Who Was Calling The Plays?

7 posts in this topic

Can anybody tell me who was calling the plays, especially on the game-winning drive? BTW, I'm definitely not watching a single Ravens game live for the rest of this season. 5 for 5 in games I didn't watch, 0 for 2 in the games I did.

I think the normal routine was followed, just at a faster pace. The tempo was up all game. Not much pure hurry-up, but just getting to the line faster. Normally, Flacco will get under center with about 4 - 8 seconds left, but last night he was getting up there much quicker. I think the pace the offence had last night was just about perfect for them. It has been obvious to most of us for the last few years that Flacco and the offense play better up-tempo, and I think Cam has turned a page here, hopefully lol. You never know with that guy though. :)

I was thinking towards the end that Flacco was calling his own plays when he went into the up-tempo of the last drive.

Flacco took control on that drive... I'm sure Cam had some input after an incompletion or something like that, but even then, it looked as if Joe had complete autonomy to do what he wanted to do.

I'm sure they talked about it during the 2-minute warning, but there's no denying Flacco had most of the say during the game winning drive. There was simply not enough time for Cam to call the exact play when running the no huddle like that. Between last week and that final drive, Flacco has really shown he deserves more freedom in this offense.
