Tim Tebow?!

164 posts in this topic

Is he the future of the Denver Broncos? He rallied for 15 tying pt in the final 2:44 of regular time, including a 2-pt conversion he ran in himself and then drove through the field, leading to the winning FG. But prior to that, he was 4-14 for 40 yd and needed a Matt Moore turnover and an onside kick to allow said comeback. Will Tebow perform like he did in the 1st 57:56, or the last 2:44?

Still not sold. Regarless of the final 2 minutes, he did pretty bad.
Exactly how I feel. He got lucky with that onside kick: otherwise he wouldn't have gotten that Matt Moore-lost fumble assisted final drive. His passing game is horrible and he can't rely on running like Cam Newton.

Agreed. He looked rancid in the three quarters against a bad team. Said bad team then proceeded to melt.

But hell why not. "If you wanna crown him, crown him!"

Miami is terrible, Tebow has played better than that in games before. But since he came back from 15-0, people make a bigger deal out of it.

Miami helped him out a bit.....won him the game.

What I don't get about when teams play Tebow is you know he is going to run a ton in the redzone. How do you not stop it?

Seriously Tebow needs to see a real defense like the Ravens. We would dismantle his run game, force him to throw and get some INTs. But because he came back against the DOLPHINS the media is having a field day.

He played like trash most of the game

Only the Dolphins player dropped that onside kick it was a win sealed for Miami and we'd all be having another discussion

He got lucky and made the most it
But I'm a long way from being sold

There's nothing to it. I'm not buying it at all that Miami legitimately lost. I didn't even watch a second of it and I'm not going to believe a second of this garbage.

Did you see how off his passes are? He's been with the team for more than a year now. That's scary. I don't even think I would take him as a backup. Plus if he's all about running ok then. We've got a bigger/white/ slower Mike Vick who runs smarter with the ball but can't pass at all. To be fair, Tebow doesn't throw into triple coverage....not that I know of.

actually he threw a beautful pass to their t.e. In double coverage.. Prolly one of the best pass/catches of the day..
It put them on the 4 yard line when they were still down 15-7..

Too soon to tell but he struggled a lot. In the end he got the "W" which is really the only stat that matters in football. We'll have to see how he and if he develops.

I watched some of the game. And boy did he have some bad throws. He made Sanchez look like the poster boy for Accuracy. To have that many passes thrown that way off (and it wasn't because of bad routes).

But then to hear the media talk about him as if he is a savior is ridiculous

He is better in the shotgun then under center so he can see the whole field, run around, and look to make a play. But most of his passes are just sloppy and the balls are wobbly coming out. He should work more on play action + bootlegs to take advantage of his running ability. He is a below average passer with great athleticism who can make occasional good plays but has some really ugly ones too. He needs to get better at reading defenses and picking up the blitz. He is a long term project who needs full commitment from the franchise.

Seems like a nice guy, but his throwing "style" is sooooo UGLY!!

He lifts his back foot/leg and his non-throwing arm is parallel with the ground at release, as opposed to this: (looks funny, but it proper)

It's not about how you start right? I mean Tebow play 60+ minutes of Football and made sure the team won. Like someone said, Denver traded his best option in Lloyd and now he has nothing at WR, and just rookies at Tight End. Tebow played well and even though as of now he looks to be a 4th Quarter player, you have to remember this was his first start since last season. So I expected him to struggle a bit but the comeback and the successful 2 point conversion really impressed me. Tebow can be the guy.... but it's a matter of whether John Elway and the Front Office thinks so, they didn't draft him, the old front office did.

Tebow is not nearly as bad as some people say, but he has a long way to go to be considered a "clutch" player. I don't consider it clutch to play that badly for most of the game. The Dolphins are awful, they're one of the few teams that you could still have a chance against after that type of performance. Also, the Dolphins went for 2 when they had 12 points, instead of taking the extra point. Otherwise it would have been 13-0 and then 16-0 at the end (although Tebow probably would have just converted both two point conversions somehow).

It's Tebow time in Detroit. 8 for 24 with a pick 6! Oh yeah!
The best part of that game was when that Lion sacked Tebow and then started Tebowing.

The Broncos are being battered by the Lions. Tebow has been horrible and it's showing today. I'm by no means a Kyle Orton advocate but this is a slap in the face for all those who booed him and called for Tebow. I'm not saying this is all on Tebow because it clearly isn't but talk about overhyped after beating the leagues second worst team.

How much do you think Elway would give up to get Luck in April?

And the fumble that was returned for 6 by Cliff Avril. Led his team to a -11 points thus far. Ouch.

I don't see a comeback this week which just continues to prove my point: Florida QB's always choke when they get to the NFL.
