MERGED: 8 Carries and the Suggs Reaction

80 posts in this topic

Our offense is most effective when we establish the running game, but we didn't even try to establish the running game. Anyone else get ticked off when we're in shotgun runnin that spread stuff with TEN minutes left in the 2nd quarter? We were down by 3. And Cam just abandoned the run entirely.

He stated that MJD got 30 carries last night and our best offensive option only got 8. This has to be fixed now. When the players start questioning the play calling to the media, then we KNOW there's a lack of confidence in Cam's abilities.

I understand the temptation to move away from the run when you're completing everything, but we had 1 passing yard in the first half. I wouldn't have minded if we ran the ball every play in the 3rd quarter. The execution wasn't there, but the play calling was absolutely abhorrent. Cam needs to go, midseason or not.

worst football game I have ever seen. Just complete fail by the offense. Our D was solid but the O-line was garbage. Not sure what the hell we just weatched but I am pretty sure it was garbage

when they have 8 or 9 in the box on every play its hard for a team to run
Did not stop the Jags and it should not have stopped us. You use your best play maker and Ray Rice is it. Besides how many times has Ray broke free and got big gains when a team had 8, 9 and even 10 guys in the box? The running game opens up the passing game and paly action so run it down thier throats!!

I agree with Suggs but he also has to take into account on the amount of pressure inwhich the oline crumbled under. Rice looked just as lost out there as the rest of the offense. Did you not see him get tackled by a 360 lb D-lineman, in the flat WITH SPACE? Not to mention, Ray Rice missed MORE then a handful of blocks!

Perhaps Siz should have said something about the Oline letting Ray and Joe get creamed all night too.....

Yanda and Grubbs are hurt throwing the line into a little disarray. Cam CANNOT ADJUST> Using ALL your tools is a way to success.

When the Line is missing its strength and the other teams game plan is to take Ray and the TE's out of game you adjust. You can come back to them later when you have the movement of the ball going with success. In the last quater, last drive, we went to No-Huddle 2 minute drill. The game plan adjusment needed to be in pace in 2nd quarter. No Huddle and quicken the pace to help keep defense on its heels. We make no adjustment because Cam cannot think on his feet. Has anyone watched Brady make thes adjustment. It is not the QB it is the Monster at the Wheel- Cam. He is still pulling the strings. He is a Board Room Thinker. He cannot think in stressful situations.

i agree with you that we should have run more but one point that i made yesterday to one of my friends is that the d isnt scared of play action on 3rd and 11

Seeing RR on the bench by himself had to be one of the worst Ravens sideline shots Ive ever seen. Inexcusable.

We have so many offensive weapons...and yet we do not use them effectively. Give Suggs the ball instead and have him run it if you are not going to use Rice.

Its me right here Mili, I'm not that " I Am Legend " on this forum, lol. Anyways, did anyone see one slant route ran the whole game? Suggs and the entire D should be pissed and has the right to do so, this offensive performance has to be one of the worst ever for any team ( forget just the franchise ). Like I have said before, Cam needs to drop the constant 5-7 step drops for some 3 step drop plays. Ease the 5-7 step drop plays into the game but we don't have the O-line ,WR's, or QB that we thought we had for that gameplan to be consistently successful. Atleast know the teams are the times to use that game plan on , don't use it regardless of the circumstances trying to force it into being successful.

Maybe we overrate the offensive talent that we think we have on this team. Your size, your 40 time, it all means nothing when there is no chemistry or rhythm amongst everyone. On paper, we super talented but that's about it.

I want to know why the ravens can't run the hurry up offense.
Steelers practice it 24/7 I really don't think we practice it that much. Same with our red zone play calling. If we do practice it then our players are not understanding what they are doing....

According to Aaron Wilson's Twitter John Harbaugh just said that Rice needs to get more than 8 carries. Maybe John is wising up here and figuring things out about Cam.

NFL Network just aired Suggs in the locker room interiew saying....

"I don't really know what the game plan was but when i have a pro bowl running back and i see that he is not getting his touches, i'm going to feel a certain type of way about it. He wants the ball and i think that we should feed him! Ray Rice is a phenominal player and you gotta use your phenominal players. I gotta question how many catches Q had. We got guys on this team that can do some great things. We gotta use those guys....it's that simple!"

speak truth T-Sizzle!

i feel the same way bruh!

Our D did great against MJD holding him under 4 yards a carry, that's all you can ask for any D holding a RB of that caliber under 4 yds a carry and he didn't hurt us in the passing game either. Jack Del Rio was smart for not opening up on O seeing his field goal kicker was on and our O wasn't doing anything, great smashmouth approach to get the win and he didn't have to open up the gameplan that could have exposed his rookie QB that could have resulted in many more turnovers that could have resulted in points from our D are short field position that would have converted into some type of points for our O.

There should have been a ton of draws and PA fake draws and slant routes last night , yet, none of that was seen. The draws could have kept the D-line of the Jags honest where they couldn't all out focus on rushing our QB. Cam did a terrible job of ajusting to what the D of the Jags was doing to us, terrible job. Flacco deserves some of the blame but not as much as Cam does.
