Holiday Smash-Hit Sequel - Cam Cameron 2

6 posts in this topic

So I went back a read through some of the ancient scrolls (aka old threads) of when Cam first got here and the big impact he made turning this offense around. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't glad we got him back then. Now, with Cam in the hot seat.. maybe not so much.

Recently, it seems hes been giving Joe more control of the offense, and.. we're seeing some great results. I'm not saying Cam should be off the hook, not even saying I wouldn't mind seeing him replaced at this point.. but if, IF he releases this choke hold we believe he has AND continues putting our offense into positions where they tend to succeed (for example, Boldin actually going over the middle!) do we still want him gone?

Just want to know what you guys think. Can Cam make you a believer again (if you ever were)?

Cam will make me a believer if he starts calling good game plans every week. I can live with losing if he calls a good game and we just blow it. But the biggest reason we lost to the Jaguars was Cam Cameron. Ray Rice had 8 carries against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL. If he was going to take Rice out, why not give the ball to Ricky Williams or Anthony Allen? Other times, Flacco has aired it out and put us ahead i.e. New England last year, and then we go into a conservative run-oriented mode and blow the lead and the game. Cam seems to have a hard time with both sticking to what works and changing things up when what he's trying to do doesn't work. Neither of these are things I want in my offensive coordinator.

I would like to know how much of that final drive was Cam and how much was Joe.

That said, I have been on Cams side for the vast majority of the time.
I would not be heart broken if he is gone end of the season but I wont be OVERLY bothered if he stays.
To put it more simply, 70% I want him to leave at the end of the season.

I still don't like Cam..he still calls mighty stupid plays and he's only letting Flacco have that much freedom cause you know he got ribbed pretty damn hard by Harbs probably, but as long as we're winning and he's not costing us games im good, but not happy with him.

Can he make me a believer? yeah, anyone can do that, but unless we become an offensive juggernaut i don't see it happening

No. Hell no. Norv will be fired after this season, and he'll be calling the plays by next September. Either him or Kubiak. There's nothing Cam Cameron can do to make me "like" him
