Who's Your Qb? Mine Is Clutch

I cant believe how many people hate on Joe, he continues to pick this team up, and what a great catch by Torrey Smith

...even the refs couldnt steal this game from us, I was nervous as hell....

Joe Flacco is the man, and all you haters need to understand the team concept, the OL is a big factor in a good QB's play....and his weapons, and the playcalling

Joe is clutch though, he made big throws against the Texans and again today
Joe is Clutch? Really?

Was he Clutch in the Jacksonvile Game, the Titans game, every Steelers game before 2011, Minus The game last season when he threw the game winner to TJ, The Patriots game when he had five drives and couldnt get in field goal range, the Cinncinati game last season, The Texans game last season where the offense folded in the second hald, and the D bailed us out the; every game he has played against the Colts, and I could go on.

Joe is not clutch at all, he is the furtherst thing from clutch, Look at Joe's QB Rating in the post season when clutch matters, not when he has a "comeback" win at home against the browns in september

Please humor me by reminding me all of the games Joe came back and won for us.

Joe and clutch used in the same sentence is a contradiction.

Please carry on your discussion of whether or not Joe is "clutch", but the next person who insults or otherwise attacks any other poster is getting booted for a week.

You have been warned. Do NOT push it.

First of all, if you're using stats then you're not including the pass interference calls in the end zone. Joe doesn't get a TD for that, or any yards. We got the ball at the 1 twice for easy TDs, that was Joe's production. And we all know he can play better, but he has to be doing things that he believes in, not what Cam wants.

And how many young QBs have been that clutch in the playoffs? You're comparing him to some of the best QBs ever, that's why you're so down on him. He's capable of playing well in the NFL. That much is certain. The inconsistency of the offense in general makes me want to see him away from Cam Cameron, and I would hope you wouldn't bail on him just because he hasn't won us a SB in his first 3 seasons.

I'll try and find some information for you. You can't just discount what you don't want to hear, i.e., 'Steelers before 2011, Browns at home'. Stay tuned!

Clutch is such a funny concept to begin with anyway...
Versus the Falcons, at Pitt, NE, and Minnesota in '09, at WC Tenn in 08.
And yes, most of these are losses so it's probably inaccurate to call Joe "clutch", but it's also unfair to label him a slow minded, blank-faced game manager of a QB.

ok fine he played well today leading us back. he played one good half of football in an october game against a meaningless opponent. but that doesnt mean he's a clutch player. clutch players consistently perform well in clutch situations. all i have to say is look at his play and qb rating in hte postseason!

As far as the Steelers games go, Week 4 in 2010 is burned into my memory. Flacco's late pass to Housh was one of the best plays by Flacco I've ever seen. And Flacco has put us in position to win games, like in the Vikings game in 2009 where he was spectacular, but then Steven Hauschka let us down. Or in the Falcons game last year where he led a drive to score a touchdown, but then the defense let the Falcons come back and score. The list goes on.

So your entire argument is predicated on the fact that since Joe hasn't won us a Super Bowl, no other game on the way to the Super Bowl (you know, meaningless games like inter-divisional games against the Browns or playoff wins) matters and therefore his performance in them doesn't matter? just keep going with the excuses. its never going to be joes fault. his only good postseason game was against a team that did not deserve to be on the field with us. we were clearly better. everyone needs to stop making excuses for joe

Wait, wait. So you're okay with making excuses for why Joe SHOULDN'T get accolades for games he plays well in but you're not okay with 'excuses' for when he doesn't? Once again, Oooooookay.

look at how he plays in big games. i dont count the browns at home in september a big game. i count the steelers games in the playoffs a big game or the colts game in the playoffs a good game. just look at the stats when it matters

Stats != Excuses, my friend.

Just because we, as fans, don't think X team deserves to be on the field with us doesn't mean a thing. They are all professional teams. A comeback at home against the Cardinals, or the Browns, is worth just as much as a blowout on the road vs the Steelers in the win column.

It's amazing what Flacco can do when the pocket isn't caving in on him.

agreeded,so many haters blaming flacco when clearly if Flacco doesnt have time to be in the pocket and throw he wont get good throws and then all the fair weather fans back to being nice

Boldin was clutch. Ray Rice was clutch. One INT and 0 TD's is not clutch, LOL

Ball was dropped by Smith and picked off...Flacco could have just as easily had 3TDs.

so a heartbreaking loss to the steelers in the divisional playoffs is worth the same as a loss on the road to the pats? no, when the stage is the biggest, he is his worst
