Philip Rivers?!

Is he still an elite QB? He's thrown only thrown 7 TD and has 11 INT and 3 lost fumbles, throwing 2 in 5 games, including 2 in the 1st Quarter against the Chiefs. He only made half of his passes against a struggling Jets team, for 179 yd. He threw 0 TD against the atrocious (at the time) KC D. The only 2 Ds he threw 2 more than 2 TD, his season high, were the last-ranked Pats and the inconsistent Vikings. He has some of the best offensive weapons and a sturdy D to back him up.

Honestly, he's shredding his elite status imo. The second pick was off of a deflection, but he should have had one before that anyway where either Carr or Flowers (can't remember which) dropped it on a go route. He's 12/19 164 yds 2 INTs in the first half.

Something about this lockout has good players playing all screwey. All you have to do is look at guys like Rivers, Flacco, and Ryan.

I said early he did not seem like the same Rivers this season. Could be he's just having a bad season. Could be something else going on. They said early something about him injuring his sternum.

I'll agree, but man Aaron Rodgers must be the lone exception to that because he is still playing like he did during the Playoff run.

Crazy he shook off a nasty dislocated left ringer finger on that botched snap at the end of regulation. These guys really play off adrenaline and feel little pain until afterwards!

If Flacco made a mistake like that, he would be absolutely crucified. This is why I tell people to watch other games whenever they're picking on Flacco. Other QBs make mistakes ALL THE TIME. But if they have a Super Bowl ring (Brees, Roethlisberger, Brady) everything is forgiven because they've won it all before. Brady just threw for under 200 yards against the Steelers, Brees lost to the Rams and looked bad. Roethlisberger had all those turnovers in week 1. I say we need to back off of Flacco and let him make mistakes and grow, because he hasn't been given the same opportunity to play the way those QBs do. We have to let him sling it around and get used to it.

Another QB having a bad year. This is why I don't believe the Chargers are underrated (another thread in this section of the boards).

They'll either miss the playoffs or go one and done again.

I'm more hoping that the Titans get it together so the Texans do not make the playoffs, Gary Kubiak gets fired and we can bring Gary Kubiak in as Offensive Coordinator.

I don't get why they'd be tainted. Getting to the Superbowl with 2 weeks of prep before preseason is nothing to sneeze at. I think it's a GREAT accomplishment.

It's a helluva lot better than winning the Superbowl in an abbreviated season (i.e. 8 game season).
