Live Radio At The Bank: 7 Second Delay?

9 posts in this topic

Good morning,

My father went to the Jets game and discovered that 98 Rock's live broadcast was delayed significantly enough to be a distraction, so he turned his radio off. He is taking me to the Colts game next month and I cannot imagine sitting through the whole game without listening to the live broadcast.

Are there any tips or tricks to successfully follow along with the radio broadcast? I suppose if we had amazing seats, it wouldn't be as much of an issue. :-\

Thanks in advance,

C

Can't even imagine trying to follow a radio broadcast while at the game. There's just too much else going on. I would think that most live broadcasts have the delay built in to avoid issues with the FCC.

There are few, if any, stations that do an actual 1:1 live broadcast. There is almost ALWAYS a delay, no matter the subject.

i never understood why people would listen to the radio at the game, the broadcast is for people to follow who aren't at the game, haha

Last time I was at a game... has it been 8 years now?... the radio broadcast was in real time. Again, if I was right down in the action in good seats, I wouldn't feel a need. Way up high in one end zone though, I like one ear to be able to hear what's going on. Oh well. So much for technology.

Thanks anyway,
