Former Ravens Center Brown Benched By Rams

14 posts in this topic

This seems kinda silly to me trying to blame the center for their dismal offensive performance. On the bright side maybe they will cut him (especially since he has a big salary) and we can bring him back next year to replace Birk. That's what I call coming full circle.

If he couldn't hang with the Rams... what makes you think he'd be able to play here? There's a reason we weren't willing to give him a long-term deal.

Haven't seen Brown's play much this year. But I find it hard that Brown is to blame for their struggles. I would be all for him coming back.

Sometimes you eat the Rams. Sometimes the Rams eat you. Their isn't much to play for there. Offense is a confusing mess with McDaniels. I would love to have Brown come back at a discounted price. The Rams could cut him because he was very expensive.

We did try to resign him but he got a mega offer from the Rams that we weren't willing to compete with. We've done this a few times with our players.

They're just looking for a scapegoat. Plus it's probably similar to the Cowboys releasing Gurode. They feel they have a younger and cheaper option with similar talent on the roster. Remember, they gave him a huge contract to sign with them. His base salary is probably pretty high.

The Rams way overpaid for him.

They saw the awesome run game we had and envisioned S-Jax going crazy with some O-Line help.

I'm sure they did and brown had a hand in it but wasn't solely because of him. I'm glad we didn't fall into that trap.

I think their tackle play has been the biggest problem.

Brown isn't a great center by any means, but I think hes a solid starter, and would love to bring him back for a reasonable price.

I follow the Rams almost as closely as the Ravens. Brown hasn't been amazing, but he's holding his own. Tbh there only good linemen is Harvey Dahl and he's not a pro-bowler by any means, they're kinda dragging him down. Like most people said, he's a scapegoat, kinda like Derrick Mason was.

Nonsense! we were not trying to let him get out of Baltimore. Rams offered more money. Brown was playing damn well as a young center for us.

I dont know about bringing Brown back... it almost would be smarter just to start Gurode at center after Birk retires, since Gurode will have had at least a year in the Ravens offense. The only plus to starting Brown over Gurode would be their ages. Gurode probably only has a few years left, whil Brown likely has several years left in his career. Its a tossup for me...

You never know what money does to someone, maybe his drive to be a good football player dropped once he got the cash or maybe it is the losing....he was good when he was here, I'm sure if he got cut the Ravens would be looking into it..haha, how weird would that be
