Yeah, problem is he won't have that kind of leeway to pull the trigger on those types of deals as long as PA is the owner... it's a real shame too.

As part of their 20th anniversary at Camden Yards, the Orioles in 2012 will unveil six statues of the modern franchise's Hall of Famers in a revamped area beyond the bullpens in left-center field.

Each of the six men who have gone into the National Baseball Hall of Fame as an Oriole — Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Earl Weaver, Jim Palmer, Eddie Murray and Cal Ripken Jr. — will be honored with his own free-standing bronze statue.

All six have been involved in the process, which has been ongoing for more than a year.

Hey... Orioles may have a shot lol, they just approved adding 2 more Wild Card Teams to the Playoffs. Meaning 10 of the 30 teams will make the playoffs next year. I can't believe how much is changing within Baseball, first they are moving to 15/15 format so the NL/AL conference have equal teams and now they are adding 2 more Wild Card Teams.

Wasn't sure where to put this since we really don't have a MLB thread but I figure I put it here as it does pertain to the Orioles and now we can discuss if we can win enough to take one of the Wild Card spots lol.

The Orioles' bats are fine with me. Sure you want them to add that big name/big bat in there and I do too but if they were only able to upgrade their pitching across the board, they could compete. Maybe not for a World Series but for a Wild Card spot and that's all they need for now.

I would like to see the O's trade for Huston Street and sign Prince Fielder. Street would be 10x better option to close games and would allow Jim Johnson to move to the rotation. I know Fielder is wishful thinking but one can dream right?

I want Mark Buerhle, the O's have wanted him for awhile! Innings eater and a SOLID vet ( unlike Millwood). Prince would be nice, probably not going to happen.
