Yeah, that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in that regard... what a joke this franchise has become.

In other news, Prince Fielder finally signed a deal: 9 years/$214M with the Tigers.
HAHAHAHA. Oh goodness. Yesterday i heard that the Nats and O's are the only teams interested in him. And supposedly the GM told Buster Olney weeks ago he wasn't interested in Fielder. No surprise he didn't come to us, especially cause we weren't even willing to offer him the same deal we offered to Teixeira 2 years ago (7 years, $140 million.)

Really? I heard about the Nats being interested and everyone was pretty much saying that's a done deal. I didn't know the O's were looking because their FO seems to be sitting around with their thumbs up their asses during free agency.

Angelos stuffed a new mattress with it :P

I'm still avoiding going to games until they remove the walk-up fee. That's just punishing those who are spontaneous about going to see a game.

What's the walk up fee?

Betemit had some bright spots when he was a Dodger but do not look for him to take the O's into contention!!

Yeah no doubt. Betemit is a decent piece in the mix but not someone to lead you anywhere. My sarcasm must have been lacking in my previous post.

This team will be insane if they trade or let Adam Jones walk. He is our anchor and centerpiece in the outfield. The Tigers joined us in the cellar about 5 years ago and we're watching them climb to the top. What a disgrace this organization is.

The reality is that Adam Jones might not want to stay with the Orioles since they are showing no signs of improving in the very near future. The Orioles have already tried to have a sit down with his agent to extend his contract and Jones has declined to do so. The worst thing the Orioles could do is let him walk after his contract is up and get nothing for him. I don't have an issue with the Orioles trading away Adam Jones and getting solid prospects in return. Hopefully it would be one of those 5 for 1 deals with at least 3 of them being pitching prospects.

We're losing a minimum of 95 games this season... you can book that right now.
I say we break 100 losses again.

No way do the O's give up Jones for just "Prospects" it would take 2 starters and "Prospects" IMO. Jones will hit 30 bombs this year and bat about 285 +/- a few. I'm pretty sure he's going to make a TON of money in the next 2 years!

Adam Jones has stated that it's up to the Orioles to keep him here.... he seems more than willing to ride it out in Baltimore, and for us to even attempt to trade him shows what kind of Organization we have.

Yeah as Ferrari Fan said, he's publicly stated that it's up to the Orioles front office to make a move because he stated he wants to stay.

I don't understand why he would refuse to sit down to work out a contract extension when the Orioles FO approached him and his agent during last season to do so based on what you are telling me. I guess he must have had a change of heart.

Why would Koji want to come back here? lol.
I really like him here though!
I wish I could look foward to a winning season but unfortuantly I dont feel we'll there for atleast another 2-3 years.

Doesn't want to uproot his family. It makes sense.

If we get a pitching staff going we aren't a horrible team. We were like 3rd in the AL with home runs. we just need guys with on base percentage and pitchers who can last longer than 5 innings.

That's the funny thing with this team though. We could have a helluva pitching staff (theoretically - not going to happen) this year and suddenly have all the power numbers sink. It's like right when you think you got an issue addressed, boom, it hits you back as soon as you try and move on to the next one...

We need a bounce-back year power-wise from Markakis... I'd take 20-25 HRs from him at a minimum. He's gotta earn that $66 million!

Annnnnnd of course, we couldn't even get Edwin Jackson. He signed a 1 year deal with the Nats.
It almost feels like the Nats ownership has a vendetta against the Orioles and Angelos. Kicking us when we are down and beating us out on all free agents. Maybe to make up for the Ravens taking away whatever shine the Redskins had outside of D.C.?

Haha yeah probably. We actually did offer Jackson a 3 year deal, but he took a 1 year deal from the Nats.

I know, it hurts. Mainly because when you take a 1 year deal, you usually take it with a contender. The Nats are getting better but I don't see them contending for anything this season, but stranger things have happened. Either way he is obviously trying to parlay this 1 year deal into a long term contract with someone for big bucks next season.

According to Twitter, the Nats have signed Edwin Jackson... I kinda wish we had gone after him. He's young and has potential to be a #2 or #3 starter. Oh well, that's the life of an O's fan. At least we'll get to follow him on MASN/MASN2!

I give up. I actually had expectations for last season, but I won't be surprised or disappointed if we finish dead last in the league this year. It's heading in that direction and im just expecting it at this point.
