Detroit fans are really pissed about having Nickelback play during halftime on Thanksgiving. They've already started a petition against them that has 43,000 signatures! So my question to you guys is would you want Nickelback to play in Bmore during halftime? I personally like the band, but what do you guys think?

I don't like Nickelback but for some reason on the internet they're just the trendy band to hate on. I'd probably rather listen to them then one of the other thousands of mainstream artists. Watch them succeed and have Miley Cyrus take the stage instead.

What has Nickelback done to cause this petition? I would not imagine not liking their music is enough to get the fans to revolt.

Yeah, why the backlash from Detroit fans? Aren't they Canadian afterall?
I have to agree with a previous post- Buck Cherry and the band that played a song they wrote for the Ravens at the first game sounded soooo bad on our PA system.
We are in the 5th level and it was distorting so badly.

Personally I like Nickelback's old music and would rather hear them than any type of hip-hop crap they could bring into Baltimore. Plus, it beats having to watch the band play some jazzed up Metallica rendition (or whatever it was during that one halftime). :(

I could care less, I'm purging a twelve pack at halftime anyway!

That's the spirit! Drown out the horrible sound system with waves of spirits!

Playing a virtual mayor may be a lot more enjoyable than doing it in the real world. Cities XL 2012 simplifies the messy rigmarole that comes with running a municipality; you eliminate things like labor problems, uptight councillors, and calls from angry residents about raccoons getting into garbage cans in favor of focusing on urban planning

Fans are fans are fans are fans. If they don't want Nickleback, and there's anyway to find someone else to do it, the Lions' organization should take it into consideration. I'm not saying jump ship and change your entire half-time show, that would be risky.. but at least give it some thought.

what the heck? Since when does a fan base get to choose who plays at half-time?

This is outrageous. If this goes through, I can only imagine what Super Bowl fans will start to do. Quit acting like spoiled babies, Detroit.

The name of the band is an insult to Corey Ivy and Frank Walker. I would rather watch 'Beautician and the Beast'... I would rather listen to Fran Drescher for eight hours than have to listen to Nickelback.

They should just do away with those halftime performances. Always the worst part of the game.

I absolutely hate Nickelback. They are one of the many banes of my existence.
To be honest, there is only one Nickelback song which I really enjoy, that song being "Rockstar". I guess the video was enough for me, Franchise.

As for who to sign in place of said Nickelback, maybe a decent Detroit act, such as, say, the Temptations or the Four Tops.

Maybe even Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.

I welcome your comments.
