Britton being hurt all but sealed our 100-loss fate... this is terrible news. Why wasn't he rehabbing this injury all offseason?!!?

Root for the Yankees, they want to and know how to win... but yes, baseball in general is definitely worth following.

It's definitely a fun sport to follow. I only got into it in 2009, and even as bad the O's are, I still enjoy the game.

Nope. Just studying here.

Opening Day is April 4th. There's little chance you get quality coverage here but MLB maintains a really good website and you can watch highlights there.

The season starts with Spring Training which is like an extended NFL preseason that runs throughout the month of March. Then, come April, the regular season starts and lasts until the end of September/early October. And then there's the postseason.

Shocking, ain't it? Come June starts the praying that we'll live to see the day JA isn't at the helm anymore and a Bisciotti clone takes over.

Good news O's fans!

There is a rumor that Peter Angelos wants to sell the Orioles and is quietly shopping them around.

http://www.bmorebird...ietly-for-sale/

Apparently the rumor is that he wants to sell the team but retain the TV rights. The team will never be bought unless he sells the TV rights as well though. So here is to hoping anyways. Without knowing too much about possible owners out there, I'd like Mark Cuban to buy them. He would spend money to win.

If this rumor is true about him wanting to sell the team but retain the TV rights, Angelos has removed all doubt (if there was any left) that he is only in it for the money and was never concerned about putting a winning team on the field.

Now the bad news...(beside the fact that Peter Angelos still currently owns the Orioles)

http://baltimorespor...e-disabled-list

Zach Britton has some shoulder trouble that has been hindering him since last season and hasn't healed or gone away. He might start the season on the Disabled List and who knows what happens from there. Could get better or could require shutting him down all season depending on what the corrective procedure is.
Can't see anyone buying the team without the TV rights. I got so excited when I first saw the news story, but of course that's a major stipulation. Here's to praying that he'll finally cave all the way and sell them anyways. If Cuban owned the team, I would be ecstatic, but I doubt that would happen.

Seong-Min Kim is going back to Korea. MLB just tore up his contract with the Oriole's to try and patch up things with the Korean baseball association....

If the Yankees had signed this kid I doubt Selig would of intervened...

I bet if the Yankees signed that kid, South Korea wouldn't have even made a stink about it.

With all that luxury tax that the Yankees have payed, Selig and Brian Cashman must be like best friends, Yankees get immunity from things like this. Really unfair, but then again, this is baseball

Wow...the Orioles Hangout forum is apparently being shut down because the Orioles are no longer funding them or something. Reading the posters on there is kinda sad.

WOW, just wow! The O's are just getting cheaper and cheaper. I mean how much can it cost to fund a forum a year to keep the fans happy?

It is a shame that the Orioles aren't funding the site anymore for their fans but if ive read the comments from the administrators, they aren't shutting the site down and will try and fund the site on their own and with the help of the members. I hope the site and stay afloat, i really enjoy reading it.

Angelos has barely been funding the Orioles franchise period. I love the O's but I couldn't resist a chance to take a shot at Peter Angelos. :P

It's jaw dropping stuff.

If Peter Angelos had political power, he'd make Kim Jong-Il look like Gandhi. He's a vindictive little man who would rather settle scores than win, and his organization has followed suit quite well. That site told it like it is--mostly positive (maybe the LAST place on earth where anything positive was said about the Orioles?), but negative when needed--and now, the O's are going to war with them. Probably not the right group of people to be going after.

I don't buy the "business decision" excuse. They were spending a couple of K per year and their return on the Hangout Nights at OPACY alone were close to paying that back. I bet the loss of three season ticket holders alone (a LOT of those guys are going to walk after this) will turn out to make this a POOR business decision. Having that site was a cheap way for them to drum up a ton of enthusiasm and easily worth the investment 100 times over.

Someone over there got sick of having the front office reamed time and time again. I don't believe it about most men, but Angelos and Irsay are cut from the same cloth. I truly believe they'd burn their house down rather than have one person set foot in it that they don't like, and I think the only people PA puts in places where they can make decisions are good little foot soldiers who mirror that way of thinking.

I can't stomach giving that creep any more money. Their nightly attendance is headed for the hundreds this year. Hopefully Selig will make Angelos' decision to ultimately sell for him, at this rate.

SICKENING. And not something that Baltimore sports fans needed after the Patriots loss. I'll say it again--THANK GOD for this football team.

Yeah, I was posting on OH during the summer when we were "going after" Teixeira... haven't been back since, but it's pathetic that the O's are shutting it down. What else is new?

I dont know how I would cope without having the Ravens, thats another reason why our fanbase is so strong. Because the O's is weakening.
I got banned from that site which I regret now, but I was kind of a troll on it and went off on a rant about PA. Apparently the Orioles director of communication got on there and posted about their decision. And said he would like to answer all the questions but just doesnt have enough time. I just dont understand why he would post their in the first place.
Its sad to say it, but this might be an all time low. More and more Oriole fans are turning into National fans and PA just doesnt care.
Unfortuantly for me, I cant root for anyone else but the Orioles. Even though I know its not good for me.

Agree with every single thing you're saying. The way the O's handled that is astounding to me. I think it'd be pretty easy to get banned from OH because it's such a "civil atmosphere," almost like we're having high tea at the Harbor Court Hotel or something :-p

It is indeed a new low. It's sad, though. My kids will never get to know what I knew. The year Cal broke the record, especially. What that did to my mentality and work ethic, and how my own father used Cal as a teaching metaphor for working hard, showing up, and what that meant to everyone in the entire region. All the amazing summer nights we spent competing for the AL East title. It seems like so long ago now.

I love football more than any other sport, but there's just something so special and accessible about baseball games that I think is important for American youth to get to experience. If I had kids, I wouldn't want them anywhere near ANYTHING that Mr. Angelos touches. If they grew up to be like that, I would go to my grave forever bitter.

Well atleast you got to witness it lol. The last time the O's finished 500. or better I believe I was 3 so I dont remember it at all. I guess because my parents were Oriole fans, I am. Or just because I love the commentary. Idk but I honestly dont see any reason for people my age or younger to root for them. Its not like we have experienced anything good about the O's in our lifetimes. And every year we lose, more Oriole fans will continue to decline. And I dont see that trend ending anytime soon.
The best memory I have of the O's was last year when we knocked the Sox out of the playoffs LOL. It actually felt like we were in playoffs.
