I was just comparing stats from 2006 to 2007 and I was wondering if you guys think this years defense will be as good as 2006 defense?

They will be every bit as good as the 06' D. They have more/better depth and are more mature then they were 2 years ago. They also have an offense that has put up good numbers week to week, being able to eat up a lot of clock and give these guys the rest they need to dominate. When we get Gregg back and hopefully everyone else stays healthy we will be a force that not many teams can compete with, not that were not now.

I doubt it, were 2 years older in both our starting CB's, and McNair brought alot of fire from the entire team. I'm pretty sure the entire team has alot of faith in Flacco, at least I hope because I do, but He's a rookie and they know that, but Mcnair was a Co- MVP of the league, been to pro-bowls and took His team to the superbowl and was a yard shy of winning it, and maybe being superbowl MVP on top of it.

We dominated both our first games, then in the entire first half of the Squleers game, but we showed a big weakness in the 2nd half, Our Blitzes was getting picked apart. Guys missed talkles.. something that is not part of B-more football, Usally when we blitz our guys Nail the QB, but theyt was missing them talkles quite a bit in the 3rd qtr. Hopefully we can pick back up where we left off the first 2 1/2 games. But teams will watch that monday night weakness and try to exploit it week in and week out.

It's all about the health. If we stay healthy we are the best in the league, and better than last year.

I have to disagree with Ben making our guys miss. Hes a strong QB and its hard to take him down. If Pryce didnt come in and hit him he wouldve completed that throw instead of fumbling it. He was lookin like he was going to just shake Ivy off of him. Im not worried though. Its not like we have to play another QB like that until we meet the Steelers again and play the Jags at the end of the season.

frankly, i dont see why not, if the players are willing to make the commitment to do just that and be as good if not better than the were in 2006, but i think its based more so on a personal level rather than a comparison level. The players and team dont look at it as "can we be better than we were in 2006?"if they do that then they arent playing Raven Football, they just need to go out there and play hard core, smash mouth football, with the Defense playing stout, physical play in which all counterparts on our side of the football are coresponding with each other and firing on all cylinders, prompting for a much better, much more physical type of play than if they werent. Everyone on defense needs to be cooperating on all levels, if we can do that then the results are a much better unit and a much better defensive display/show than if they werent. Like the previous weeks of the season, our secondary needs to be blanketing their recievers, causing the opposition to come up with other ways in which to try and get around our style of play and defensive ability. There neesd to be blanket coverage on any and all recievers, and the big men upfront in the trenches need to ne evasive/powerful in their way to elude or drive their Offensive line back into the backfield and forcing their line to crumble.

With the way Rex is using our defensive schemes and the players themselves, im sure that he'll put them in the best possible sitautions and this week we will need our secondary and the Linebackers to both help out in the complex coverage and with the complex blitz packages Rex dishes out for the opposition. Like i've said before, Pressure is the key to disrupting any type of offensive chemistry and if we can disrupt their chemistry enough for our defensive players to force and forcing their quarterback out of the pocket and virtually out of that comfort zone, that pretty much spells out offensive over-thrown and under-thrown balls AND once the pressure becomes more apparent and seems to be taking a toll on the opposing teams quarterback and offesnsive unit, so much that they are getting desperate and will be looking to force throws and try to make things happen, thats when we (the defense) neesd to step it up even more and step infront or make a jump in the football if they see the opportunity arise and the chance coming their way. we Need to create turnover situations and more opportunities for our offense to get back on the field, if we can do that then we'll have the success needed in order to pull out a victory.
