If Lee Evans Goes To Ir, Sign Stallworth?

No one is saying replace Torrey Smith......

I was saying since Lee Evans has taken 2 months to get over an ankle injury maybe we should see what veterans are out there because I know I would hate to go to the SB against Aaron Rodgers with LaQuan WIlliams and David Reed as our 3 and 4th receivers.....

What does Aaron Rodgers have to do with Laquan Williams and David Reed? Absolutely nothing, right?

If you're concerned with our WRs against GB, you shouldn't be. their defense is pretty mediocre this year. and Pittsburgh's is #2... We just beat Pittsburgh defense with our offense. If our offense can beat Pittsburgh, it is at least capable of smashing GB's defense. We can beat the Packers. Their run D sucks, and I think we'll be able to pass on them. If we can win TOP we can beat the Pack. No doubt in my mind. We'll beat the Pack with a power football game, if we play them that is.

a good defensive game and a team that can control the clock can beat the Packers, if you can control the clock they cant get their offense on the field, if they cant get on the field, they cant get into a

the Packers arent immortal or something, every year a team is anointed early, like the Patriots the year the Giants beat 'em

The Packers are beatable. Keep Rodgers off the field.

In addition, they aren't supermen. They've had a relatively easy schedule. I think that we have had a more difficult schedule to this point. SD, MIN, NO, CAR, and CHI all played pretty close to GB. CAR should not have been in that game, but they took advantage if the defense, just like every other team did to them. Look what San Diego did the other night. 38 points. Are we capable of 38 points? I really don't know, but at the same time, I don't think we'll give up 45.

yeah and thats with Philip Rivers throwing 3 more INTs, 2 of them pick 6's ....so that helped them, if the Chargers weren't playing like crap they would have won that game

I don't mind Donté Stallworth, but I would rather have LaQuan Williams at this point in their careers. We still need to find a way to test out Tandon Doss, and that won't happen with Donté on this team.

Exactly. And I definitely think we're better than the Chargers.

This is so surreal to me. Granted, I'm a little tipsy but bear with me. Look through this thread, people. We are defending and praising the receivers on this team. We are excited to have a receiver we drafted earlier this year. We have always lacked in this position and yet now here we are defending and loving our squad of guys. It brings tears to my eyes.

Yep. Control TOP. Run, Run, Run. Teams always make the mistake of getting into a shoot out with them. Any team, including ours would probably lose in a shoot out. But if you can control the clock keep the offense off the field and cold. Tire the defense. You can take the Packers.

Most of the teams they've played are passing offenses. Minnesota came the closest to beating them. Why? TOP was about even and they ran the ball 30+ times. If they didn't have a rookie QB. They probably could've done better.

If they had a vet QB they might've won, but Ponder played a pretty good game against them if I remember.

Well Ponder was ranked much higher than Flacco in the latest QB power ranking, :P

I'll bet Shanny would love to have Torrey Smith, or Laquan Williams, or David Reed or Tandon Doss...guys that Stallworth would surely be behind in the depth chart if he was still here. And besides, Lee Evans will probably be back soon.

Stallworth has never been worth much... I mean his whole career has been based on the 40 time he ran out of college which got him drafted early by the saints he never lived up to draft billing.

I said last yr I would have preferred to kept Kelly Washington or mark Clayton over stallworth.... Kelly was our mr 3rd 2 yrs ago.

If we had to sign a free agent WR not named Randy Moss. Then my pick would be Kelly Washington or Mardy Gilyard. I've always liked what Kelly did that 1 yr with us. All the catches for 1st downs over the middle of field.

Mardy is young player that could add to our special teams return game now ( and he could compete for 4th WR spot. )
