Polamalu Fined 10K

Apparently the NFL just reached into the pockets of one Troy Polamalu and fined him ten thousand dollars for talking to his wife on his cell phone during Sunday's game against Jacksonville. It just never ends.

Youre kidding. Is this the first year this kind of silly fining is happening or just the first year its being made public because Ive never heard of such pointless fines in the past.

You're not allowed to have a phone/tweet or anything like that during a game. If they made an exception for Polamalu, they'd have to make exceptions for everyone. Michael Oher got fined for it, too.

Ok I understand it is a rule but it is one of the many in a pantheon of stupid rules. the dude just got injured man. I think goodell should receive a 100,000 dollar fine every time he says the phrase, "I have an idea!!!" What a jerk!

I agree, but they were following the letter of the law. Say a Patriots assistant was "calling his mom" on the sidelines but was actually communicating something that would give the team an unfair advantage. Idk, the NFL is being cautious with this rule - as they should.

For this particular case, the fine was a lot but whatever. Clay Matthews got $10K for flipping the bird on camera, Polamalu got $10K for making a private call

I know they have to enforce it...it is a lot of money but the positive end of it is who got caught!!!!

AJ Hawk was fined for that; Matthews received a 5,000 dollar fine for wearing yellow shoes

It is, but it isn't. I think you can thank Ocho for this one. Too much Twitter during the game. While we can all understand the call to the wife to let her know you're okay, they can't make exceptions or else they can't police the other players who use the cell for more, um....not so understandable reasons.

It's a dumb fine. No idea how that dollar amount equals to AJ Hawk flipping off an entire bench. And how a coach can chase down another coach, shove him and not get fined a cent.

Yeah, I'll admit the fine may be dumb, but the league has a policy concerning this. As for the coaches' scuffle last week, I would like to hear the league office's policy concerning this, as I'm rather interested concerning this.
