[MERGED] Questionable Officiating (Wk 7 @ JAX)

65 posts in this topic

The Ravens got one of the biggest lines in Football. Please just line up and play smash mouth football. Let Joe use the play action and then throw it. The Defense kept them in the game. Offense need to do that. You got Ray Rice and Rickey Williams in the backfield and one of the best blocking fullback in the league( V. Leach)

What angers me most is watching years and years and years of offensive ineptitude waste away the careers of guys like Ray Lewis and Ed Reed.

I can only hope that things finally turn around while Suggs and Ngata are still at the top of their game.

3 and out is the most to be angry right now; not the officiating......

Tell this to those who picked us in their survivor pools. You'll get quite a response lol.

zero first downs in the first half and stupid penalties all game long is what angers me. The Pollard hit was legal..he should not be fined.

That call was the angriest I've ever been over something football-related in the past couple of years. Yes, angrier than losing in the playoffs.

I'm angrier over the call than the ugliness of the loss, to be perfectly honest. That call set the tone for the type of night that we'd see.

I agree. Not to mention it led to points, while keeping our defense on the field for extra minutes.

As much as flacco was horribly inaccurate and slow getting to the line all night, i have to blame our wide outs physicality and general play tonight, not to mention our o-line but that's another story all together. our defense was outstanding considering the amount of time they were on the field. the refs were horrendous with everything maybe a little bias but calls like the pollard call makes me sick, that's a pure solid football hit right there and cost us 3 points, not too mention the jags cb play all night. it seemed like they could grab and hold all night .but if the ravens simply were a little too physical or made contact the flag was thrown. our offense sucked but the refs did blow many huge calls, be it not an excuse. what pissed me off the most was watching Flacco waiting on mr. cameron to call all the two minute drill plays. Do you think you slow brady or rodgers down by killing the clock in your two minute drill? no you let your qb take the reins and read the defense, and take some shots which flacco can do but, not that [profanity deleted] int which was both flacco and play callings fault. overall horrible and depressing loss tonight. hopefully it will be a wake up call for every one involved in the ravens offense. sorry for the rant lol.

Btw Torrey Smith.. totally a catch, had his knee down C'mon folks. He's something special.

Ejecting BA, the foul on Pollard, and allowing the Jags to have a do-over on their last kickoff were all ridiculous officiating errors. Not to mention Mathis was interfering with every pass that came his way.

The Ravens lost this game, though, not the refs.

It's a terrible officiating job, but if we could have avoided the self-inflicted penalties (Oher's 2 holdings in a row), you wouldn't have a 3rd and 30+ to go, which could have been the difference had we scored there.

I don't care what anyone says. That officiating was flat out terribad. Sour grapes, whatever......those calls were ridiculous. Rashean Mathis was just raping our guys illegally ALL game. There isn't any other way to put it. Revis does that, but he does it with touch and you can't really complain about it. Mathis was literally draped over our guys like a freakin' lion pelt all game and he got 0 calls against him for it. It was ridiculous, especially when our side gets called for defensive holding. I know it wasn't the *reason* we lost, but as far as I'm concerned, it was unacceptable. I hope they send in tapes to the league for that crap, because that's not how you're supposed to play defense.

They had one drive that. Entirely was Penallities that. Lead to points. On 2nd down Suggs beat the RT and was tackled from behind with ( no holding call) on the very next play Pollard makes and outstanding tackle arms wrapped , shoulder down and all gets " helmet call"
Then they have. Ayenbaedjao nonsense in which he was pushed then had his facemask twisted before he reacted.... The dumb Kruger mistake ( can't be. Blamed on refs ).

What's funny is Oher didn't hold. On either play they called the wrong number lol. Both of those Penalites should have been on Matt birk and he was hOlding #74 Aaron Kampman for jags on both plays. ( because my brother a Jags fan was screaming for the call on birk ) the replays even showed birk holding.

I have never seen a player get thrown out of a game for pushing someone away off their facemask and having a 15-yard penalty on Pollard for just tackling someone. I'm not blaming the loss on these penalties, but never in my years of watching the NFL have I seen such garbage calls.

The NFL and it's rules are a joke. there's nothing to say about them other than they are ridiculous. The refs have to call this BS thanks to the NFL's offense-rigged rules or they are out of a job. Let's go back to clothes-lining a guy bein a good legal tackle!

There were some bad calls, but it really shouldn't have mattered. We [profanity deleted] the bed.
This is entirely not the point.

There is not a single person who will say the team played well. Not one.

All that being said...they still should have won the game, and would have if it had not been for absolutely atrocious officiating.

Our offense needs drastic improvement, AND the Nfls officiating needs to stop being an inconsistent convoluted mess that can swing the tide of games.

Understand your point, I'm just saying that I don't feel the refs lost us this game. We lost us this game.

I was yelling at the tv just like everyone and the pollard call was a JOKE. But we should never have been in the position to need a call to go our way against a 1 - 5 team. No first downs until the third q? That is squarely on us. And by that I mean Cam.

I think that it's obvious we had a bad game, but if the referees are never gonna give the chance then what's even the point of giving it a good go? If players are gonna be flagged for clean hits with the shoulder then why should they not head hunt? If it's the same penalty then go for the one that's more likely to get you knocked out of the game. If players are only gonna get ejected if they respond to violence but not instigate it, then why wouldn't you try and bait another player?

The worst one to me was the kickoff. There should have been a delay of game call or 12 men on the field, but the refs stopped the game to allow the Jaguars to set their personnel. Even if they had gotten that last guy off before the kick, the rest of the coverage team wasn't ready and it could have been a huge return, and that extra five yards on a penalty could also have been big for the return. This is the NFL, and these guys are highly paid professionals. If they can't get the right number of players on the field it's their fault, and it's not only stupid for the refs to cover for them it's a blatant violation of the rules. The NFL should definitely be conducting an investigation into the officiating in this game.

guys I counted over 10 offsides on Jax not called , some it looked like they lined up in the neutral zone , it also looked like landry gave them every play we were making

Alright so...Dickson (I believe) catches a ball and clearly goes out of bounds. And the clock keeps running??

We lost about 2 mins on the Ed Reed injury. The clock kept running?

It is really bothering me why that clock kept running and of course, those announcers don't talk about anything.

I'm also very very heated about the whistle that prevented a delay of game on the Jags kick-off as well. Explanation they gave: Jags didn't have enough men on the field? Or too many?

Does anyone have any clarification on these things?

The Refs made a few mistakes last night.
a few? refs were horrible last night for both sides, anytime 4 plays are overturned its a bad day for the refs, that and the other 26 wrong/missed calls

The refs were just plain awful last night and I agree on both sides of the ball. When it takes forever to decided what a 3 flag penalty is and then the ref appears to start to talk and then stop 3 times before actually getting it straight? You know you are in for a long night.

Yeah, the officiating was as bad as it gets. But we did not deserve to win this game. Not the way we played. Jax earned their W last night, we cannot take away anything from them and the great defense they played.

Don't think you can blame the refs at all for this one. The officiating is irrelevant. They gave Torrey that catch on the 10 that he was out of bounds for... it goes both ways.

The officials are not the ones to be upset at.
The officials are NOT irrelevant. They need to be held accountable for their blunders just as the team does!
