Hey everyone, new member, but not new to boards (been reading for about 4 yrs, someone always voices my opinion), and certainly not new to Ravens football. I lived in Baltimore from 1995 - 2003 and had season tickets for every Ravens season since the original. Moving to Cincinnati in 03 hurt but I've learned to live amongst all these crazy Bengal fans.

To put things into perspective,

I am and have always been a believer in Flacco
I agree with people that think getting rid of Cam would help further his development

anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, I'll be coming back to Baltimore for the very important game against the Bengals, unfortunately, I am bringing several roommates who are all Bengal fans. However, we can't get too far ahead of ourselves, this Seattle game is very important, I am very interested to see how we respond coming off a SECOND Steeler win this year.

As long as we don't let the Seachickens do a "statement game" on us this week I will be happy. Come in hard and leave happy is what I want to see.

GO RAVENS!

We have to win this game because we had to many letdowns this year for raven standards.

I'm actually pretty worried about this game.

We are coming off perhaps the most emotional regular season win of the Flacco/Harbs era. It will be tough to get up for a bad Seattle team, and nothing is automatic in the NFL. Hopefully the Titans and Jags game will be help get us more focused this Sunday.

Yea that's what I'm hoping too. Seattle allows the most sacks, hopefully our D-line will put more pressure on Jackson than they did on Ben. If we take the crowd out of it early, we should be good. And finally, I seriously hope Flacco can stack up some TD passes, his TD #s don't reflect how good he has been, if a couple of those corners don't hold our receivers at the 1 then he has at least 2 more.

http://espn.go.com/n...osition/defense

If you are going by total yardage, yes we'd be ranked 14th, but that can be deceiving. The Hawks have been playing from behind a lot, teams rush more, run out the clock, etc. We've had a lot of rushing attempts against our D.

But the true indicator is the rushing yards per attempt. Most of the season we were #1 in that category. But now are ranked #2 (tied) with your defense. (Thanks DeMarco Murray)
Just wanted to drop by from Seahawks country and say great win yesterday! Congrats! Like a lot of Seahawk fans, my second favorite team is any team that is playing the Stealers! Nice work.

Hopefully we can get some football talk going this week, if you have any Seahawk questions, fire away. I realize most of you probably don't know much about the Hawks, as we don't get much exposure tucked up here in the Pacific Northwest, and aren't exactly lighting the league on fire in our 2nd year of a massive rebuild.

But fire away if you have any questions.

I'll answer some things I already saw in this thread:

Yes, Jackson has a torn pec muscle, but is playing through it. Tough guy.

The defense is actually playing pretty well, the problem is time of possession, they're on the field.... a lot. They wear down. Run defense is very stout, coming into the Dallas game, they lead the NFL in rushing yards per attempt. I believe now we're tied with you at 3.4 yards per attempt which is 2nd in the NFL. Very stout run defense. DeMarco Murray ran well against them, but up until then they've been solid.

We have two young very talented safeties in Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor, both very good. Unfortunately we're banged up at corner, Marcus Trufant and Walter Thurmond are on IR.

Before the lockout they were close to signing Hass, but it didn't happen. During the lockout something happened and the interest cooled on the Seahawks side, they actually let Hass walk. At this point we think they just wanted someone more mobile, durable. Behind this very young inexperienced offenisve line, Hass wouldn't have survived. Jackson is just a bridge QB, a temp, until they find their franchise guy.
Welcome to the boards!

Hey, as Ravens' fans we know all about bridge QBs and that search for the franchise guy. Haven't gotten a chance to actually see you guys play at all this season, so I admit to not really knowing that much about your team. Other than they let us down by not handing those nasty Steelers a loss lol

Rebuilding years can be tough on a fan base. Sometimes it is just what needs to be done though.

It will be tough in that stadium, but I think will win. We CAN'T go in there expecting to win easily though. Cough "Jacksonville" Cough

SteelHaven: thank you for your congratulations. This is the most compeling rivalry in sports and will be intriguing for years...please keep in touch with me. We can share the good and bad, respectively.

Regarding the Ravens game one vs. the same Steelers, Baltimore was fortunate to have a great game right from the start. This was clearly motivational, nay, inspirational!, and I believe as a Ravens fan, from that moment the Ravens were in a trance just waiting for the rematch in Pittsburgh that was this past Sundat night. Tennessee capitalized...Jacksonville capitalized...and yet, here we stand 6-2. I'll take it.

Now the pressure is off: "trap" what you would like Seattle...you won't trap a raven this weekend. The Ravens defense has known exactly what it can and will do from game one. Ravens offense has discovered what it can do...27-6 Ravens v. Seahawks is my guess.

Goodnight, all.

People keep talking about a trap game but I really don't see it this week. Those losses we had taught us some things about our vulnerabilities or unpreparedness which really, every team goes through except the Packers but they even played some tight games.

1. Titans and the quick pass game - hasn't been repeated again this season on our defense. tough tough game for C. Williams, Webb, Nakamura, and our secondary. (our offense also sputtered due to the loss of Grubbs and a rough shod o-line with only a week to preapare after the loss of Grubbs)
2. Jags defense jamming receivers. The Jags have a great defense and really took it to our receivers and did a great job of holding Rice. This was a classic Cam Cameron game not adjusting to what the Jags gave us...which we learned in the 4th qtr was a no huddle Joe out of the Shotgun. Too little too late. I think if we had 2-3 more minutes in that game, we could have won.

Our defense is solid and our offense has learned how to play quick scoring ball when they need to. joe out of the shotgun has been incredible.

This is really going to be a tough game for Seattle IMO. We have Grubbs back and the past 2 games Cam Cameron has really been making the adjustments we all have been screaming for. The only question I have is ............Will Lee Evans be back this week? I know a lot of people probably are willing to wait another week but to me this Seattle game is a perfect time for him to come back and get re-acclimated to game time football. We really need him ready to roll against the Bengals.

I want to see a complete game. I mean one that sends a message to the rest of the teams that jax beating us was unacceptable and things like that wont happen again...

I have to say I've been surprised with how bad Seattle has been offensively this season..... I didn't expect anything from either QB but I thought WR M.Williams would continue to build on his success from last season with the addition of S.Rice taking pressure off of him....

With that said, our defense needs to shut down M.Lynch early, so that they become one-dimensional and the defense can begin to pressure which ever QB plays Sunday.....

Seattle has talent and potential so we should not overlook them because of their record....

M Williams has been pretty bad this year and can't stay on the field. He has 12 catches for 130 yards. Doug Baldwin is the new guy people need to be worried about. Seattle's passing offense is starting to come along with T Jackson. He's averaging over 200 yards a game with 2 300 yard games. Still its not overly scary but it can can produce.

Shut down Lynch (which should be easy). Rattle Jackson. But yea they are very capable of doing a Jacksonville on us.

I'm most worried about Baldwin and Rice... our Run D seems to get gashed at times, and we need to be able to contain Lynch and put the game on Jackson's shoulders.

It's been tough for the offense, new offensive coordinator, new QB, the lock-out really set them back even more not having any OTA's. But they have some talent at wide receiver, tight end, and running back, but the whole system just hasn't synced yet. They have shown flashes...

Plus the offensive line is so young, they are really taking their lumps and learning under fire.

LT, Russel Okung, 1st rounder, 2nd year
LG, Robert Gallery has been in and out of the lineup with injuries
C, Max Unger, 2nd rounder, 3rd year, was on IR 15 games last year
RG, John Moffitt, 3rd rounder, Rookie
RT, John Carpenter, 1st rounder, Rookie

You can see they've invested heavily in the line, but when the season started, excluding Gallery, 4/5ths of the line only had 27 starts between all them. This line was built for the long haul, but as of right now, it's a work in progress.

We need to score up big points to win.
I think this game is gonna be a break-out game for Ray Rice, who was probably tired from the last few games when the refs kept on bothering him.
Especially that 72 yard touchdown. How bad do you think he felt when he got that removed for no reason?

So yeah, I see this as being a repeat of the Rams game in my opinion.
Joe Flacco will have fair numbers. Maybe 300 yards if he's feeling good. 250 yards if he's okay.
Seahawks' defense isn't something amazing. Hell, even the Jaguars and Arizona have a better defense, so offense shouldn't have any problems.
Unfortunately, I feel as though Cam is gonna go conservative on a game that could easily turn the other way, so... yeah

I'm feeling 36-10. Defense gets it done with two picks.

I want this to be over with ASAP so we can focus on the Bengals who are quietly taking care of business consistently.

Lee Evans is actually planning to play this game. So i'd love to see how he does!! I think if we play well and smart this will be a good game for him to start. (after missing so many games)

Only the fourth meeting between these two teams, games one & two barely went our way and game three we got trounced. Just because the Seahawks are playing poorly this season doesn't mean they aren't playing. As John Harbaugh would say, "every team in the National Football League is a good team, they wouldn't be here if they weren't". So this Sunday we are going up against a good football team.

It's not perfect, but as the Ravens organization carries on and it gathers more data, it should only get better at predicting scores. Right now, it's doing a fantastic job of just predicting wins-losses. Takes a lot of work to keep it up to date however.
