Hines Ward: 'Pittsburgh Owns The Ravens'

You saw it, I saw it. He didn't say "it's a new season". He didn't say the "past doesn't matter". He didn't say "we need to get better". He said "I concur" to the question that if the Ravens meet the Steelers in the playoffs the Steelers OWN the Ravens psychologically. Thanks for the BB material. Have fun watching reruns of your 2010 "almost SB win" while we're owning it in the playoffs.

LOL also at the Bayliss "I can't win so I'm gonna get Hines Ward for the Suggs interview".

Bayliss: "I think Joe Flacco and the Ravens suck, what do you think Hines?"

Ward: "I concur"

Bayliss: "I win"

The dude is such a Steelers homer I want to puke.
yeah i saw it and heard it. and who cares if skip is a steeler homer? not me!

this statement from a steeler player is nothing new and shouldn't come across as a surprise, shocker or to make you mad. that is how they feel because IF the truth be told...."they have owned us!" and...UNTIL...the Ravens can consistently beat the steelers on ours and their turf and in the playoffs on the regular with some consistency; they will ALWAYS feel that they "own" the Ravens. our Ravens won game 1 at home in week 1. cool! but that was only 1 game. since that loss the steelers have come roaring back into the picture....as usual! so, the true test to see whether or not our Ravens are truly a SB caliber team imo is...IF....they can get that second win over the steelers on Heinz Field in week 9 to gain the edge over them "pyschologically." and, IF they meet them in the playoffs can they beat them there? i sure hope so!

And he can say that if he wants. They have beat us a few times in the postseason now. And evrryone knows the postseason is a completely different animal.
In the playoffs id be more scared of the steelers than the bengals. Dont fool urself. The bengals have a rookie qb
I think you miss understood me, i would be scared of the Stealers too in the playoffs and not at all at the bengals , I was talking about being more sacred of them this playing season. But like i said, we had them in the playoffs last yr and we just let them off the hook and it wasnt all on Flacco, he threw one interception. I think all the blame could be spread on the Whole team

What else is new. Until we beat them in the playoffs he can say that.
Correct, I have a feeling we will be meeting again this year yet again.

True, in playoffs I'm more scared of playing the Steelers than any team in our division right now. We have all tools to beat any team in the league, but when in playoff against good team, we seem to choke. Rice I think is ranked pretty high on least fumbles in the league, but last playoff he fumbled at crucial time.

I hope our team need to let the past go and play within ourselves; importantly, don't think too much about the outcomes instead just think about playing your best at your position.

Rice only fumbled once last yr, and that was the play off game against the STEALERS. Honestly i cant remember the last time Rice has fumbled. If anyone know of any fumbles , please do tell. I think he is the number 1 ranked in fumbles.

I dont know if you follow the steelers, but I def wouldnt say theyve roared back onto the scene... More like theyve squeaked back onto the scene with very unimpressive wins but wins nonetheless.

you got to be kidding me bruh?  so, you want to focus on a play of words?  smh! since the steelers lost to us in week #1 they look like this:

steelers vs seahawks W 24-0
steelers vs colts W 23-20
steelers vs texans L 10-17
steelers vs titans W 38-17
steelers vs jaguars W 17-13

since the loss to the Ravens they have managed to obtain a 4-2 record.  sure, we're 1 game above them (4-1)....but.....you call that "squeaking?"  lol!

Yes...barely beating a Manningless Colts team, barely beating the Jags and losing to the Texans.  Very unimpressive :)

I do agree, however, that we NEED to beat them at their house to fully legitimize what we're doing!!

they lost to a Texans team that had Mario Williams and Andre Johnson playing. we beat that same Texans team with those two out of the game. so, perhaps our Ravens win was "unimpressive" that game as well? hmmm...

Sure, but that's not what is in question right now. Steelers are unimpressive thus far this season. BLOWN out by us and squeaking wins against inferior teams...HA!

If you recall correctly, Johnson left in the second quarter of that game, so he wasn't playing much in that game either. Sure, Williams played, but we would have dominated this team regardless.

Agreed on both fronts. They don't have a legitimate win apart from the Titans in my eyes. Seahawks? No. Colts without Manning? No. Jags? No. Regardless, beating Pitt in both games this year is what the entire organization is working towards. We want a home playoff game if we have to get through Pittsburgh in the playoffs (if they make it there).

that is interesting because in all honesty...neither are our Ravens if we use that line of thinking. sure, we smoked the steelers. awesome! but then we got rocked by a so-called "inferior" team in the titans the next week. right? then on top of that, we had a huge day against another "inferior" team in the Rams. right? we popped the Jets...cool! but then the Texans...without Mario Williams and Andre Johnson came to town and gave us all we could handle. but the steelers are unimpressive because they beat "inferior" teams? wow!

If SOME of you actually watched the interview, he gave alot of respect and props to the ravens. Its really not what SOME of you are making it to be. I actually gained some respect for him (still cant stand him though).

Thank you, Suggs was acting worse than Ward was honestly. That interview earned respect from me, i wont show it until he retires :-) but he earned respect from me non the less.

Mili, come on now....the Steelers have struggled mightily, but, on he other hand, the Ravens have dominated in all wins. Yes, we fell to a Titans team that is/was not what was thought in week 2, but we have blown teams up! Steelers, again, BARELY beat the hapless Colts and Jags.

We beat them last year with both playing the entire game... yes, we let them back in the game, but we were putting it to them in their house most of the game.

I admit, I probably overreacted to Ward in creating this topic. I just hate that guy, perhaps to an unhealthy degree :) . So I let it go. But Mili, I am curious: you are pretty hard on Joe and the Ravens, even after impressive wins. How would you view this team if you were the Steelers, following the week 1 blowout loss:

Week 2: @ TEN L 26-13
Week 3: @ STL W 37-7
Week 4: vs NYJ W 34-17
Week 6: vs HOU W 29-14

i agree! the steelers have struggled. but so have our Ravens..especially offensively! now...if we say in here that the Ravens "barely" won a game...which they do at times....what do we hear from posters 1/28/01? i'll tell you. we hear stuff like..."who cares? a win is a win!" what is good for the goose should also be good for the gander bruh!
