Romo Ravens

Phobia/fear?

31 posts in this topic

I'm scared of spiders. I can't even touch one. The more and more that I think about it, it's a dumb obsession. It's just a spider. But everytime I see one, I get the chills, and my body starts to itch.

I'm the same way with worms. Whenever I'm in Wyoming for some hiking/fishing, I can NEVER touch a worm to put it on the hook, so whoever is with me has to do it for me.

I also hate germs. I can never touch a bathroom door knob. I'll have to take a paper towel to put on my hand to open it. I even hardly ever use public sinks to wash my hands!

What are some of your weird fears/phobias?

I would get very rattled and uncomfortable with clowns when I was a kid growing up and I would avoid going to any friends' parties that involved a clown. Thank you horror movies.

As for present phobias.. I'm not that much of an insects fan in general and cockroaches in particular.. Yuck!

A friend of mine is the same way. Quite funny, he's a 6'5", 400 lb biker dude, and cowers like a little girl if he sees even the smallest of spiders.

Terrified of spiders. Ever since a spider fell off my ceiling while I was trying to sleep one night, into my covers, never found, I will never touch one. I want to invent a spray that can spread over the earth and kill EVERY spider. That bad.

Heights, but it depends on the situation. If I know I'm safely restrained, I'm okay. So I have no problem with roller coasters. However, if I'm not, such as being on a rooftop of a building with no barriers, I start to freak out.

Snakes if I'm out in the wild. I used to live in Arizona, and I pretty much just assumed that any snake I would see while out there was a rattlesnake.

I feel real silly for sharing this, but I have done work as a clown, and I have had two pet tarantulas and one pet snake... but the thing that freaks me out is hallways.

If I have to walk down a hallway, I get very agitated and almost start shaking.

I don't care!!! No spiders = happy world. I'm going to release a hairy tarantula in your house, and see what you think then!

I dont know if its a phobia or what but I CAN NOT chew gum in a restroom.
In my own home or in public it doesnt matter. As soon as I walk in I start gagging and spit the gum out right away. As soon as I leave
every thing is back to normal.

Heights, big spiders (small ones don't bother me, but I'll smash any that I see regardless), and clowns (the one from IT creeped me out when I was little. Just the murderous types of clowns really. If I saw one at the fair I wouldn't care.)

Hate snakes. Can't stand 'em. The only way I can stand to be near them is if I have a sharp object in my hand or a firearm.

I used to be scared of spiders, but they only startle me now. They don't freak me out like they used to.

I also hate the part on plane rides when you ascend and descend. Something about changing elevation so rapidly that bothers me. Otherwise, I'm fine being on a plane when it's perfectly level.

You'd love flying to south Africa then, 14 hours of perfectly level, lol. I'm a mess during takeoff and landing as well. Didn't help that I discovered a website that has black box recordings. People say crazy stuff just before they crash.

Absolutely terrified of needles. I have tried everything to get over it because I want to give blood but I am starting to accept that it might never happen. That scene in Saw 2, well, let's just say it was a mistake seeing it in theaters...

I'm also terrified to mix chemicals. I heard a story about how some guy almost poisoned himself mixing bleach with something and I won't go near the stuff. It didn't help when I had to take CHEM101 and I mixed the wrong thing and the room had to be evacuated.

Ceiling Fans. Just paranoid sometimes when I'm standing under them.

So, I am NOT the only one who doesn't trust those things. I refuse to have them in my house.
