I'm not surprised in the least. My Steeler buddy woke me up with a text this morning that said, 'Questionable catch,'. He was referring to Torrey's game winner. I have no idea what he's talking about. I told him that he was in denial and told him just to man up, say good game and move on but so far he's disappointed me by using excuse after excuse. I want to do an impromptu multiple choice guys. What do you think his final say was on the matter out of three choices?

A. 'Fine, fine it was a good game by the Ravens, but we'll see you in the playoffs,'.
B. 'Well we still have six rings so who cares,'.
C. 'This was the Ravens' second Super Bowl,'.
Well, I'm gonna guess its not the first one..... and judging by how stupid/ignorant he sounds by saying that a very, very obvious catch was questionable.... I'll say the second one.

B.

I bet he's a Yankee fan too.

I'm going with A. I can't see you rollin' with anyone who's unreasonable enough to say B or C!

Two things, I got a knuckle bump from a Steeler fan with a good game comment attached to it. There are some class Steeler fans here in Portland. Also, I keep reading from Steeler fans that we have to go through them to get to the Super Bowl, but reality sez: They gotta go through us!! Gut feeling tells me there will not be a third meeting this year.

Not me I gave Flacco all the credit in the world for doing what he did on that final drive. I didnt think he had it in him to go 92 yards in 2 in a half minutes with 1 timeout against that defense and he did. No excuses Flacco and the Ravens got it done and the Steelers didnt.
The key for the Steelers now is to keep winning every single week and force Baltimore to do so as well. Keep the pressure on the Ravens to win every single week which the Steelers definitely can do seeing that they are capable of winning the last 7 games on their schedule... If they can get by at Cincy this week the only real tough game they have the rest of the way is at San Francisco a week before Christmas. From what we have seen from the Ravens this year losing to teams like Tennessee and Jacksonville I find it hard to believe the Ravens are going to go 8-0 the rest of the season they will slip at least 1 maybe 2 more times before the season is over they wont go unbeaten...So while Harbaugh and the Ravens fans should be very very excited for sweeping the Steelers in the regular season something they have yet to do since they have been there it didnt win them the Lombardi Trophy or for that matter guarantee them that they will win the AFC North. There are still 7-8 games left for both the Steelers and the Ravens and a lot can happen from this point forward...

I can't believe how nasty the Steelers forums are right now, they make our forums after a loss look like a Chuck E. Cheese. Flacco is getting no credit from them, and all they're saying is they'll beat us in the playoffs.

Ravens fans have been in the same position, so I'm not going to act like we haven't or I haven't..its tough to lose 1 game to a rival, let alone a sweep...

:)

glad to come out on top, respect the Steelers but it feels good and i will enjoy it

People are giving Flacco credit on some of the Steelers forums more then you think. I just gave him credit and said he did a helluva job there driving 92 yards there on the road against that Steelers defense with 1 timeout and needing a TD. It was a huge huge win for the Ravens no doubt but all it does for the moment is put them in a good position to win the division. It didnt win them the Lombardi Trophy yet which is how some guys like Harbaugh at his post game press conference and guys like Suggs were acting like after the game. There is still a long long way to go in this season but the Steelers do have a big uphill climb to win this division now and catch the Ravens no doubt there...

They are all complaining that they didnt have Lamarr Woodley... well, we didnt have Lee Evans.

Agreed. How is the loss of Evans bigger for us? Woodley was Defensive Player of the Month and was near the top of sack leaders. Evans has barely even played a game for us. Torrey pretty much does the same thing Evans does.

No excuses for Woodley being out. Could he have made a difference throughout the game and on the last drive?? Probably but it still doesnt excuse the Steelers defense for allowing Flacco to pick them apart the way he did with 1 timeout. Somebody has to step up on the Steelers defense and make a play and they didnt do it...

Woodley probably would've made a huge difference. But I must say. Harrison proved me wrong. He did not look rusty at all. He was highly motivated in this game to my surprise. Overall our OL looked pretty good against the blitzes though.

Well hopefully there is a 3rd meeting once again come playoff time and Woodley is there this time and the Ravens have all hands on deck as well. The Ravens despite this win last night are still going to have the Steelers breathing right down their necks these last 7 weeks of the season. The Ravens cant afford any hiccups here or the Steelers will be right back in this race they arent going away just yet...

I lost it when they were actually booing Brendon for being hurt. Even if he was faking it to slow down the hurry up, you don't boo a player who's down on the field. What if he had some sort of head injury, and didn't wake up this morning? Classless fans with no respect for anyone. I'm sure some of them are smart (Warden, Prophet, ratedr), but most of them are idiots.
ratedr is a Ravens' fan haha that's such an insult to him.

Don't care about any complaints from other Steelers fans. I heard smack talk from all of those I know that are Steelers fans all week long leading up to 8:20 Sunday night. Then the messages stopped. My neighbor is a Steelers fan. Before I left for work this morning, I left my broom on his front porch.

So far during the regular season we have held our own against the Steelers.

I'll save my complaining for the playoffs.

I'm not sure but I think we get better calls on the road than we do at home?

Am I wrong?

I agree. Its still a very long road. By no way do I think its a cake walk to the playoffs. The win last night definitely put us in a good position. But you guys do have the same amount of wins and the Bengals have the same amount of wins. There can't be any leeway in losing to a team we can beat. We can't afford one single hiccup again. Which will be tough since this team likes to fluctuate so much.

They can complain all they want. I really don't care. We left with a W on the road.

In all fairness. If we lost, we would've been complaining about the refs as well. They were pretty atrocious last night. But on both teams.
To be fair, the commentators got them all fired up. They've got a serious soft spot for the Steelers.

I, for one, enjoy the fact that they cry and make excuses. Just makes it that much more satisfying.

I recommend everybody stop by steelersfever.com and read some of the cry threads. Really puts a smile on the face.
Went to the site and before I really got to responses I noticed a Fire Arians thread. Maybe, just maybe, they're not that much different from us.

I stand corrected. Not the same amount of losses, same amount of wins. Still very little breathing room. The tie-breaker could come in handy.

They all have love for the Steelers...On CBS Shannon Sharpe was the only one who picked the Ravens to win....The Chin and Marino obviously went with Pittsburgh.

I don't think the Steelers are going anywhere but I think they could potentially lose 3-4 more games. Coincidentally I feel the same about the Ravens.

Cinci and the 49ers are looming for both our teams.

BUT

............we gave the steelers their 3rd loss and we own the tie breaker. We just might meet again but until then enjoy the 2nd loss at the hands of the RAVENS!!!

I am on another board and you could interchange the MB's after a loss BUT usually the Ravens fans are quicker to say "good game" and it never counts for the the Steelers if they have anyone of note out. I'm more concerned about the Bengals
