This Game May Be Just What The Dr Ordered

14 posts in this topic

Joe probably has more confidence in the wake of today's game. It also showed his comfort in the hurry up offense, something we should look into to keep the offense going. I think it would come in handy against the Steelers. They may not expect it. (I expect them to use it on us though)

Throughout a season you are a work in progress and you have to find out things about your team. The Ravens found out that they can score points in bunches in a desperate situation. We have never seen this team come so far behind. I think we also saw Torrey get even better and Joe found out just how good and what kind of weapon Anquan really is. I think he knew he had something and they had chemistry but I think he really saw that he has a person that can take over a game out there in Anquan.

I think we needed this game. We needed to react this way on Monday night but we didn't. Now we have some new knowlegde about our team.

Now we have to put it together to take out the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

Going into the Steelers game with Flacco's head back on his shoulders, we will be more confident if the team is behind late in the game.

I don't expect Joe to have confidence next weekend. Not that I am bashing him. I just don't expect it with the Steelers defense and it being in Pittsburgh. If it was in Baltimore, I may expect a little.

I think most people who don't support Flacco (Including myself) probably shouldn't be too hard on him next weekend. Just for the fact we all know how these games usually go. Just a straight up street fight -- where even the ref's can't contain them.

I think he will have confidence. I do think the confidence will break down if the Steelers get pressure on him early and often. But the Steelers couldn't manufacture pressure in week one and next week there is a chance that the Steelers won't be at full strength next week. Harrison has been out, may be back and Woodley hurt his hamstring and may not be 100% for the next game. We will see but the Steelers may not pressure Joe as much as usual. I surely hope not anyway.

It's never how you start, it's how you finish.

Yes, the first half should be cause for concern, but it's not panic button-worthy, especially with how vastly different the entire team looked in the second half.

The main thing to take away is that the Ravens can rally when needed. There are gut-check situations every season, and the Ravens have responded more often than not in the past two seasons. These gut-check scenarios appear most often in the playoffs, and if the Ravens are to make a deep postseason run, they'll need to continue to learn to win games like this, even when they struggle.

I liked how the responded in the second half, especially after last week. It would have been easy for them to just lay down and die. The D certainly dialed it up (man, these guys are definitely built right on defense for when the weather gets nasty this Winter). One thing I noticed was in the post-game, when they asked Joe about the hurry up. The way he talked about it (and I could easily be reading into it), it was almost like he was trying to make a point to someone. That they play really well in the up-tempo no huddle/hurry up offense. Wonder if that was a reminder to someone.

Going into the Pittsburgh next week coming off what I believe is the biggest comeback in team history has to be good for the confidence of this team. If we can sweep Pittsburgh, I think we could ride that to the playoffs. We'll certainly have the inside track to winning the AFC North.

yeah, its definitely a confidence boost. Next week is gonna take one heckuva game plan though. We made the half time adjustments today, but I can guarantee that Pitt wont be givin boldin the sideline all game, nor will flacco have that much time to throw from the shotgun consistently.

props for today though.

From what I have seen, when we spread people out there are not many people in this league than can stop us. And no it is not because we can do this to a struggling Cards team but the Fact that when we did it in Jax and Cam did not screw it up, we were doing just fine.

Unfortunately I think we get bounced by Pitt in the playoffs again because Cam cameron is going to have his head swimming matching wits with a defensive genius when he is honestly imo the worst OC we have had in our brief history. And yes we have had worse offenses but when have we had half the talent.

Now next year a solid year under these guys and Cam free we could dominate this league.

I would love to win now and I hope I am wrong but I doubt it Cam will be the reason we lose this year. SO I will drink a beer and pray I am wrong.

I dont think Cavanaugh nor Fassel had the talent that Cam has at his disposal. Their offenses definitely weren't pretty, but they didnt have the talent that Cam has.

Again I said in my opinion, but I think cam had squandered more talent than either of those guys have ever had

If he doesnt have confidence from this game he should be able to get it from week 1. Its gonna be a rough game. I say with no dropped passes and limited overthrows we can take this game.
