Pretty Crazy Flacco Stat I Saw On Espn

24 posts in this topic

... to throw for 300+ yards with no interceptions in a road win against the Steelers since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. Just shows you how hard it is to even play well against the Steelers at home. Not sure who the other four are (I'm willing to bet Brady is one of them), but still, when you think about how many great quarterbacks have come through this league in the last 40 years, for Flacco to do this against what has traditionally been the class of the NFL defensively is very impressive to me.

And the accolades keep stacking up...as the nay sayers keep putting him down, hes just amounting 42 wins in 3 and 1/2 years, 3 playoff appearances, beating Pitt in monumental fashion, great TD/INT ratio (generally...this year has started slow, overall) and more!! Love it!!

Yea I saw that too. It's only happened 5 other times or something like that according to that stat they showed last night. Brady did it last year, somebody else did it in 2009 but I can't remember who it was, and the other two happened back in the day. Solid stuff from Joe last night.

you know those stats maybe impressive but at the end of the day they won´t shut the guys down that hate on joe flacco since he is in the nfl. for me he is really starting to grow this year. HE is winning us some games and you just can trust him to get his job done. like i said a few weeks before. we have just seen that much out of joe flacco that we needed him to do. he can do everything that we want him to do.

manage games. moving chanes. keeping opposing offenses off the field. throwing game winning tds.

i didn´t even know that he had already 8 4th quarter comebacks for a win. that is also very impressive.

but for some people he will just be a good qb if he beats ben in the playoffs or win a Super Bowl. and even then it is doubtful that he can shut them up all...

Yeah, but I really don't care about the haters at all. My issue was with myself: I was really starting to doubt Flacco after the Jags debacle. I defended him anyway because I know he's got a terribly inconsistent offensive line, but still I was starting to worry that maybe Flacco just didn't have what it takes to lead us to a Superbowl. I have no doubts now. There are so many things people kept saying about him i.e. game manager, not clutch, can't beat Roethlisberger, can't beat the Steelers at home, not a leader, etc., and in my view he's proven every one of those wrong this year. And he's only going to get better.

Joe doesn't get enough credit for his comeback wins. He has also brought us back other times just for our defense to fold and give up the score like the Falcons game last season or when Hauschka missed the game winning FG against the Vikings a few years back. Joe has had his ups and downs, but has shown consistent growth from year to year and has done nothing to deserve the criticism he has endured.

Look at the adversity Joe had to deal with just last night with all of the dropped balls. Unbelievable pressure was put on Joe last night and he still kept it cool and made the play when he needed to. I don't mind putting the blame on a guy when he doesn't show up and do his job, but Joe isn't that guy. His attitude and poise is everything you want in my opinion. So what if he isn't fiery with his answers on camera and he shows less emotion than most guys in league. He is a winner, period! As this offense continues to get built around Joe, and Ray Rice, I only see better things to come. Enjoy the ride folks!

i hear you! i didn´t really doubt him. i was just sad about the inconsistent play. but that was the whole team i guess. he now has two wins for us in a row. i hope they carry on the momentum and don´t take it easy on the seahawks...

i am glad that we won because of that! if we had lost we would defend joe now that it wash´t his fault with all the dropped passes. i am glad to see how much confidence he has in torrey. in a few years that will be a great combo!!!

Nice stat, had no idea at all. Joe has turned me around for sure. Just wish he could be more aware in the pocket and not have so many fumbles, They scare the heck out of me as a lot of injuries come out of the scramble to get the ball.

Now with Grubbs back in the line-up I'm hoping that left side begins to protect Better in second half of season maybe flacco completion pct will creep back up to the normal 60%+ area.

Agreed, Ben Grubbs really makes an absolutely huge difference with this team. Gurode did okay but he is no Grubbs who in my opinion when healthy might be a top 5 left guard in the league. I hope Ozzie and the front office see this and try to give Grubbs a deal as i really dont want to see him go. Especially if we need to find a new LT Grubbs could help a young LT have an immediate impact by helping him pick up blitzes and working with whoever it may be on the left side assuming Mckinnie doesnt stay

Good stat, another example of the types of things people need to keep in perspective. Joe, he's still young but has had a lot of success.
Not to mention, we left about 100 passing yards on the field with drops and such.

This 300 yard game puts him at a career high 4 for the season. This is as many as he has had the last two years combined, in only 8 games. This offense is growing very nicely right now.

What people often take for granted is that performing well against the Steelers is not an easy thing to do. Only elite QBs such as Brady do it with any regularity. Well Joe just played his best ball and won against them twice. I'm not saying he's elite, he needs more week to week consistency, but they can no longer say he isn't capable of putting the game on his shoulders against good teams.

I have never doubted our QB but was beginning to wonder if the young wr's and te's along with the line were going to be too much to overcome. I never knew how good Grubbs was lol

I guess if you ask Cam politely he could fit Tyrod in as a starting receiver for a game. That's the only way he'd ever start

And even they lay an egg against them, like a couple weeks ago.

This was such a huge game for Joe. I kind of wish I knew him, just so I could call him right now and just say, "What a game, man."

Well, you'd have to phrase it so that Cam thinks it was his own idea before he accepts change!!
