Who's Your Qb? Mine Is Clutch

195 posts in this topic

I use to be a Flacco hater until I finally started watching the game closely an understanding where the blame really should be placed. If you never give your offense a chance then how can you get mad at them about the execution. Its hard to execute when your game plan is already know. Its like asking them to play our defense and wondering why they are not getting open.

They need to continue to work Flacco in the shotgun from time to time. He is most comfortable in that formation, and with the hurry up offense he is better at distinguishing what the defense is going to do. He isn't very good with complicated looks.

I lost faith some of my faith in Joe last week, after being one of his staunchest supporters. I regret it now, he brought us back today. All of my blame for the offensive woes shifts to mostly Cam with some room for OL on there, as it should be.
I was that way last year but your right it does fall on Cam an the O-line.

Just Win baby! the no huddle/shotgun NEEDS to be in the gameplan from here on out. Joe was getting rid of the ball faster in the second half. Gives me so much more confidence watching him fire the ball consistently coming out of his drop.

Man get out of here beating your chest, I think we are all happy the Ravens won. Why is it considered hate because someone has a viewpoint opposite of what yours may be. Don't hurt yourself coming down off your high horse.

Don't tell me you've missed all the over the top threads about starting Tyrod or trading Flacco for Boller have you big guy? There has been nothing but absolute hate for Joe since last week's game against Jax. Seeing as how scrock has been saying the same things about the offense for a bit, I'd say he's earned a little time up there on his horsie. Give him some hay and relish in our victory sir!

I hope it is now obvious to all that Joe has the abilities to lead us deep into the post season.

It was amazing to see the real change in his confidence and play when allowed to get in a rhythm.
Last week watching him stare at the sidelines waiting for plays was awful. He absolutely needs to be given more control.

Even the Flacco haters around me were sticking up for him. So many drops, shoddy protection, poor start, but our whole team came through. Great game.

I thought Joe started the game throwing very well. The run game was extremely efficient and it helped in a big way, The second quarter Joe was just horrible though and nobody was helping him either. The second half was a thing of beauty though. Joe could have had 3 TD's had he put the ball where they needed to be but it didn't matter with the way he was able to move the chains or how the WR's were causing PI calls. I have never questioned Joe as the answer to our long lasting QB problem since this franchise was brought into the league, but his inconsistent play this season has been a little troubling. Either way he came through with an amazing comeback today and I'm looking for a better start and overall game come next week. It's time to take this division back. Beat the Steelers!!!

This. Next week when Joe isn't so stellar for two quarters, more than half of the people on this forum will want him gone. He's a roller coaster, and I didn't realize no TD's with one INT is clutch. I thank the defense for today, the pass rush was great.

The shotgun + no/muddle-huddle worked excellently. Short passes underneath with an occasional shot downfield. The Cardinals had no answer for it.

I was very pleased to see Flacco play the way he did today. Hopefully its obvious to all the Flacco haters that Cam is the problem, not Joe.

Geez, we ran the ball instead of throwing for a td because we were 2 yards away from the endzone.

Joe brought the team back with multiple throws.Boldin in the 3rd quarter was out of control!

This is just the type of win to propel us to another Steelers victory!

Oh and the pick was all on Torrey if you watched the play.Torrey redeemed
himself with the superb catch to get us in position to score to win!

We shouldn't have been down by 21 (I believe) at halftime. Flacco fumbles the ball too easily and still can't seem to get on the same page as Torrey. If Flacco sucks next week, it'll be because "we're playing the Steelers!".

..."But we beat them the first week!"

We have got to put together a complete game on offense.

And I don't mean TD's/FG's every possession.. at least win the field positions battle AND stop turning the ball over in our own territory.

Today was the the biggest comeback in Ravens history according to the stats.

But Joe was not clutch? LOL.

Ha....do you know what 'real' means? It means looking at what's real. What's real is that Flacco was clutch as heck out there today, and any sort of rebuttal to that straight up fact would just sound ridiculous. If he wasn't clutch, he wouldn't have been clutch today and plenty of other games.....and yet the real fact is that he has been. I'm not sure what you think you're being real about, but if we're discussing how clutch Joe was today, gotta man up and admit he pulled us back from the brink today.

You're looking at the end sheet stats, and trying your hardest not to look at what actually happened in the game. Since you're just going to ignore that in favor of looking quite silly, I'll let you pretend you know what you're talking about. Hey, I'm in a festive mood!

Here we go. Whatever you say bud. I'll take Ray Rice's 3 TD performance, or the pass rush's awesome day over Flacco. Like I said, I like him, but he wasn't clutch. Clutch means driving down the field against the Jaguars and winning the game, not throwing the pick. Now that's real.

I'm done here.. you guys get so mad over opinions. In my opinion, Flacco is not clutch. Does an opinion make me wrong? No. I'll stick with it till I see otherwise. Go Ravens!

...... You called me bud?! :P How did Rice get those three TDs, hmm? Perhaps it was because Flacco threw great passes and Boldin made great catches to get them there? Probably not by your estimate, your T.V. must have been showing different stuff, like Ray Rice ripping off 60 yard runs to score those TDs but the rest of us saw Flacco coming up hot and making great throws, leading his offense down the field and Vonta Leach putting great blocks on guys at the goal line so Rice could score. Why are you talking about the Jags game when we were quite obviously discussing today's game, where Flacco performed awesomely? Oh, probably because you're still pretending you have a leg to stand on. My bad!

I'm not mad man, I'm just kind of astounded at the stance you're taking. It's like saying, 'I just don't believe Ripken is an Iron Man,' right after watching him surpass Gehrig's consecutive games record..it doesn't make sense Ahh, the mods don't mind a good debate!
