No Huddle: Still No Respect

37 posts in this topic

Dukes and Sanders still can't bring themselves to give Baltimore any love. Ravens have swept the Steelers yet they're still the better team.. Okay. We could beat the Steelers in the playoffs and these guys would still be crowning Pittsburgh.

Please, please, please never jump on the Ravens bandwagon Dukes.. you'll be immediately tossed off.

dukes schmooks. We don't need his endorsement.

Deion has really turned anti Ravens this year. Not sure why.

I'm not surprised at Dukes, he's always been a hater (and a bit of a dullard) but Prime has always given us plenty of love! I guess he's trying to be less bias towards his buddies Ray and Ed. No care, really...it is what it is baby! They'll be loving us once we get in the playoffs and start blasting other teams.

I can't watch it on my phone here, but is that the one where Deion says our boys are sitting in the locker room going, "How do we beat these guys three times?"

Because that was the stupidest thing I've ever heard. As if it should give us more confidence in the playoffs if we LOST?

The only thing I don't get is why they are already awarding the Steelers a playoff spot. Its not a given for any team. Botht the Ravens and the Steelers have to play the Bengals. There are alot of AFC teams looking for the wildcard..

I hate to be that guy, but they have a point somewhat.

The Steelers losses are all understandable, and their offense and defense hasn't really looked terrible in any game.

We on the other hand, have had 2 head scratching losses, and our offense looked historically bad against Jacksonville, and looked terrible against New York, and Tennessee.

I think we have to show that we don't play down to the level of our competition, to earn respect.

With Pittsburgh, you pretty much know what you're getting. With us, its a different story.

Pittsburgh hasn't beaten a good team all season, and they narrowly escaped the winless Colts! We'll see how they do against Cincy.... both teams have a lot to prove in that one.

We won't get respect until we win the division, first of all, then go and win the whole thing.

We've had bad games, but we never turned it over seven times in one game. That was as atrocious as it gets. We haven't lost by 4 touchdowns to anyone, either. They were absolutely manhandled by us that time, and then on their own field, we outclassed them with that game-winning drive.

I agree the Ravens aren't to be crowned Super Bowl champs in waiting yet, but I think we've earned the right to have them staring at our rears for now.

And a bad offense performance against the Jets is completely understandable, cause when they turn it up they really turn it up. For example when they played Green Bay last year they made Aaron Rodgers to 15/34 passing for 170 yards. With a 59.7 passer rating. Shouldnt hold that game agasint Flacco

well you cant say we dont get respect, Sapp picks us over the steelers every time, and willie was on our side, i understand Jamie Dukes arguement, Flacco is our weak link pretty much.. i agree becuase he can be inconsistent, BUT i dont think its all flaccos fault, see cam O line etc... but if Joe gets good protection and decent playing calling week in week out for the rest of teh year that argument by Dukes will not be able to be made becuase we WILL see consistent top 10 QB play from Joe... When hes consistent well get respect from everybody...

but at the end of the day who cares, we know what joe and this ravens team can do, they know what they can do, Pitts know what they can do, TWICE! who cares if some people arent ready to crown us because their not sold on Joe just yet, i think its a fair arguement not be sold on Joe becuase he has been a bit inconsistent, but hes our QB and as i said, with help, he ll get us a championship, no doubt in my mind

At least that was against the best defense in the NFL.

"Inside the NFL" was a dissapointment to me as well last night. Thought Phil Simms, and Warren Sapp would have shown us a little love after this week. But noooooo, they were all over the Bengals and the Steelers this week. But at least Collingsworth let us know where his real loyalty is! Its not like we didn't already know, but at least I heard him say it on national tv, lol. It appeared that Collingsworth is a real fan of the Steelers AND the Bengals, suprised?...so not! lol

no one is jumping on the Raven's bandwagon or giving us praise because our offense is just too unpredictable. we never know what we will get out of them from game to game. sure, we swept the steelers in the regular season BUT, we also looked horrible against the titans and the jaguars. the Cardinals gave us all that we could handle although we got the win. the Ravens need to string together a couple of impressive wins back to back to back to back to back etc., BEFORE any analyst takes this squad seriously. the steelers have proven themselves over the years to be that "bounce-back" squad to win the division and then knock the Ravens out of the playoffs all together. on Sunday, with a convincing and impressive win over the seahawks.....the Ravens have a chance to make a serious run at being a dominate football team on both sides of the ball. let's see if that happens.

I freaking hate, i mean Hate Jamie Dukes, he has no respect what so ever. Thats ok, Warren Sapp hates the Stealers. And honestly, who cares about Jamie Dukes.
I feel even if Flacco single handedly won the superbowl, they would still try and find excuses. Let face it , he will not get any love. I know Phil Simms likes Flacco which is a plus because even before i found that out, i still liked Phils opinion.

While I don't agree with the pick, I can definitely understand still favoring the Steelers as the better team. First you look at the most important position on the field with the QB. Much as I love Joe Flacco, Big Ben is one of the league's top 5 at the quarterback spot. Edge goes to the Steelers there. The Steelers also have a bit of an edge with their WR corps. Q has been having a great year, especially the last four games, and Torrey Smith has been flashing all the big play potential for which he was drafted, but there is no better big-play receiver than Mike Wallace in the game, and the rest of the Steelers' WRs play plenty fast as well, like Antonio Brown, who punished us plenty this past weekend.

Ultimately, I would say the Ravens are better because of the defense and Ray Rice, but the Steelers are still one of the league's best teams. This week's win was the kind of game that sparks debate about which team would take a best of seven series.

To Quote Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson:

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THEY THINK!

Fact is, even if our offense looks horrible during games, the only thing that matters at the end of the day is the Win-Loss Column and at the end of the day, as long we have more wins than the Steelers and Bengals, as long as we have more wins than the AFC to get the # 1 Seed, and at the end of the day if Ray Lewis and Ed Reed get a Super Bowl Ring... That is all that matters.

Every year it's the same thing: the Steelers are still better than us. And every year for the last four we've taken a step closer, especially when it comes to the Steelers. 2008 lost all three times. 2009 beat them once in overtime without Roethslisberger. 2010 beat them once on Joe's GW drive without Roethlisberger. 2011 Beat them twice, once big and the second time by another great GW drive by Joe, but both times they had Roethlisberger. We keep proving ourselves, and improving every year. The only thing left now is to beat them in the playoffs (which we came very close to doing last year). All that matters to me is that I keep seeing improvement in this team, if not on a weekly basis than at least on a somewhat regular basis. And I feel that I have seen improvement from this team.

The funniest thing about all of this is there are ZERO guarantees we will even play Pittsburgh in the playoffs at this point and there will continue to be ZERO guarantees until the AFC's 6 man field is set. It is extremely unlikely, but I mean there's still a chance the Ravens AND Steelers miss the playoffs at this point. One week at a time Deion and Dukes, and at this point of the season the Ravens have whooped the Steelers TWICE, save your homerism for 8 more weeks you unintentional comedians.

The Patriots are still a pretty good team dude cmon now...I know their defense is terrible but they still have a pretty good offense with Brady and Welker and company and a great coach in Belichick. The Patriots beat the Jets this season already and the Ravens beat the Jets so does that make the Jets who the Ravens beat a worse team then the Pats?? The Steelers can only beat who is on their schedule and so far this season they have beaten all of the inferior teams they are supposed to beat in Seattle,Indy,Tenn,Jags, and Arizona....
