The Next 2 Weeks (Offense Discussion)

Cardinals Defense: Points Allowed (28th), Yards (26th), Pass Yards (28th), Rush Yards (14th)

Offense needs to show up for this game, period. Sub-optimal offenses pick apart this Arizona defense.. there is literally no acceptable excuses for not putting up 21 offensives points against this team. If we can't score more than 13 points like the Seahawks did against this defense.. I'll puke. I think our offense knows they have to win this game. If not, what possible excuse can you give? "Hey man, they're a good defense. We just couldn't get anything going.. still gelling.." God, can you imagine hearing THAT again?

Steelers Defense: Points Allowed (3rd), Yards (3rd), Pass Yards (1st), Rush Yards (12th)

No way do we see a repeat of week 1. Playing in Pitt against a Steelers team that I'm sure wants revenge for that week 1 beating. Last few weeks I've been riding high with all this talk about Playoffs, Superbowl, etc.. Well I expect this games' atmosphere to be very similar to such. I think we're going to learn a lot about this offense.. well this TEAM in general this game. I think our Defense will keep us in it, that much I feel is safe to say. I've got a feeling it's going to fall on the offense at the end of the game to make a game winning drive happen. Regardless of what happens against the Cardinals, this game is going to have MAJOR season/playoff implications for us. Not expecting an amazing offensive performance, but we need a solid one.. and probably a clutch performance from Joe.

I'm not even going to make score predictions for obvious reasons. What do you guys think? Can we turn it around? Can we get some good, consistent offensive play these next two weeks? Like I said, doesn't have to be amazing..

We haven't been able to get "consistent" offensive output for this entire season. If we can get it for the next two weeks, that'd be good. If we can get it for the rest of the season, that'd be even better.

After Jacksonville, EVERYONE has to know they're playing for their jobs. I thought they'd know that after Tennessee, but I guess only the defense got the message there. Hopefully it sinks in this time. Hopefully.

I see another 17-14 game in Pittsburgh. As far as Arizona..after last night i will make no bold predictions for a blowout.

I'm pretty confident in this team. They have to understand how important that Steelers game will be. If we lose to them and they get a game ahead...they wont be letting go of 1st place I guarantee it. If we beat them AGAIN then we will be in really good shape and it will be extremely deflating for them to get swept by their most bitter rivals. They'll still make the playoffs though so round 3 seems inevitable.

They always know how important the Steelers game is and (except for the opening game this season) they fail to deliver. Honestly, I expect more of the same.

I think we may be able to get something going against the Cards defense at home. The stillers at Heinz Field is a different animal. Before the week 1 game Tomlin admitted there were twenty new faces that he hadn't scouted. Well they'll be well scouted by week nine and the offense that showed up Monday night must have Lebeau licking his chops. The larger issue is that there are still four division games left on the schedule after that; two against a very good Cincy defense also sporting a 4-2 record. In the short term I think we'll split the two games but after that, if we don't find some consistency on offense we may be fighting for a wildcard spot.

This offense is so up and down I really have doubts about the steelers game. I really thought we would sweep them this year but after last night I really can't see us winning that game. It's another prime-time game and we don't know what offense is going to show up that night. I think we can win but I'm not expecting us to win so if we do lose I'm not even gonna be mad. The only downside would be is that we most likely will be a wild card team yet again this year fighting our way through the playoffs and as of right now we r not a good road team. The good thing is that the steelers have to play New England Sunday and we all kno the steelers never match up good against them so I will be praying and routing for the pats Sunday. I kno one thing as much as we been talking about the superbowl this year we will see what our team is really made of when we play the steelers and if we sweep them we will be talked about as one of the best teams in the AFC again.

as if the first few weeks haven't done it already....the next 2 weeks will say alot about our Ravens and where they may "truly" stand in this league imo. we need a win over the Cardinals and now...we are "hoping" for a Steelers loss. when all we had to do was take care of our business with a win last night.

As bad as last night was, I see us demolishing the Cardinals at home this Sunday. Harbs is gonna give the Ravens one heck of a week of practice, and I just can't see the Ravens laying an egg two weeks in a row. But then again, as last night proved, anything could happen...

I swear, the Ravens' offense reminds me of Star Trek. Wait wait .. just stick with me a second.

Every other week on Star Trek, they'd come across some problem and the situation gets dire and just before it all goes to hell, someone comes up with something. Increasing PHASER output by 1000%, multi-phasic shields to block anything or warp engine mods that take them into hyperwarp. Then the next week, they run into a problem and they don't know what to do and you think, "Wait ... what happened to that 1000% increase in PHASER firepower .. do that thing ... that'll make this fight pretty quick" and they never do it.

That's like watching Cam Cameron's play calling each week. I swear it's almost like he doesn't realize the season has started and these games actually count, so maybe he should stop sending in low percentage experimental plays just to see what happens.

We have to win both games, period. That's what has to happen. We have to blow out the Cardinals, and Joe has to have a good game. Against the Steelers, I'd just settle for a win, good, bad, or ugly. I'll say it again, the only guy who consistently thrashes the Steelers is Tom Brady. The only offense that seems to consistently put up points on the Steelers is the Patriots Offense. I'll settle for a win in that game. But against the Cardinals, I need to see something from both Joe individually and the offense as a whole. The Cardinals are one of the worst teams against the pass. If our passing offense can't get it done against them, changes need to be made (starting with Mr. "audibles are overrated").

As bad as last Monday was, if we take care of business against the Cardinals and the Steelers lose to the Patriots we are right back in first with a chance to take a 3 game lead in the division (including head to head tiebreaker) if we beat the Steelers the following week.
