Steelers Fans Are So............bitter

209 posts in this topic

The greatest thing I can't stand about most Steelers fans is the fact that they can't admit when they got outplayed and beat by a better team. I was full-blown Ravens pride today and got told we got lucky. (trust me..I told the person quite plainly).

I'm glad the series is over for one season. We swept. Oh be joyful!

Yeah...pretty much every single one of us is bitter. It's to be expected. I know Ravens fans were just as bitter in the '08 season too.

Things I'm most bitter about though...3rd down conversions. I still don't have words for how much that pissed me off. Kudos to Joe on that though. He kept that offense moving.

The only ref related thing I'm bitter about is the no call on Lewis. Either call it or don't. The refs have sucked in general for a long time now. It's sad.

Congrats on the regular season sweep though and for another great game between the best rivals in the NFL. I'll be ecstatic if these two teams get to meet again in January!

Its not much for Sqeelers fans to say. lmao

Also, Skip Bayless is a joke saying this was a fluke win & Ryan Clark should of broken up the pass.

This is the most common thing I have heard from not just Steelers fans but analysts as well. Last night I was watching Gameday Final and Deon Sanders came out and said this something to the effect about how the Ravens are happy and celebrating but in the back of their mind they are saying.. "it's tough to beat a team 3 times....." First off, I hope while the Ravens are happy and celebrating that the Seattle Seahawks are in the back of their mind and are already thinking about Sunday's game against the Seahawks, which is in Seattle, another road game. Second why is it assumed that the Ravens & Steelers will not only face off in the playoffs but that they will even make the playoffs? either team will even make the playoffs?

Quite frankly with how competitive both the North and East are, it's not a guarantee the Ravens or Steelers will make the playoffs if they don't win the North. The Bills could get back to where they were and kick one of us out, the Jets could kick us or the Steelers out, Tom Brady by himself(we all know the Defense won't help him) kicks one of us out of the playoffs and gets the Pats back in it. I just find it funny how everyone is assuming we will play in the Playoffs again completely ignoring that the Bengals have the AFC North lead, and that there is 3 teams in the AFC East who have 5 wins who could knock either or both of us out and the East gets 3 teams in the playoffs.

All the crying I've heard is along the lines of, "It would have been a different game if we were healthy."

OH YEAH!? Well, please refer to week one to see how a well rested and healthy Steelers team fared against the new and improved Ravens squad.

Back in 2008, we got all the way to the AFC Championship Game with half our team playing with serious injuries. Suggs played with one arm and Mason played with a dislocated shoulder. Our team was held together with chewing gum and paper mache, and we still won games. They need to get over it, injuries are part of the game. That's why you have 53 men on a roster.

A threematch (see what I did there? haha) would be perfect. Give us at least the chance to get our remaining monkey off our back -- our past failures vs PIT in the playoffs.

Awesome game last night -- we both made the AFCN proud last night!
Not me I gave Flacco all the credit in the world for doing what he did on that final drive. I didnt think he had it in him to go 92 yards in 2 in a half minutes with 1 timeout against that defense and he did. No excuses Flacco and the Ravens got it done and the Steelers didnt. The key for the Steelers now is to keep winning every single week and force Baltimore to do so as well. Keep the pressure on the Ravens to win every single week which the Steelers definitely can do seeing that they are capable of winning the last 7 games on their schedule... If they can get by at Cincy this week the only real tough game they have the rest of the way is at San Francisco a week before Christmas. From what we have seen from the Ravens this year losing to teams like Tennessee and Jacksonville I find it hard to believe the Ravens are going to go 8-0 the rest of the season they will slip at least 1 maybe 2 more times before the season is over they wont go unbeaten...So while Harbaugh and the Ravens fans should be very very excited for sweeping the Steelers in the regular season something they have yet to do since they have been there it didnt win them the Lombardi Trophy or for that matter guarantee them that they will win the AFC North. There are still 7-8 games left for both the Steelers and the Ravens and a lot can happen from this point forward...
Uhhhhhhhhh, you've been swept before dude....
For a fan base that lives in the past, you really need to brush up on your history.

This is very true. The Ravens are the better team this year, but both the Ravens and the Steelers (especially the Steelers) can little afford to lose even one more game or they could both miss the playoffs this year. I doubt it will work out that way, but as the saying goes..."Any given Sunday" Lotta football left

No excuses for Woodley being out. Could he have made a difference throughout the game and on the last drive?? Probably but it still doesnt excuse the Steelers defense for allowing Flacco to pick them apart the way he did with 1 timeout. Somebody has to step up on the Steelers defense and make a play and they didnt do it...
The most ironic thing is Ryan Clark, the guy who said this wasn't even a rivalry.. he got stiff armed and sat down week 1 by ray rice and now he allows the game winning catch with some of the worst Football IQ/awareness displays that I've ever seen. His ONLY priority was not to let anyone get behind him, protect your endzone. This moron comes rolling UP off the snap and puts himself out of the play completely. He might as well have stayed on the sidelines for that play, if he just flopped to the ground when the ball was snapped it would've had the exact same effect. We have 8 seconds left and your the SAFETY!!! The Deep contain! Ryan Clark has no football IQ, smh.

That should be the #1 C"MON MAN! this week

It irks me that the ignorant fans of your team have selective memories, and pick and choose what stats and history they want to acknowledge.

And good luck against San Fran, the second we face off against them on Thanksgiving, John and Jim will be in constant communication on how to game plan against Pitt. I must say, it will be pretty sweet watching the Harbaugh brothers run the table on you guys.

Its not a bigger loss, but the point is that excuses can be made until the end of time, but in the end we won.

Well hopefully there is a 3rd meeting once again come playoff time and Woodley is there this time and the Ravens have all hands on deck as well. The Ravens despite this win last night are still going to have the Steelers breathing right down their necks these last 7 weeks of the season. The Ravens cant afford any hiccups here or the Steelers will be right back in this race they arent going away just yet...
Give it up..... I think the same outcome will prevail IF the Steelers have any opportunity to play the Ravens again. Not saying Pittsburgh wont make the playoffs but I'm tired of all this... "ohh, the Steelers are ticked off, "ohh, we'll remember everything" "Oh, that 2 point conversion NEVER came up in our discussions" "Oh, the Ravens shouldn't have been throwing the ball late, the Steelers will be mad" ... We don't bow down to the Steelers, especially not this year. So, save the thought of the Ravens being worried about the Steelers.... The Ravens control their own destiny, the Steelers need to focus on theirs and so do you.

Yeah...I'm not big on the whole trash talking thing. I mean...I enjoy the heck out of hating your team and all, but in the end, it's just entertainment and has no bearing whatsoever on our own lives.

I can't wish you luck down the stretch or anything...but that was a hell of a game last night, and it deserves more praise than it's gotten. I hope we're all lucky enough to get to see a rematch in the playoffs.

That's a good point. I wonder how much communication would really take place. Ravens have every interest in the world having San Fran beat the Steelers.

John probably won't tell him anything Jim can't learn from watching game tape. Our Harbaugh is going to be busy focusing on the next game.
