Thank You Ravens

18 posts in this topic

I know people are upset right now, but I'm looking in the opposite direction, and I'm not even forcing myself to.

Our defense is unbelievably good. Our rookie quarterback is getting better and better... 2nd ranked D in the league and he did pretty darn well. I'm sorry to those out there that want to freak out and say the sky is falling, but I'm as happy as someone can be after watching his favorite team lose a MNF game.

The character on this team and staff is something to praise - I believe in them even if they lose the rest of the season's games.

Join me in saying, "Thanks" to the Ravens for a great effort. The deserve it and our respect. People who want to rant and rave negatively, feel free to omit your response.

Yeah, surprisingly, I'm satisfied with flacco's first away, monday night football game vs a number 2 ranked defense.

--behind the number 1 ranked defense he plays on. ;p

I want to go out on a limb and say a few things about the Ravens 2008...

1) We are possibly the best coached we ever have been...

2) We are the deepest team in terms of overall talent that perhaps we ever have been...

3) And I think we will do great things this year...we may have some growing pains...but I think this team has a legitimate shot at the playoffs, and a shot at the Super Bowl if it stays healthy, focused, and plays with intensity every down of every game...

Look at what the NY Giants did last year...we need to look to them for inspiration...they knocked off the only 19-0 team in the history of the NFL...

I did not expect to win any games until Nov--so I'm still tickled. Mendenhall and the O-lineman ended up on IR. Stinks for them.

I'm not upset one bit. Except at the people who got the stupid flags! We looked damn good on national TV. We have planted the seed. Before the game, 4 of 8 ESPN guys picked us to win. Then we came out and pretty much dominanted. People are starting to realize what our time can do. Flacco showed to the nation that he will be the real deal.

The Steelers EKED by with a win.

1) Flacco dealt with the adversity, and came back after he made a mistake. No INTS
2) Our D looked great - ofcourse we could have been better
3) We made several drives. Including some big third downs.
4) My favorite - We put together a TD drive in the fourth quarter to force overtime.

I am looking forward to when the Steelers come to B-More!

Yeah the Rookie played pretty good! Flacco is the one like Neo in the Matrix. But DAMN! We had that game in the bag, shopping cart, we were at the check out counter and we spilled the groceries all over the floor. I still can not believe we lost.

GREAT thread!

Thank you Ravens for an exciting game. Sure there were mistakes here or there but every team can say the same thing. We learn from them and correct them and move on.

I tell you what....this was one of the most exciting, nail-biting games I've seen in a while and like everyone is mentioning above my post you all put it on the line and played your hearts out. Wow, what an effort!

THANKS :D

now rest up for the next one ;)

I agree!!!! At least at wasent an embarrasing loss like last year on MNF!!!.. WE went into THEIR house and almost beat them.. I know this doesnt amount to much on the books.. but it means alot to me.. I seen a great QB in joe flacco.. my only complaint is that we should use todd heap more!!!!.. He was a blocker almost the entire game!!! If we didnt have the defense that we do the steelers would easily have had another TD on the board...

This showed me that our ravens can play right up there with the rest of the league.. we all know the steelers were playing thier absoulute BEST last night..after a hard hitting loss to the eagles the week before..

lol That's a great way of describing it. Just goes to show you that one penalty can shift the momentum so quickly and 15 seconds later a 10 point lead becomes a 4 point deficit.

I second the Get heap out there more. He's dopped a few but his hands are still incredible. And is it me or does it seem we always lose night games? No matter what we looked good. I think the problems can be addressed. I just wish we could have finished them off.

That was great.

There is a LOT to be proud of from last night. And truthfully very little to be ashamed of. Any loss sucks. Peroid. A steeler loss is salt in the wound.
We all will get over it. We have lost to them before and lived to tell about it.

But we have beaten them too.
And OH the joy. B)

i agree.. it hurts, but what lost it for us in my opinion were the flags, the caliber of our play is at the top of the NFL ..... this will only make us stronger

I agree with the OP, but no it's not easy to take that loss, but there is a lot of good that came of the game, tons of good. Heap had to block all night, but they gotta get him the ball, otherwise the D has one less guy to guard and rush the QB. Harbaugh should have pushed the ball at the end of reg, couldn't figure out while they played for OT in Pitts, and I'm not second guessing I wanted that LIVE. I know how hard it is to beat the Steelers. Great game for the organization. Hurry up and let's get to the Titans game so I can forget this loss.

The other great thing about that game is we physically killed the Steelers, thier players were dropping like flies.

Not only was that hard to watch for me, because the Steelers are IMO our biggesst rival, but that MNF crew is horrid, only Jaws is tolerable. Tirico laughs at every joke it bugs me a lot, and Tony never shuts up.

ok it was a win for us as a moral victory we Ran it down thier throats and palamalu was arround most of mason receptions which means flacco's showing guts palomalu knows this next time he will have to improve his level because he only defended 2or 3 passes , well and they also learned 1 man vs our man McClain does not work, so we hurt thier pride and there are 3 injuries on that game a line man a line backer and 2 HBs note that means we made them shop for another RB or 2.

sad to see . I hope the lb that was injured frazier can some day atleast walk again reports from pitt uni medical center said its a spinal injury,

as for mendenhall he brought it on himself the last play he met Ray lewis , something no RB looks forward too.

as for the bannan problem of the foul , he got caught watch the tape , ward hit him first in the head thats according to the rules a PF and possible DQ. the league needs to keep an eye on him

yes they played dirty all the hits we made that put people out were clean and legal they got frustrated
