Would You Trade Flacco And Rice... For Andrew Luck

76 posts in this topic

Flacco and Rice are both going to be due for new contracts after this season.

However, they are rated high enough that I believe a team would be willing to trade the number 1 overall pick for them.

You know what you have in Flacco. You don't know what Andrew Luck will end up being.

Ray Rice puts up numbers, but honestly... you can ALWAYS find a running back. Look at DeMarco Murray in his first real NFL action going for 250+ yards. Arian Foster came from nowhere. Jamal Charles. The list goes on. Carolina is probably going to have to get rid of DeAngelo Williams, and might take a mid-round draft pick. Running back is an easy position to replenish. Not to mention, Ray Rice is NOT a good pass blocker. People complain about pass protection, well... Ray Rice is a huge part of why there is often a "free" rusher.

If the Ravens could do this, they get Luck... and possibly keep their own 1st round pick.

So, would you trade Flacco and Rice to get the number one overall pick (to draft Andrew Luck, obviously).

no.. a more realistic option would be if the colts are looking to ship manning..

2nd round pick, maybe 2nd and third.. only prob contract

But i wouldnt do either tbh

If Manning was healthy enough to play, why would Indianapolis trade him? If he wasn't healthy enough for Indy, why would Ravens trade for him?

I'm sorry. I didn't realize asking other fans if they'd prefer to continue on the current path, or if they'd like to risk getting the number one overall pick and using it on a quarterback than seems to be very highly regarded by people all over the country.... was trolling.

Please, allow me to go make another "these are my excuses for Flacco" thread.

are you serious? yea you can find any RB anywhere, doesnt mean they will be good. Murray had one good game and your ready to put him in the same league as Rice, jeez, prisoner of the moments here. i understand what your saying, but we had a bad game where flacco wasnt getting much protection and for some reason rice only got the ball 8 times....and you want to ship them out for a college QB? Ever hear of Ryan Leaf? that worked out well

Rice is also the reason we have almost any offense, hes responsible for about 40% of our yards

LOL @ this......no...just....no. You can always find a RB but the dual threat RBs are much harder to find and Rice is one of, if not, the best.

I will admit i do not follow college football, but I would not trade for either way, doesnt make sense. Why would you take another rookie and start all over again. Id rather put T.Taylor in there instead.

I just would not risk it, look how many QBs were talked about when heading into the Draft and look how they turned out. The first person that comes to mind is Matt Leinart , he was supposed to be the second coming. Its all i heard about.

Trolling is an action, not a post count. In my opinion, this post is borderline trolling, either that, or this dude is licking windows in his spare time. Rice and Flacco for an unproven rookie? [profanity deleted]!!

How many "sure thing" prospects have fizzled in the NFL? It's all way too risky. Luck might be the next Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf. Too risky, and this is a bum trade anyway.

There is no way we should ever get rid of Ray Rice. He needs to be a Raven forever. And for Flacco, there is no reason we get rid of him either.

Who would want Flacco-I'm sure after last nights performance there would be little interest around the league for him. Rice is a different matter-he had an off night but I think the offense as a whole has no inspiration from Flacco-did you see how many times Boldin threw the ball in the air? I noticed several team mates shaking their heads. Flacco is causing our morale to falter-get him out of there before it all falls apart!

No way. Luck could end up being a bust, who knows? These CFB analysts don't always get everything right and I need not point any further than JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, etc. We have talent at QB and RB, sure you can find the diamond in the rough sometimes, but most of the time it doesn't work that way. RR is an elite RB. And in terms of QB, we will definitely see the ups and downs with Flacco, we just have to stay with him through this season and see what happens. It will only get worse if he realizes he doesn't have the support of Ravens fans

Flacco isnt a bad QB by any means, but lets be real here theres a reason Luck would have gone #1 last year and will go #1 this year. His vision is better than Flacco's right now and thats with Flacco playing the better part of 4 years in the NFL. Luck can also make all the throws and has better pocket presence and awareness than Flacco. Luck is going to be a better QB than Flacco is barring a horrific injury or if he goes to a team with swiss cheese for an Oline.
