If Suggs shows up and has another big game against Pittsburgh on the national stage, he'll get on the radar.

I would say that now Suggs Chance have drastically improved. Since this was last talked about lol

13 sacks, 6 Forced Fumbles, 2 ints. With 3 games left to play. Now his sacks are high enough to over take guys like D.Ware because Suggs affects the game on so many more levels!!

If Polamalu doesn't have to be #1 in INTs to win DPOY, Suggs shouldn't have to lead the league in sacks to win it. If only he too had a marquee, game-changing play against a division rival for the #1 position in his division... oh wait, he DID. Be picked off Roethlisberger and saved at least a FG.

I think if he ends with 15+ sacks, and shows up in the playoffs like he did last year and helps us win a SB, he has a very good shot at it.
Only thing that would hurt him is that we have another DPOY candidate on the line in Ngata.

Last Yr should have been Ed Reed again. I mean to miss 6 games and still lead the league in ints make that type of impact is unheard of.

Seem like league thought to themselves wait Ed Reed has a DPOY award already, heck even Bob Sanders has won it, let's give it to Polamula for all that he has done.....

Not to mention his epic ownage/quote of Roethlisberger in Week 1. Outrageous!

He's definitely on the inside track to the award, especially if he keeps putting up 3-sack games

I still don't think Suggs gets enough credit for re-dedicating himself, and having all his hard work show up on the field these 2 seasons. Remember Suggs got paid came out of shape had one of his worst statistical seasons in 2009. And then bounce back strong in great shape in 2010 and now 2011 he has step it up to an even higher level... He is not just a pass rusher. He is also a great run defender.

suggs has been a monster this year. his overall body of work is ridiculous for his position. might be one of the best overall seasons for a d end that i can remember. its always hard for a player from a small market team to win it and the ravens really get slighted in the media imo. but i think that the fact that peter king has him on the mvp watch list should catapult him in the dpoy rankings. either way i think he will continue to be a monster and do his best to bring a championship to bmore, which is all that matters

If Suggs gets to 15 sacks this year its a wrap, hes DPOY. Dude has as many fumbles forced as Clay Matthews does sacks and only Suggs and Allen have passes defensed stats for players in the top like 20 in sacks.

ball so hard university is pretty popular...espn and all them was making a big deal out of it. i ain't even notice what he said until it was brough up after the game. suggs shows up on espn quite often as well....people know who he is and he is performing.

I think his chances just improved after Ware and the rest of the Cowboys got nothing against what is considered a poor O-line. In prime time no less (where Suggs shows up most).

actually it's bewteen suggs and Tim Tebows (he made the defense play better and his offensive line block for him unlike kyle orton....can't explain it, but it's definetly the only change post kyle orton....*still can't make sense of it*)

He's totally annihilating teams right now, and Jared Gaither awaits him on Sunday Night... I like his chances to get at least 2 more sacks this week.

He strengthens his chances each and every week. If he keeps it up, it will take a very special performance by someone else to take it from him.

Despite the fact he's behind almost 5 sacks from the leading sack guy....I failed to realize he has more INTs and FF's over Ware and Allen...so I think its safe to say he's hot a really good chance..at least in the top 4 right now..

Suggs for DPOY? The dude is in the discussion of league MVP so I would say its pretty much a wrap.

Get to 15 sacks and I think he's the frontrunner. Yeah Ware and Allen, and maybe Babin, may end up with more sacks, but Suggs does more, is more versatile, and I think voters know this. Besides, like I said, Allen and Babin play for losing teams, and in the last 10-15 years or so I think only 2 guys won the award who's teams failed to make the playoffs that season, so in my view it is right now Ware vs. Suggs.

Great point, I forgot I should have counted Tebow into the mix, just as ESPN gives him credit for anything the Defense does with 4 Pro Bowlers (C.Bailey, DJ Williams, B.Dawkins, E.Dummervil) and soon to be 5th in Von Miller.... lol......

Suggs and A.Rodgers had better watch out Tebow may sweep all the awards this year defensive and offensive lol

Right now it's a toss up between Jared Allen and Suggs, you can't say it's a wrap. Jared Allen deserves it, but so does Suggs. Don't care much for Ware, he's just a pass rusher. We still have 3 more games left and Suggs is on fire, he's racked up 7 sacks and 4 FF in the last 3 games. If he finishes strong with another 5-6 (~ 18-19 total) sacks he'll probably win it unless Allen breaks the record.

I agree with this. Jared has more sacks but Suggs has more FF, INTs and pass deflections. If voting was today, I think Jared would win it. I can't see Ware winning it.

But who I am really surprised about is Jason Pierre-Paul. The guy has really stepped up as an elite D-lineman in the NFL. Although he won't win DPOY this year, I could see him doing so in upcoming year. This guy's raw talent has really translated to the NFL.

Yeah, he's been fantastic this season both against the run and the pass. Same as Von Miller. I wanna see what they do next season when offenses try to shut them down. They'll be getting a lot more attention next season.
