ESPN Joe Flacco Article

44 posts in this topic

This article sums it up, they played a crap game and I was shocked, I thought if they lost it wouldnt be because of their own doing.....thats the upsetting part
Flacco knows the criticism is coming this week.

"Oh, yeah," Flacco said. "What are you going to do? It's not like I pay attention and watch all that stuff, but that's the name of the game in the NFL. It's the name of the game in football. Like John [Harbaugh] said, they look at the quarterback when things are good and things are bad. That's what happens."

The players continue to support Flacco.

“That’s people on the outside,” center Matt Birk said of the criticism. “Everyone here on offense knows it’s everybody. We all stunk.”
Losing happens and sometimes it's unexpected, like when the Patriots lost to the Brown a few years ago

I don't think the outrage this week is about us playing bad, it's more about the fact the offense did nothing. We didn't have a first down the entire half, we couldn't move the ball, and it was pathetic. If we got beat I'd be alright, but doing something like that on MNF is not going to sit right with the fans.

Last year when we lost to Cincinnati and Flacco threw 4 picks, it hurt but at the end of the day i could live with it. But for our offense to look like a pop-warner team hurt. I'm still speechless, i work with a lot of Steeler fans in my office, and of course they loved every minute of it... smh

Sure losing happens. If it wasnt for our defense playing lights out and we had just an average defense we would have gotten a whooping like the saints slapped down.

What makes it worse is when the defense can hand you so many turnovers and you still do nothing. Somebody has to wake up with a horse head in their bed for this one.

Birk is right, they all stunk. I don't put all of this mess on Flacco or Cam, everyone should take equal blame. From Harbs all the way to every offensive player.

Flacco's eyes were down the field on every passing play, but he didn't see anything he liked. Watching on television makes it hard to see what the recievers are doing, but it seems like they had a hard time getting separation. The O-line looked and smelt like swiss cheese.

What concerns me more than anything is that this isn't the first or the second time that the offense has failed to show up. This is the third time now that the offense has laid an egg and the second time it's caused us to lose a "should win" game. We're nearly halfway through the season and in half of our games the offense has been terrible.

If Grubbs and Evans come back and still the offense continues to stink then Cam HAS to go.

I just watched Smith and Bayless rant on Flacco as the Ravens weakest link on first take. I have to say that I agree with them, Flacco just isn't a elite QB, he just average sometimes below average. He will never lead this team to a superbowl. You can thumbs me down if you like, I have supported him for 4 years, but I can't handle Joe Flacco sending my stomach on a emotional roller coaster ride anymore. When the game is put on his back I am waiting for something bad to happen, and it always happens and its mainly him to blame... I am just sick of it really. I am to the point to were I would rather turn the channel, then sit and watch Joe try to win us the game, because I know he is going to screw up.

After the Suggs interview this was a performance that Bayless was hoping for out of Joe.

Either help Flacco out in a big way on offense, or let Tyrod start. Its obvious with the current weapons and system, that this is going to be a long year. To me the kid just does not look like a winner. Big ups to T-sizzle on supporting your quarterback, but honestly Joe has one more horrible showing then im going ham nonstop and tell he's benched.

EXACTLY. We're not "flipping out" because the Ravens lost the game. We've lost before, and we'll probably lose again.

The problem is HOW they lost. We can't blame the officials, which is new to many of us. The offense was horrible, and Flacco is the guy with the ball in his hands every single offensive play. This week against the Cardinals is a great opportunity to make people feel better. But a win isn't going to mean much if the offense struggles against a horrible defense. And the week after that... hello Steelers! The season looks like it comes down to that game.

We were looking at home playoff games. A loss to Pittsburgh and we'll have to start crossing our fingers for the team to hold on to a wildcard spot.

i believe he's saying that he's going ham non stop until Flacco is benched. Ham is slang for doing something extreme so to speak. Like when Flacco threw for 389yds and 3 TDs against the rams, you couldve said Flacco went ham on them boiz

What really makes it sickening is despite all the poor and offensive offensive play, terrible officiating and disgusting play calling, we still had an opportunity to win the game and it still got screwed up. Our defense played their heart out. I don't care who you are tell me that is fair to our defense? It's ridiculous.

he didn't have to hope for it...he knew it! skip's been saying this about Flacco all along. Flacco's and the offenses lack of production on a big stage did nothing but further cement his view point about Flacco being unable to lead the Ravens to the Superbowl and win!

Skip Bayless wants people to fail. It justifies his paycheck.

That said, I don't care if Skip Bayless or any detractors' views are validated. I just want results. We can speculate all we want and throw out conjecture about "Flacco doesn't look like a winner" or "Flacco has a lot of potential" or whatever, but bottom line, I don't care how we win. I just want to win.

The Ravens have won more games than they've lost this season. I don't care how ugly the wins or losses because no one remembers that. They only remember what you did at the end of the season, and quite frankly, Flacco could throw 12 INTs in the Super Bowl for all I care as long as the team wins.

Lets face it Frankly; in order to win, we need to fix a whole lots on the offense. If we don't come up with the system that allows us to adjust in game, we won't see alot of win down the road. Additionally, If Joe is still game managed by Cam, it's going to be a very long season.

BTW, I don't watch ESPN except hightlights..........

Coming into the season, I predicted that we would have 5-6 losses this year. We are right on track to do so. Hopefully, we beat the hated Squeelers again to take the edge off the losses. I would love to beat the Colts by a blowout score similar to what the Saints did last weekend.

Last year in Cinci, Flacco had one of the worst games of his career. He bounces back and lit it up the rest of the season. I'm hoping that this game was this year's Cinci (not really counting Tennesse because in that game the offensive line didn't bother showing up to play at all, or at least that's what I'm telling myself for now).

i feel bad for the defense...its hard to hold a team down when the stadium is loud as the bank and everyone can smell a upset and on MNF.....the offense needs to step up not just flacco, we would have gotten blown out horriblely if not for the defense....and in my opinion and i have cried since monday to myself about this, i dont see a superbowl in our future anytime soon..... maybe im just panicking or something but i feel like rays retireing, reeds gonna be leaveing also... its like our window is closeing so fast to get a superbowl win with this defensive leadership that we have...i hope not

I'm happy to see you got on the "Joe Must Go" bus. I've been driving this bus for some time much to the annoyance of many people here. I am a loyal Raven supporter but I simply can't and wont support this bum another minute. Put Tyrod in and let the chips fall where they will-nothing could be worse than Flacco. That pass he completed to himself was three stooges funny and Flacco looked like Jerry Lewis. Enough is enough!

Lol these fans are rough, they make you not wanna support the guy. I actually like him, he just needs more work than i think a four year guy in the same system should need. Joe looks scared on the field, and goes against the best D in the league everyday in practice. Every time he is presented with a chance to win a ball game he chokes. smh.... I don't care what he does next game against the Cardinals if Joe doesnt find a way to bring us back in a game or two this season, he is nothing more than a game manager and should be payed as such.

Exactly! I was so embarrased as I watched the game at a sportsbar on South Miami Beach, I actually pulled my phone out and started to organize songs on my playlist! I was sooo sick...

I really think Flacco and Cam need to wake up with a horse head in their bed! How long will the D put up with these idiots? Its only a matter of time, they may not do it intentionally but Flacco has a way of sucking the life out of you... Smh
