Are you guys serious-don't you know by now Evans is done for the year? we are being spoon fed info. Torrey Smith isn't the guy either. His big day was against the hapless Rams. We need a tall guy that can get down the field ala Moss, Owens, Megatron without the mouth of course!

So now you've grouped T Smith in with your hatred for Flacco? The ROOKIE has 9 receptions for 237 yards and 3 TDs....What exactly were you expecting from him within his first 5 games in the NFL? Not everyone comes out like Moss did year one.

Correct..it was a bad game AS A WHOLE against the Jets, offensively. But then he rebounded nicely with a a great 3/81 game against the Texans. Thanks for bringing that up!

He had 1 reception for 1 yd against the Jets! In his last game, he had he receptions for 84 yd, most of which came from a 51-yd pass. One good game against the atrocious Rams' D doesn't prove anything.

Torrey Smith ahd 1 good game, against the 0-6 Rams. He had 1 reception for 1 yd against the disorganized Jets. 3 recptions for 84 yd against the Texans. So, no I didn't come out of the left field with this. Maybe you should check the stats instead of highlights from 3 weeks ago...

That works out to be an average of 60 yd a game and .6 TD a game. All of the TD came from the laughingstock that is the Rams D.

I think Suggs should go too! He only has 4 sacks, 3 coming from the Steelers' atrocious O line , the other from the Rams. He didn't have any sacks or FF in the last 2 games! HE SHOULD GO!

While Torrey's stats may not be out of this world, his importance to this team is undeniable. With his speed, safeties have to drop back, opening up the middle of the field for the slot receivers. Why do you think Boldin and Dickson have been killing it lately? Torrey. Stats don't tell everything there is to know about a player

In my opinion, the book's still out on Torrey Smith. Given that he had no offseason to learn the offense I'd say he's gotten off to a pretty good start. If he ends the year with about 700 yards and close to 10 TDs, that's better than Mark Clayton ever produced TD wise and yardage wise except for 2006. Besides, nobody said Torrey Smith was here to be the number 1 receiver, that's Q's job. Torrey's already proven his worth by being a guy that can stretch the defense and prevent teams from stacking the box, at least against lesser opponents. And Rex was worried enough about him to have Revis shadowing him. We gave Mark Cayton 5 seasons, let's at least give Torrey 2, especially 1 with an actual offseason, before writing him off.
