Per Aaron Wilson "Cam Cameron suggested that WR Lee Evans (left ankle) will likely need another week or two of practicing before he plays in a game."
Well Evens did say that he hopes to play "sometime this year," that doesn't exactly give me high hopes.

After all Torrey has done for us this season, I do not see him being sat out. I see us trying to work Lee back into the offense the same way we are trying to work JSmith back into the defense.

When Evans does return do you think we will be sitting T Smith and running 2 TE sets or going 3 wide to open up the field?
I think a little of both.Dickson and Pitta are already puttin in serious work but at the same time boldin, evans, smith and pitta/dickson would be hell to pay on a 1st and 10.The options are endless

I was looking for the injury thread that was used for Grubbs and Evans in particular (maybe we should have a stickied injury updates thread?), so feel free to merge this if it's too redundant, just thought I should let everyone know that things look optimistic for Evans...

WR Lee Evans said he plans on testing out his injured ankle in practice this week. Is optimistic he might be able to play Sunday [s]#[/s]Ravens

I'm happy to hear things are looking good, but I might have him wait until Cincinnatti unless he and the medical staff believe he is okay to play in Seattle. I'd hate to see him reinjure his ankle, but perhaps if he plays in Seattle he won't be rusty at all for Cincinnatti next week.
Hopefully he will be able to play. He was good the one game we had him. It would help us AMAZINGLY against Cincy. Hopefully our starting receivers will be: Evans, Boldin, Smith.

I hope there is no bad news on Lee Evans' ankle after the Bengals game. Hope he is healthy and gets a full week of practice (even on a short week) to be more of a threat and not a decoy against the 49ers on Thanksgiving.

How often was he in? I'm not sure how many WR sets we ran, or how often he was in. I saw him a few times including the one pass where Flacco overthrew it. Lee was still very fast and had some separation, but the pass was overthown. I agree - I want him to be more than just a decoy, but I'm not even clear on how often he was in the game.

Did Lee nab any catches today? I don't believe he did.

He only had that one deep target. That was the only target he got. He was in on a handful of plays.

Lee evans is experienced, a good route runner, and has good hands...whats your thoughts on keep torrey running deep, dickson down the seems, and then having boldin continue his thing with finding holes in the zones and letting lee run quick slants and crossing routes. I think as we incorporate him back this could be good because we saw with torrey yesterday that speed on slants can burn a defense and with the speed of lee running crossing routes it would be hard for corners to keep up, allowing lee to get up field. I think we should send him deep on a couple with smith so flacco can pick a side but i think some quick slants and crossing routes for 10 yard gains would be huge for our offense and lee's confidence with that ankle

Yeah, Evans had one target, which Joe overthrew, but he was open deep.
He had some separation on that play. I figured it would take a game or two for the Ravens to try to start working him in the mix a good bit. The ravens were definitely just easing him into it this game.

I hope once he's healthy Cam actually goes 3-wide... I don't recall him doing it at all yesterday except maybe once or twice.

He only has 2 catches on the season. I'm sure he will expect to build on those stats before the end of the season. At best, he is a decoy for Smith and Boldin. I hope that he at least can catch a ball or two on Thursday night.

Well hes worked great as a decoy 2 out of 3 games hes played. Once we have all 3 going out its gonna open Boldin up alot. I see him having a great rest of year.

getting open on one of the first plays back looks very promising aslong as his ankle doesnt get re-aggrivated he can be a huge addition to our 3 wr set plays thats alot of speed for a defense to contend with. I would feel much more confident in passing situations with him and torrey on the field and boldin working underneath just looks very good on paper.

He might contribute more before the season ends. But Torrey has locked up the 2nd reciever spot. Barring injury or Torrey starting to stink it up, Lee will be 3rd on the depth chart at best.

On certain packages i wouldn't mind sitting Anquan and having them both out there with the tight ends.

Torreys td was I formation with two tes rather than 2 wrs. Smith was only wr on the field and they still let him get over the top.. I'm almost certain

The reason he got over the top is the DB's got caught looking into the backfiled, it was a run formation BUT we fooled them... That, and Torrey can blow the doors off of most DB's in the league.

I haven't heard anything about any setbacks for him in recovery after his first game back, which is great news. He wasn't listed as a limited or absent member of practice yesterday. Looks like he should be back for good so long as he doesn't reinjure himself.

From yesterday:

Lee Evans, Dannell Ellerbe, Tom Zbikowski, and Anthony Allen were all present during the open portion. [s]#[/s]Ravens

Yup, Evans wasn't listed on the injury report, so that's definitely a great sign. I expect him to have a nice game on Thursday :)
