Pollard Proved Why...

He should have the starting job over Zibby tonight. I'm pretty sure he caused each and every MJD fumble and that hit ( BS call by the refs ) was money.

Start this guy for the rest of the season please.

he is a tough, hard hitting guy like we need. 6 years in the league and real experience. he will carry the torch for the future of this team...he can be a real leader.

I agree, but, Pollard has been dominate at the position since hes been here. I am pretty sure Reed though has been lobbying for Zibby though which is my assumption why he did not start.

But, now... hes out played even Landry when he was here. There is no way not to start him.

If there is one bright light to take away from this game he is it.

Indeed, maybe guys see why I wanted him sooner! He has a knack for causing problems for offenses with his physical play. Most of the game, he was the most physical guy on the field. This includes, Ray , Suggs, Haloti...... all of them,!

The Helmet-Helmet call was a JOKE. Picture perfect, seperating the receiver from the ball.

You beat me to this post. I was going to post something very similar. There's no way, he should lose his spot when Zibi is cleared to play. He definitely took the "Next man up" mantra to another level!!

from day one of hearing that Pollard was coming to the Ravens i've been saying in here that he should start over Zibby. he is the Ravens defense personified! he has the mentality, he's tough and a fierce hitter. and he proved that last night! Ed Reed and Bernard Pollard are a safety duo that no team wants to face!

But when I say this, it's just "crazy talk" from someone who doesn't know football and is just a "hater."

Can't wait until people finally start realizing I speak the truth about Flacco, Chris Carr, and Ray Rice!

I told you in August what a great player he is!!!! Pollard is why I love football. It's great to see a player not whine about a bad call!

Forgive me for not knowing the history here, but are you saying Rice is over-rated?

We can talk about that in another thread.

But the bottom line is, I told people Pollard could cover better than Zbikowski. And he definitely tackles better than him. He's faster. And he's just an intimidating force and helps the rest of the defense pick-up their play.

People thought all he could do is hit hard, and insisted he was a liability in coverage. I sure haven't seen him getting beat, and definitely not often anyway. I still think people confuse Zbikowski with Jim Leonard and think they are the same person on the field.

As a Steeler fan, I can easily say that the personal foul called on that play was as bad as any call I've seen since Goodells BS started!

I'm with you 100% I've been saying since pre-season that Pollard should get the start. I even created a poll about it.

I was just interested in your Rice remark. BTW, as far as Carr is concerned, I would have preferred we had let him go and kept Josh Wilson. JMHO.

I definitely agree Pollard should start over Zibby. How often to you even hear Zibby's name during a game for making plays? He is just kind of there. Pollard had a clutch shut down against the Texans and he should have had a clutch shut down last night but was wrongly penalized for it...

I'm with ya. I was stoked when I heard we got Pollard and couldn't believe Zibby got the starting nod over this guy. Zbikowski is a solid back-up at safety and probably could start on some teams.. but with how Pollard is playing, no way do you take this guy out of the starting spot.

He can definitely hit! Plus he showed that he can cover when he knocked that ball out of Marcedes Lewis' hands in the end zone.

If he isn't the starter for the rest of the season and the rest of his contract I'll be shocked.

Harbaugh said he's going to send tape of the "helmet to helmet" foul to the league office.

Lmao, he is better than zibby but why people acting like he has been perfect in coverage.
He is getting credit for players dropping passes lol

I also think Pollard was a good addition, and he's definitely better than Zibby and more athletic than Dawan for that matter. I'm not ready to say that Pollard is better than Landry was overall, but Pollard is more physical and can cause more turnovers. Landry allow fewer big plays, which is the whole point of having safeties in the first place. He is playing Free Safety for the Jags this year, for those who say he can't cover. But in the end, It all depends on what you value in your safety.

He hasn't been perfect in coverage, but he's making plays. Zibby was generally seen dragging down receivers after they've caught the ball and headed up field. Zibby has one stat.. tackles.

Well, whatever they doing I'm sure those would have been caught passes if Zibi were out there. The one by Lewis was a drop but the other ones have been by fear of getting drilled by Pollard.
