Conditioning And Pre-Season

3 posts in this topic

I keep falling back to the short pre-season and the lack of conditioning of our offensive line for the falters thus far. I know they will be a very good front line but they just are not in top shape right now. I know it starts and stops right there for any team.

Or am i way off as usual. :-)

imo we can't keep using that as an excuse. we are 7 weeks into the season and these cats practice every week.

Yeah, you are.

Trust me, NFL players this far in the season are more than likely well conditioned. In fact, the majority of players were conditioned to play day 1 of two-a-days. Its not often a player pulls a Terrell Suggs and shows up that badly out of shape. Most players show up entirely in shape day 1. Of course, there's still an adjustment for all players to get back into "football shape" but these guys are in shape and well conditioned.

The problem is mentality. You gotta come out fast, and come out physical. Especially on the oline. You gotta come out and punch em in the mouth. We haven't come out like that very often.

The exception to this is McKinnie, He is still getting in shape. He's still slow.
