National Media Spin on Ravens-Steelers II

I expected the game to get plenty of love on ESPN and NFL Network, I thought after a performance like that Joe will finally get the talking heads singing his praises on TV just for 1 week at least. Wishful thinking I suppose, also thought they just might spin it and talk about injuries/ray's hit/torrey's "push".. And that was exactly what they did. The NFL Network crew didn't say one good thing about Flacco the entire show. They just did the highlights cried and complained about ray's hit and torrey's "push", then didn't even spend a second on the Ravens/Flacco in analysis. The most exited they got the whole time was for Big Ben's scramble, not even Joe's 92 yard 2 minute drill TD. They treat Ravens-Steelers II like a non issue and pump up the Pats-Giants game for twice the air time.

Mike and Mike in the Morning on ESPN 2 continued the disrespect by simply saying the ravens won the game, complaining about the same things as NFL network guys. Then go into DEEP analysis on Pats-Giants and Jets-Bills. SERIOUSLY? You spend 30 seconds on the game of the year so far and go onto drool over ELI MANNING. Yet no mention of Flacco who had a longer game winning drive against the #2 D opposed to the 32nd ranked D. So the plan for the national media is simple, pretend like it didn't happen. If we don't talk about it, people will forget. Shame on these people for not giving credit where credits due. If Big Ben has that same drive it would be plastered over every sports channel for a week.

Forget the talking heads, we know we have a "damn good" quarterback. GO RAVENS!!!

The NFL Network game day crew actually love the ravens, especially Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin. Last night they might have tried to hide it, but deep down they love the ravens because of their connection with Ray and Ed. On the other hand on espn Keyshawn johnson and chris carter dislike the ravens.

I don't mind this at all..... Because every time we get ranked highly and bragged about like "media darlings " we lose a game r struggle to win..... This dates back all the way to 2006 when people started picking McNair led ravens to defeat the colts @ Baltimore. And we blew.
I like the underdog roll that doesn't get respect. Because quite frankly our teams hasn't shown that they can effectively maintain composure and handle business.

Did anyone noticed what Collinsworth was saying after the Ravens scored and the Steelers took over with like 8 seconds left??? He was saying the Steelers still have enough time to get a quick play down the field, stop the clock and kick a FG to tie it...Even Al Michaels was kinda like shocked by what he was saying. It was absurd. I cant remember AL's quote exactly but it had the tone of he thought Cris is out of his mind. Collinsworth hates the Ravens... All night i found myself saying "Shut up cris"

mmm i always find my self saying that to Chris,i find him such a Idiot

Basically the media has spun this whole rivalry with the steelers to where people that don't get to see the games or remember the games think the steelers dominate us all the time. When in reality every game is usually Baltimore leads most of the lead or has the 4th qtr lead the some kinda of wild game changing turnover, penalty or scramble pass leads to our heart break.......

It's never like Steelers come out and just handle us convincely.....
Media never bring up plays like the Webb punt return that was stolen from us in playoff game to give us the lead back.....
Or when we stuffed them on Goalline and T.Cody has his face masked pulled on as he is yanked to ground but he was called for a penalty to give them 1st and goal.......

Now they just blinding turn their heads at the "Phantom holding " on T. Smith first play of game that completely stole what would have been crowd silencing momentum.

Collinsworth makes me sick... It really doesn't matter who the ravens play. He is always making smug comments towards us..... He constantly complains about us having helmet to helmet hits. Even vs Jets the Ngata forced fumble he was crying that he hit Sanchez too hard....
Ray Lewis hit ward collinsworth yelling where flag. Clark almost KO Dickson and he wasn't screaming for flags.
It's really crazy since he is ex-Bengal to have such a crush on Steelers.

I hear ya man, i watched them all too , just to see how they would spin it.

I will say this, and i liked the guy before he even had anything good to say about Joe and the Ravens, Phil Sims Likes Flacco and he gives him credit when its deserved.

Well they still are the defending AFC North champions and defending AFC Champions until somebody officially dethrones them in January or before so we shall see...The Ravens didnt officially win the division yet fellas long long way to go...
The Ravens just beat the Steelers twice. How can they not be the best team in the North?

Nothing needs to be said....I saw the highlights on NFLN and heard the complaining, but we know that even if they don't give us respect, we'll keep taking it.

"he got away with a push off". You forgot to talk about the defense pass interference. Seriously, you'd think for one game the media would act mature and except it for what it is but no. What a shame.

I hate Chris Collinsworth. I just don't like adults who like teenagers, that's all.

why do you care what the media says and act like its a conspiracy? honestly none of it matters
I guess I care and don't care at the same time, if that makes sense. I mean on one hand, I know what we've got here as far the team goes and I certainly don't need the media hand holding me through the process like apparently Steelers/Patsy/Cowboy fans do. On the other hand, it still irks me that we can't even get a, 'Good job by the Ravens,' for a comeback win that as others have said, had Big Ben done that very same thing it's all we'd be able to do to turn on anything that got a radio signal of any kind not to hear about it for a week. It's just disrespectful to me as a fan.

thats what some media were saying too, so before the season and these wins it was Flacco and the Ravens cant beat the Steelers with Ben, not in Pittsburgh..and as soon as we did its....well, this only really counts in the post season, Flacco cant win in the playoffs

Cant wait to shut them all up....hopefully we play the Steelers and BEAT them a 3rd time then that'll show everyone, never speak a word again on Joe Flacco and the Ravens
Seriously man..this right here (the bolded part) is what makes me the most angry and I just can't let go of it. I mean, what the Hell? Before this season started, Joe Flacco 'can't get it done against the Steelers,'. I mean because everyone conveniently forgets that the man did it LAST SEASON in Pittsburgh. Then after we absolutely destroyed the Steelers in Week 1, all anyone would say is that it was an okay win, but he'd never win in Pittsburgh. Now he's done that, in SPECTACULAR fashion and it's STILL not enough. NOW he has to beat them in the playoffs and none of these past two wins count?! I don't get it. Can someone explain to me how that makes any sense at all? Hey, any Steeler trolls out there wanna shed some light on this obviously idiotic stance? Gahhhh!

Edit: What Al Michaels said to Collinsworth was hilarious. Cris: 'Meeh, blah blah the Steelers can still do this,'. Al: 'Uhh, I'll give you 500 to 1 odds on that one Cris,'. *Ben throws an incomplete pass and now there's two seconds left on the clock* Al: 'Well Cris, now I'm giving you 1000 to 1 odds, care to change your mind?,' Cris: *something retarded* Even Al Michaels knew Cris was being stupid, I'm actually pretty glad he called him out on it.

Ravens = the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL

We should all know this and be used to it by now. The haters are gonna hate.. WE know what happened Sunday night. The TEAM and the organization knows what happened Sunday night. It will live on in our hearts forever.

Who gives a flying rats' behind what the rest of the world thinks?

Well for a lot of newish football fans the first half of our game would probably bore them although personally speaking, half my fingernails were gone before the first half was over.

He always hates us, but the way he went after Torrey following the first drop was absolutely over the line, unacceptable, and personal. No one on the field felt sicker about it than him and Collinsworth was basically blaming him for losing the game in his usual smug tone, citing the holding call in the first quarter as well. Made it that much sweeter when Torrey shut him right up a couple of plays later.

To the national media: **** you. Keep chirping. We're reloading.
