The Jaguar Loss Has Shaken My Faith

What I don't understand is given the talent we have on offense how do you remain this inconsistent?
Ngata switching over to help the left side of the offense out may have to become a permanent thing..

Yeah the left side of the O-line is the most important yet we have a Center playing Guard
And a LT that's not in shape and was released by another team .

Not good .

I wouldn't really be worried if this was a 1 time thing. But the offense looked flat out pathetic against Jacksonville, Tennessee, and NY. Add all that together, and its a major concern.

Im just disappointed because our offense has failed this team for years, it looked like they were making progress and they go out on Monday Night and put on that performance....

I know we can still be dangerous but things need to turn around quick, we have to get the run game going,as well as get our TEs involved more.....get Boldin started early, hit on some deep routes to Torrey, etc

I really think Cam is gone after this year and then maybe we will finally see the offense we all know we can have

i wouldn´t bet too much on that one. i mean we are 4-2. possibly ending up in the playoffs. maybe winning a few playoff games or whatever. i just don´t see us getting rid of cam after a overall successful season.

i am not sure if he is holding anyone back or if it´s the players who cannot produce. i say it is worth a shot to get rid of him and see where the ship goes. it cannot get much worse on offense, can it?

exactly. we won against the jets because of our defense. if only our offense could get it done every week like ray and his guys are doing on the other side...

My expectations have changed dramatically as well. I think we just have too much new offensive personnel to get our timing down.
The whole left 0-line is different,Oher is back at Rt after 2 years? Yanda back to RG. Two new TE's. Rookie receivers.New 2nd string
running back.New fullback. Im sorry but this is a IMMENSE amount of change!!!

The defense has a bit more consistency and upgrades with Cody.Essentially, its close to the same.

This is why our offense is inconsistent!!! Expect us to be better by late this season. I just hope its not too late
at that point and we miss the playoffs.

Faith has not been shaken, but this loss brings things into perspective. After a great performance against pburgh to begin the season, I think many thought we were a well oiled offensive unit that would roll through the season with no worries.

We were all hoping that the O would magically gel and be an efficient, consistent unit. Obviously, this has not been the case and consistent success has been undermined by a lot of road blocks; many new players, injuries and inconsistent play on the O line, Evans turning out to be "damaged goods", often horrible game plans, etc., etc., etc.. I know, great teams should be able to adjust to and overcome adversity. But this offense was basically starting from scratch and should not have been expected to reach their potential early in the season.

I'm not losing my faith in these guys to get it done. I think as we move through the season the O will become more consistent and good things will come. This hinges on our O line. We need to get back to basics. Run the ball successfully, work play action off of that success and then open things up with the long ball. We need to gain that sense of unpredictability to be consistently good.

Will we become the offensive juggernaut that we all long for this season? Probably not. The hope is that we can become consistently good enough to put up some points and win games with a balanced combination of good offense and great defense. As the truthful saying goes "Defense wins Championships".
