Ravens Are Best Team In NFL (per Football Outsiders)

I think the Power Rankings are pretty legit right now...GB #1 and then it is a coin toss between the Ravens and Pats.

Im honestly shocked at some of your guys confidence in us against GB. They are have so many weapons and elite WR and TE. And as much as our offense struggles, GBs Defense isnt that bad....i think they would edge us out at the end, but lets hope we have a chance to find out

I believe the Pack could go undefeated but have a fate just like the patriots did in 07 and this may be crazy but I Want to face the Pack in the superbowl and watch the defense pick Rodgers apart and to prove all critics wrong that Flacco can lead us there and win it.

I like that someone thinks we are the best team in the league but like many of you have already said, you'd have to give the nod to the Packers. As much as I want to think otherwise, I think they would beat us if we played.

What makes the Packers a scary match up for me is Charles Woodson and how the Packers can use him. Because of the high level of play of Sam Shields and Tramon Williams they can play Woodson, still an excellent corner, in the slot. I'm scared that the Packers could line up Charles Woodson against Ray Rice on every play and actually shut him down both on the ground and through the air. Rice is oen of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the league right now, and if they can prevent us from using him effectively they can put a huge dent in our offensive output.

Defensively I think that we could match up with the Packers. Greg Jennings is an elite wideout and Jermichael Finley is an incredibly gifted TE, but their receivers are otherwise nothing particularly special. Even Donald Driver has been less than his usual self this season. Rodgers is, to me, the best QB in the NFL this season without a doubt, but he's not unstoppable. We could get after him well enough to prevent him from picking us apart. It comes down to if you believe our offense could get it done against the Packers D.

The Ravens have historically struggled against elite QBs. (Minnesota game in '09, anyone? Patriots games, excluding '09? Any time we've played the Colts?) Rodgers is probably THE elite QB right now.

Us against the Packers would be a heckuva game, but I find it hard to bet against Green Bay right now. Maybe if Aaron Rodger's arm spontaneously falls off.

I think with a defense like ours we are capable of beating teams with really good offenses, we have kind of a trump card with really good offenses. This all depends on how well our offense plays against their defense. This is why the steelers have been such a problem for us because they generally in the past have had a better offense then ours and a good defense to go along with it. But most teams are one sided either a good offense or a good defense. This year it seems that we may have an offense that can keep us in the game enough to allow our defense to rest, which will help us win.

I really don't think the Packer's are as great as everyone is saying. Take a look at the Atlanta game a couple of weeks ago...the Falcon's, who aren't themselves this season for whatever reason, were beating them up until the 3rd quarter, right? Their strategy consisted of stopping that high octane offense. Green Bay made the adjustments to beat a defense that had been stopping them all night long. However, Atlanta's D is no where near as talented as our D and we have the depth that Atlanta didn't. Plus, our D coordinator is far superior to Atlanta's, in my opinion. Team's have showed that IF you can stop GB's offense, and prevent them from making the adjustments to win, GB CANNOT put the game on there D's shoulder's PERIOD! The Raven's are just the kind of team to stop the GB offense, and our offense EVEN RIGHT NOW (yes, I dare say it) will run over that crappy defense. We beat them by a TD, even if we played them MNF this week so long as our D shows up strong.

i think ur highly underestimating the packers offense. I really dont know if we could shut em down right now.. It'd be close

I didn't say anything about "shutting them down"...just beating them. They haven't played any good defenses just yet. Let's not overestimate their offense because of that. But, I get you. A part of me see's what you - and some of the others - are saying. Arod has a lot fast, experienced targets to hit. We don't have the best corners in the league, although they are making a name for themselves each game. I have confidence that we would win by a small margin (and, if we lost, it wouldn't be by much). I'm telling you, if that offense can be slowed down...that's it...GB cannot win, their defense cannot pull their weight. Hopefully we'll get a shot at the superbowl champs!

If we were to play Green Bay, it would be a very close game. I think that if the game became a shoot-out, we lose. I don't think our passing game can keep up with theirs. But, with our dominant defense, we might not have to play in a shootout. Greg Jennngs is their only big threat. Aside from his rediculous 3 TD game, Jermichael Finley has done next to nothing. Trust me, he's on my fantasy team. Lol. I think we can run the ball on them though. And if we can establish a strong running game, and dominate time of possession, we can beat them. That's how you beat elite QB's like Rodgers. Win T.O.P and keep them off the field. They can't throw TDs if they're not on the field.

Yeah, it's unfortunate we don't play the Pats this year to see how we measure up. Looks like we'll have to settle it in the AFC Championship. With that said this is how I see the top 5 right now:

1. Green Bay
2. Baltimore
3. New England
4. San Francisco
5. Oakland

After watching every team play at least once this season I feel that's about as solid as a list can get. Oakland at 4-2 is better than San Diego at 4-1 right now in my opinion. San Diego's beaten a bunch of tomato cans and have been unimpressive in doing so, I fully expect them to lose in New York on Sunday. Oakland was dominating Buffalo in one loss and the other is too New England. Plus that Palmer guy is a pretty good quarterback, we've seen enough of him over the passed decade. But hey, the list will change in two weeks, guaranteed.

Ummm... its too early to really talk about best teams. For example, didn't Denver go 6-0 in 2009 and finish 7-9? Just an example.

But, I think on a good day, we are the best OVERALL team in the NFL. GB's defense has looked mediocre compared to the domination it was last year. Our defense has shut down just about everyone and everything. Our offense is incosistent, but I feel like we can move the ball at will when we need to. I'm not scared of any team this year, not even Green Bay.

Yea i remember that only because we were the First to give them there loss, i remember it started when J.Johnson had a huge tackle.

Playing the Packers would be interesting. Their defense is 30th overall in YPG, 31st in passing, and giving up about 20 PPG. And that's with playing Denver, Carolina, and St. Louis. I think we could ring at least 30 on them. I would be interested to see if Aaron Rodgers could answer that against our defense.

Well, like I said. SOS is taken into account. Other than NO in week 1, the Pack doesnt really have a strong win. Their defense has also been average so far. We have quality wins over Pitt, NYJ, and Houston.

Cam Newton did hang something like 400 yards on GB's D. GB is without a doubt a great team, but to say they don't have weaknesses or are unbeatable is stretching it.
Just so I'm clear, I agree with you lol This was more in response to the guy that you replied to (Jamal)

It wasn't just a tackle. It was one of the most brutal sacks I've ever seen.
