I officially think that I was completely wrong about Torrey. This kid is legit.

Did you see him hang on to the ball on that sideline catch while nearly getting decapitated??

Yeah that catch was nasty. Dude has some real potential and he made a great catch extending with his hands to get it.

he played well, but one criticism i have off him last night, well not really a criticism, but he was being man marked by pual pol.. however you spell it, the LB, he should have just broke off his route and turned up field, a more experienced player MAY have done that, im not sure, thats why i dont know if i can criticise him

I know this is about Torrey, but I am going to mention some other bright sides.

1) Torrey Smith is talented as anything I've seen. I like this kid. He's going to be a star for us. I really like the way he's been catching the ball, running routes, etc. Very good.

2) Maybe this will wake up the Ravens and they will see this and really learn from our mistakes. I don't expect this to happen again. We've been playing light on offense the past couple games, and this loss may just shake them up. I think Harbaugh is going to rip into them. I also believe this is the worst game we will play this year.

3) As bad as we played, we are now ranked as the #1 overall defense!

I agree with the Paul Pol coverage. He should of broken out of his route but he's still young and he is the least of our concerns on offense.

I would also say Pollard and McPhee also are bright spots that seemed to playing themselves into solid roles on the defense

I'd like to see him bigger, like 215lb jacked. He'd have some nasty potential if he could add a physical edge.

I gotta say Torrey is pretty nice. I wish I could see more of Tandon Doss and what he's made of. its about time we have drafted some quality wideouts

it´s nice to hear that from you fly!! you were very hard with him.

i also believe he will be the best receiver out of this draft in 3 years. we just have to use him the right way. but not another fire cam debate here.

just enjoy our young guys on the team stepping up...

Hey, when you're wrong, you're wrong...this kid isn't asking for respect, he is going out and taking it with his play.

And if he stays on the track that he is on, it wont be long at all before he becomes one of the better WR in the league. Let's just hope that he stays on course!

Absolutley, that was about the best mismatch you could ask for, and Torrey did nothing to exploit it. I was pretty shocked about that one, but he'll get it in time. He really has impressed me more and more.

I woulldn't say that. We could have been shut out completely so it could have gotten a little worse. However, we still have the Bengals to play and they are a better statistical defense and run similar 4-3 cover 2 type schemes that plague the Ravens. The NEED to fix this NOW or they will be looking at, at least 3 more losses.

What should have been happening is moving Boldin away from Mathis and getting Torrey matched up on his press man coverage. You know like the time Torrey had him beat for a touchdown until he lost his shoe and Joe overthrew him. But why mess with a good thing Cam?

Ordered my #82 yesterday. So glad I did. I have high hopes for Torrey...now I just wish the Jersey came sooner.

He wasn't body catching but instead used his hands to grab the ball. Major improvement in my eyes. Has a ways to go though. I give Torrey a 3 year window because WRs can explode out of nowhere.

Good catch then. Not to mention he saved Flacco on the would be pick he tried to throw deep. He is getting better and showing mire promise than I thought. People should understand where skepticism come from judging receivers considering our luck drafting them.
