Merged: Grubbs Practices, Evans Doesn't This Week

198 posts in this topic

Everything that TO can bring, Anquan does better. We need a speedy guy to stretch the field. We get TO, we get Derrick Mason back,

And besides, i dont want Cam Cameron to get two veteran possesion recievers, and have a flash back to last season and starts sending Torrey Smith on reverse run plays for the rest of the year.... not feeling it.

Yeah, we need to get T.O. especially how he disrespected us when we tried to get him 8 years ago. Furthermore, pick him up, he will fight with Ray Ray in the locker room, degrade the organization when we don't win, and fight with Flacco on the sidelines during a game. Get T.O.? Yeah, get him out of the league!
He's already done that himself; I guess he didn't think about all those bridges he burned coming back to bite him in the caboose!

Just got the Text, once again Ben Grubbs and Lee Evans are OUT and will miss another game.

I hate it for Grubbs, he is young and talented and is one of the best Guards but injuries are slowing him down. Sounds like Grubbs is going through what happened to Gaither and his career may be hurt by injuries. I mean look at Gaither, he still isn't the same Gaither before the injury.

Didn't want to start a new thread.

Any idea when Evans and Ben will be back? I am REALLY starting to get frustrated with it. I know they need to heal but what in the heck is taking so long?

I'm hoping they've kept it close to the vest that they are going to be ready on Sunday. I guess we'll see later this week when practices happen, though if they are trying to keep it quiet they may not even practice during the media-viewable portion of practice.

I still think Evans is out for the season, or at least most of it. If he does come back, it wont be at 100%.

Grubbs must have the worst kind of turf toe if he's missed 2 months. It's anyones guess when he'll be back. If he has really bad turf toe, he might end up needing surgery. Hopefully that isn't the case and he gets better soon.

I seriously doubt that either guy comes back this week. I'm wondering if they'll ever come back. Everything is so hush hush. Very disappointing.

It's evident how bad our Oline can be without Grubbs, in all aspects of the game, we need him back more than anyone.

Even if Grubbs is cleared to play on Sunday, will he have enough chemistry and in any shape to help on the O-Line.?
Right now our oline has the chemistry of an ammonium and bleach combination. Grubbs coming back could only make the line better.

Harrison and other steelers will be returning from injury and/ or playing with various injuries.....

If Lee Evans and Ben Grubbs don't at least practice this week, in an attempt to play in vital divisional matchup against our biggest rival, I'm gonna be disgusted with them and their " nagging injuries ". Since week 1....

Adam Schefter just reported on half time of Monday night game that Harrison and Woodley would most likely be playing Sunday night regardless of injury. Then he added in " why wouldn't they play with the Ravens coming to town everyone including Hines ward who didn't play yesterday would be ready to go".

God I hate football now, 20 hell even 10 years ago they would be playing, now not so much.

It's easy to say that, but Grubbs has turf toe. Turf toe has been an injury that has taken the last life of some talented players such as LT, Jonathan Ogden, Jahvid Best, and Kyle Boller.....??? But in all seriousness, thats an injury that doesn't play games. Toes seem small, but I don't think its a matter of lack of heart.

Same with Evans. These are two talented ball players, whose durability and heart should not be questioned for the years they have put up. I mean Evans has to have some heart playing for Buffalo for all of those years. And Grubbs had like a 60 game playing streak going. It isn't fair to get mad at someone for getting hurt. Unless its Albert Haynesworth then they wouldn't be hurt if they had an option

Did he say anything about this?

It's getting weird if Harrison himself says one thing and Adam says another. We'll just have to see.

lol at this point its almost sad. Wasn't Grubbs doing FP like 2 weeks ago until someone steps on his toe? Lee just needs to play through the pain cuz we kinda need him at this point
well Evans will be back for the playoffs

I can understand Grubbs taking more time off since he is a long term asset. But if Evans doesn't play this game and we lose whats the use of even having him if it means another year on the road we lost on the trade. He is getting paid enough to line up and run some routes... he just needs to remember this is football and sometimes you have to be a man

Oh snap, I'll be glad if Harrison plays. Have Leach put a hat on him every play and he won't be playing long.
Right now I would gladly swap Harrison for Woodley. Harrison is getting older and Woodley is the better player right now IMO. It would be great if they were both out though.

We'll need him back at least 3 weeks before the playoffs.

Evans coming in the playoffs could actually disrupt our offense. Too little chemistry between him and Flacco.

We need Grubbs back in the worst way.... we can survive without Evans. Our O-line needs to be stout like it was in Week 1 WITH Grubbs.

Even if Harrison and Woodley play, they won't be up to speed similar to the first meeting between these 2 teams. We all know how that turned out. Evans needs to man up and get out there. He proved to be an effective decoy to keep the Steelers from stacking the box. Smith is becoming the new deep threat. It took a lot of heart to pull in the pass last Sunday with the game on the line. I'm sure that the Steelers will study the Titans and Jaguars game film to find a way to stop us. We need to rock Slothesburger and see what happens. I hope you read these posts Suggs.

Just like someone mentioned already, I wonder if Evans coming back would disrupt any 'sort of' chemistry already there. I don't like saying that because we NEED another Veteran WR out there. This team is good but the jekyll/hyde thing worries me. And this game worries me.

I think it must have been one heck of an ankle sprain or it's MORE than that. Hope Ben is better soon.
