This is going to sting the same way losing to the Steelers in the AFC Title game did a few years ago.

I'm not going to complain about this loss at all. At the beginning of the season, I think everyone wanted the Orioles to just get above .500 and people would be happy with the season. Then, the Orioles go out and exceed everyone's expectations by fighting every game, and never giving up. They fight the Yankees all the way down to the wire for the Division, and clinch a Playoff spot for the first time since 1997.

They then go out and beat the 2 time defending ALCS Champions Texas Rangers in a one game win or go home situation. They started off slow with the Yankees but they were able to do what nobody thought they could do, forced a game five against the Yankees and fought all the way through the ninth inning. So you know, I understand people will be frustrated but damn it, the Orioles showed some heart and showed that they can be a contender next season, and that is all we can ask.

So let's be proud of the Orioles and Congratulate them on their 2012 Season and here's to a another great season in 2013!

Anyone who is frustrated has no clue how far this team has come. The upside for our "baby birds" is unlimited. The turn-around from the last 15 years was nothing short of miraculous. I'm sad that we lost, especially to the damn Yankees, but I am so thankful for a truly great summer AND fall of baseball.

It was so amazing that it makes me wonder if we can ever get close to that next season. I believe we can as long as we have Buck, manager of the year.

the only reason why i'm frustrated is because it had to be the yankees. i'd rather get swept by the tigers and i'd feel alright but losing to the yankees in the playoffs gives me a bad feeling to my stomach. That said, I won't be taking this season for granted. watching the orioles lose for so long, i began to stop watching it from time to time (sometimes the whole year) but this year i watched every game from the first pitch to the 27th out. This year definitely revived my passion for baseball. I feel proud of my O's and i'm really really excited for next season. Celebrate O's fans. we deserved a season like this. Buck Showalter and Dan Duquette - "thanks for the memories"

Ugh. I KNOW how far the team came in a season, that's the frustrating part. Just because the bar was *down here* at the start of the season doesn't mean it wasn't *up here* towards the end. I'm ALLOWED to be upset that our guys were swinging at horrible pitches in the dirt all night and the heart of our lineup weren't getting it done. I can be happy that we made it as far as we did and not just dismiss the fact that had we just hit the dang ball we could have easily won. *sigh* I'll fly the bitter flag for all of you and bear the sadness so y'all don't have to!

It will be a long drive back to Bmore and I'm crushed right now.

Not only because we lost to the Yanks (of all teams) but because I'm just now coming to realize that this season is over. To see it end like that hurts. A lot. But It's been an Omazing ride and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of it.

Manager, coaching staff, FO and players alike got us to one of the biggest stages in sports and I can't thank them enough for that. So many great memories that I will forever cherish and share with others. What a turnaround it has been.

I pity the people who throw players like Adam Jones and Chris Davis under the bus because they "slumped" in the postseason. Heard some really disturbing stuff. These are the same players you were hyping only a couple of weeks ago and they are the ones who got us to where we got. People forget this is an inexperienced side going up against big-spending powerhouses like NY who have got to this point and beyond countless times recently.

This will be an offseason unlike any other before and I'm looking forward to it. Players will want to be back, FAs will want to come here, PA will (hopefully) spend and the team is sure to lock up one of the top managers in the league to a long-term contract.

Future's looking bright for our Birds!

Im in the camp that is really glad to finally have gotten to watch baseball in September, I was 11 years old the last time this team was in the playoffs. It was exciting man, different from football but a cool thing in a different way.

Im also in the camp that would have rather have lost to any team but the yankees. I hate the steelers but thats in good fun, i hate the yankees because they represent everything that is wrong with baseball, theyre the rich kids who were groomed for success, the team that was bought to win. So it just feels wrong when they do. I know thats more MLB's fault than the yankee organization itself, theyre not breaking any rules or anything, but theyre still the most hateable franchise of any sport.

All that said, i love Baltimore and these teams have both made me really proud lately.

Watching this team play was something out of the fairytales. Ravens have Lewis, Reed, Suggs And Rice. Caps have Ovechkin,Backstrom, Green and Ribierio. Os had a rag tag punch with heart and that's why out of the 3 they made me the most happy

I think all the Ravens postseason losses has made this easier for me.

Plus we'ved sucked for 15 years and had no clue what an awesome season this would be.

He was taking hacks at everything in the ALDS. He can definitely use this offseason to work on his plate discipline and especially being able to recognize the breaking ball down in the dirt that always gets him.

Well done! How'd you get those??

Late reply. I won a lottery drawing thing on the orioles website. Got dips on seats before other people.

Proud of this team. You made baseball fun again. Thank you.
