Merged: Steelers vs Bengals (Which Most Benefits the Ravens?)

Im just hoping the Steelers win Sunday in Cincy and get that tough game out of the way and the Ravens lose 1 of those next 2 games after the Seattle game to either the Bengals or 49ers in Baltimore. Because while the
Steelers do play the Bengals again at home in about 3 weeks Im not overly concerned about not being able to handle them at home because other then that there are really no tough tough games on the Steelers schedule the rest of the way.. If that happens it will then come down to whether or not the Steelers can win in San Francisco in December and whether the Ravens can win in San Diego the night before. If the Ravens win both of those games in Baltimore against the Bengals and 49ers the Steelers basically will need the Ravens to lose in both San Diego on December 18th and in Cincinnati to close out the season on New Years Day to have any remote chance at all to win the division...

You do realize that the rest of your schedule is mathematically more difficult than ours? Your opponents have a winning percentage of .500 (and some change) and ours have .400 (and some change).

I do realize that but I still am sticking by the fact that if the Steelers get by the Bengals in Cincy on Sunday then they have an excellent chance to hang right there with the Ravens in this division race for the remainder of the season. While anything can happen in the NFL if the Steelers do get by the Bengals Sunday on the road I have a hard time seeing the Steelers losing in Kansas City after their bye week,or back to back weeks at home against the Bengals and Browns to start December before they play the 49ers who they will have 11 full days to prepare for seeing that their game with the Browns on December 8th is on a Thursday night. If they do happen to lose anyone of those games I will be the first one to come back on here and admit I was wrong...

I agree in full. It always seems to me that we can never rely on anyone to get the job done (of beating the Steelers) except for us. Even then we have been in so many games where we "beat" the Steelers and lose the game.

Well it's all in the Ravens hands this year in terms of winning the AFC North and getting homefield advantage and the number 1 seed in the playoffs...If the Ravens fail to get the job done this season they cant use the not getting by the Steelers line as their scapegoat...

So the Steelers have gone from being an Achilles heel to a scapegoat? C'mon son.

So true, at this point since the Ravens sweeped the Steelers, meaning that even if the Ravens & Steelers tie in overall record, the Ravens would win the Division. So with that said the Bengals are the only thing standing in their way...... and Cam Cameron's play calling. The Bengals are 6-2 but like many have pointed out, they have had a easy schedule. I think the Steelers will win this one but I think the Bengals may end up pulling it out especially if AJ Green gives the Steelers secondary fits all game long. Even if the Bengals pull it out, it will probably be by a game winning Field Goal.

I think the Steelers secondary will contain Green fairly well in this game and Dalton will finally have a game where he looks like a rookie. I know the Bengals are 6-2 but they still lost to a bad Broncos team early in the season, had hold off a late rally from a winless Colts team at home, had to comeback and beat the Jags on the road in the final minutes, and rally down 10 points against Tennessee. They are playing really good for such a young team but I think this week for them it's going to be a case of wrong place wrong time with the kind of state of mind the Steelers are in after the loss to the Ravens...

I've of a mind to agree with these points except, nearly every single team in the NFL seems to have some of that Jekyll and Hyde stuff going on this season. If you recall, you guys had trouble with that winless Colts team, barely held on to beat the Jags, and lost to the Texans. I see the Bengals being very motivated for this game. It's at their house and for once, there is no threat of a black out. You can bet they are well aware that this is their respect game as well. They aren't getting much and a win vs the Steelers would change that in a heartbeat. I'd be worried about us vs them right now as well if we were going into their house. I'm not as worried with it being a home game for us though because we are a different team at home. Either way, I'm glad you guys face them first for two reasons. We get to see if they are for real and I figure win or lose, you'll send them to us a little banged up.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but let's pull 4 the Squeelers! They're already a win behind, and we own both the tie brakers!!! At this point, the only obstacles we have to winning the AFC North, a first round bye, and #1 seed in the AFC North are the Cincinnati Bengals and ourselves! That could change!

That and also the remaining 8 games on our schedule (half of the season where the Steelers could find a way to leap frog us with their easy schedule).

I'm pulling for the Bengals.

Im kind of torn here....with a Cincy win it makes it EXTREMELY difficult for our most heated rival to make the playoffs, let alone win the division. BUT, with a Steeler win, it helps us with our quest for the Division, but not necessarily knocking Pitt closer to being out. Since we hold the cards in regards to still having the two Cincy games on the board, I THINK I am leaning towards a Cincy win!

Nope. Steelers with a win give them 7 wins. The same wins if we take care of business. They have an easy schedule the rest of the way. The Bengals have a tougher schedule. I'd rather be battling the Bengals to make it to the playoffs/in the playoffs instead of the battle-tested Steelers.

Plus its way to early to really be thinking this scenario as the Bengals still have 4 games against us and the Steelers.

agreeded, and im tired of seeing the steelers more then twice a year

I have have more faith in the steelers that they will finish with a better record then bengals, plus its the steelers, so go bengals!

After thinking about this all week, I've decided I want the Bengals to win.

1) Any dagger in the heart of the Steelers makes me happy, and
2) I hate playing a team the week after they lose.

I'd rather the Bengals show up here all full of themselves than fighting to prevent losing two weeks in a row.

Neither benefits the Ravens if we don't take care of business.
I just don't think cincy is good enough to beat the steelers. After we win this week, and beat cincy next week we would have essentially 2 games up (tie breaker) on the steelers since they have their bye next week.
