Suggestion To Mr. Cameron And Offense From A Homer Fan.

7 posts in this topic

Honestly ever since week 1, i havent seen any game that even resembles a even mediocre offense. We need to keep things simple, and use what works and stop fooling around with dumb plays that just simply wont WORK.

For one, why are we taking so LONG to snap a ball on offense? I've never seen any other offense take so long to snap a ball so slow that we get delay of games at least once every quarter of the game. If our o-line sucks, then at least try to speed things up with no huddle offense to keep our fresh WRs moving since they barely get to move/stay on field anyway. No huddle seemed to work wonders on cardinals on 2nd half, and steelers 1st half. USE IT. No playcall that Cam Cameron digs up in his playbook wasting 30seconds is going to outsmart the steelers D' & dick lebeau.

Secondly, why do we insist NOT using Tandon Doss (its week 7 already!), who in my opinion is the most impressive player from preseason. Is 2vertical threat that a bad thing? If deep passes are covered well, why cant we use our 2verticle threat that worked so well last year?(mason & boldin). People almost write that off as almost a bad thing, but to be honest, mason and boldin being on field were probably the most cosistent way of gaining yards and staying on field. I beileve Tandon can be a younger replica of Derrick Mason. Remember everytime we switched Mason/Boldin to stallworth/TJ(so called 'Deep threats'), things usually went downhill FAST..

3rd, why do we not use Leach as a FB more? I swear every time i see him, half the time his trying to be Leron McClain and rush for yards or be a 300pound receiver (i dont thin he gained more than 10yards ever in a game). Use the man for what he is good at. His a Probowl FB. Stop using the big guy as a receiver, your not fooling ANYONE cam cameron!

Just my suggestion to you cam cameron the the o-crew. Homer out.

What?

1) We played, at the very least, above average games on offense against the Rams, Texans, and Cardinals.

2) I agree that we're too lethargic on offense and need to speed it up. The no-huddle worked wonders against the Cardinals. If we let the play clock run down too late we also give the defense an easy key on the snap count, which can be disastrous.

3) What are you talking about here? The two vertical threat? What does that even mean? Most teams have 2 WRs on the field at all times, it's only when we go three or four wide that we bring in different receivers for the most part. Do you realize "vertical threat" and "deep threat" mean pretty much the exact same thing? I guess you're just trying to say play Doss more which I can't argue with I'd like to see him get some looks myself.

4) When do we ever NOT use Leach as a fullback? What does that even mean? I've never seen him lined up anywhere else, we don't really have him rush at all. He gets a few passes thrown his way but the vast majority of his snaps he's driving the defense into the dirt with his blocking. Did you notice the rushing TDs last game? Or EVERY TIME we run the ball out of the I-formation? That's Leach in there. I don't really know what you want from him. Yes, he's a CHECKDOWN option in a few passing plays when he doesn't have anyone to block. It's not like he's the focus of our passing game.

Ahhh..huh? As said in the previous post, our offense has shown to be quite effective in our victories. The reason we've always seemed slow on the uptake where the huddle is concerned is because Mr. Cameron likes to take forever sometimes to call in a play, and I also believe the offense themselves get confused at times; especially with crowd noise on the road we seem to routinely burn at least one timeout for no other reason then to get reset. Obviously, even though you (and I've seen plenty of others too) believe Doss to be impressive during the pre-season, apparently he isn't showing that off very well to the coaching staff. They don't always make the best on the field decisions, but they've been pretty impressive when it comes to deciding who gets playing time.

Mason was never a vertical threat  , which is one reason we let him go to get younger, and why we grabbed Evans. Having Boldin and Mason together was like having Mason and his younger, larger clone both playing the same style and it wasn't working at all. If you think Doss is that type of receiver, then no wonder he hasn't seen the field yet. Umm....I don't know about you, but all I've seen from Leach aside from a few carries and a flat route pass chucked his way is him being a human bowling ball, knocking defensive guys on their butts' all season.

I believe he said "since Week 1" so I wasn't including that game. But yes, we played a PHENOMENAL game against the Steelers. Can't really complain about anything in that game.

I assumed he was speaking for the entire season that started on Week 1. You're probably right though. Doesn't hurt to point out regardless, we whooped 'em!

No offense, but other than speeding up the play calling in the no huddle and giving doss some time on the field, i dont think you have much of a point. And id like to think the coaching staff knows more than us about who could contribute on the field, so if i dont see doss out there i assume he isnt ready, so i thin one of your points in flawed. As far as leach, what are you expecting, hes doing exactly what we brough him in to do, the reason you see him catching some passes is because thats joes checkdown if he cant find anyone else, i highly doubt that Cam is drawing up plays in the passing game with leach the number one option, just saying. and like someone else stated above...Mason a vertical threat? maybe in 2002, but never for us, him and boldin were both posession WRs, thats why we let him go.
