With No Bye Week Ahead

10 posts in this topic

I know we have an experienced Defense, but with experience comes age of course. With no bye week at all for us and most teams that make it deep into the play offs get hot in the last 4 or 5 weeks of the season. Do you think we will be on empty by week 14 ? Will there be any power left in our defenses tanks ? Thats been worrying me since we lost our bye week. Please share your thoughts on this.

I'd like to say that if they're doing well, adrenaline will carry them through, but it also depends on how beaten up they get physically - it takes its toll even if you are the aggressor.

But then, you know Ray will get them riled up!

Well, I think we virtually have no bye week because we had to practice that week in preparation for that game. Yeah there was no game, but atleast half the physical excersion of the week goes into practice, so it's like we had half a bye week. In week 2!

A bye week would be nice. But some of our older guys on our team are always missing games due to injury, so some can rest that way. Others find a rhythm in playing with no breaks (hopefully our OL). I'm sure coach Harbaugh will give a few extra days throughout the years (after wins) to counter the no bye week scenario.

They need to focus on winning the game tonight. If they do we are 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the division. The way the AFC is this year, there will be no dominating records. Therefore we can hope for a bye in the playoffs.

If you think about it.. Every time we have a BYE in a good season we come back and lose the game.. I think NOT having a BYE is probablly better for us, I know it takes its toll on the players.. But in the end I think it keeps them pumped up and thinking ahead when they get to the next game.. SO to me not having a bye isnt a bad thing.. I think it has its benefits

I never thought of it that way. I guess a bye has its downside as well then. I feel much better now. I was just thinking Ray is older and needs the week off at some point before we play the division teams again later in the year, but i do see everyones point that rythym can be a great thing and I have never seen Ray down in spirits. These forums are awesome. Honest answers whether they are good or bad. A lot of guys at work are concerned about rolle being out tonight but i think washington is a more then adequate replacement. So no worries. The wife and kids laugh while the games are on because i get so tense, ecspecially when we play pittsburgh. There are like 10 steelers fans at work an i get to hear their trash all week long so lets ga RAVENS !!

The Colts at least have 2 weeks to game plan VS their next opponent. We found out so late we only had a week (Less really...) to game plan VS the Browns. Luckily we won.

I foresee it being an issue. We play 5 of 6 games on the road in a stretch, that's pretty bad. We lost a lot over what happened, but at least our City wasn't in bad shape and that be thrown on top of the horrible things occurring in Houston. Keep in mind the Texans are in the same boat.

It's a crap shoot..... It all depends on the health of the troops. If we can stay relatively healthy throughout, it shouldn't matter a bit. In fact, I think the bye week can sometimes ruin continuity
