Raiders Acquire Carson Palmer

I still believe all Palmer needs is a fresh start but he's not worth anywhere near what they're about to give up.

Per ESPN wow

Raiders are idiots

Thanks for making the North that much more difficult for years to come

I never thought of that part of the trade until now.. What are they thinking?

The Raiders don't really have many picks to give up. Cincy is playing pretty well and Dalton/Green seems like a great combo for years to come. I hope they dont get 2 number 1's..... for Palmer, thing is.... That will put them in salary cap hell.

Not really..not with the new rookie caps....but as u stated the Bengals have something going here with Dalton and Green and they're sporting a top 2 defense which has always given Flacco problems..add in 4 first round picks in the next 2 years and they can make a huge splash

The Raiders won't be any better with Palmer than with Campbell. Palmer hasn't been a top QB for 4 years.

The Bengals are going to be scary in 2-4 years They have a young solid O and Great D that's only going to get better with 2 1st rd picks the next 2 years

The Raiders have just ruined their franchise. Two first round pick is ridiculous for a guy that isn't even in the elite category or ever won a playoff game. The Bengals just ran away with the steal of the century. Image what they can do now, especially since he Dalton-Green experiment is working out for them.

I'm excited for the Raiders with the Carson Palmer acquisition. They gave up way too much for him with those 2 - 1st round picks though.

Poor Boller, loses to Palmer again.

^ I LOL'ed

The Bengals are getting an awesome deal here, I heard Jay G. say that this could turn into two firsts pretty easily. Hopefully Palmer fails his physical...

The raiders were pretty much forced into this. Campbell is going to miss alot of time and Boller isn't going to be able to keep them on the track they are on. They are in the drivers seat for their dvision and Boller has shown over the years that he is way to erratic. They tried garrard first but evidently he's hurt so they had to do what they had to do. it was either bend over or miss the playoffs again.

Boy does Mike Brown look like a genius now... Everyone thought he was a fool when he held out and refused to trade Palmer at the start of the season. Now the Bengals get 2 potential first rounders out of nowhere..

I'm pretty sure they don't have a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th next year already so they really don't have much choice to offer their 1st this year. Still, even one 1st is too much and they are giving two!? The Raiders won't have a draft pick until the 5th round next year. That is not how you build teams.

They should just offer the Broncos a 5th rounder for Orton instead.

WOW..... I'm absolutely shocked, I wake up and this is the first I thing see. Look one thing I will say, I will congratulate Mike Brown on finding a sucker team like the Raiders to give up that much for Palmer. Oakland now has virtually no picks in the 2012 Draft.

The Bad thing... The Bengals have 2 1st Round Picks in 2012, the Bad thing... Mike Brown is finally starting to Draft Well.

That remains to be seen. AJ Green was a gimme pick, and the jury is still out on Dalton. Brown might get lucky once in a while, but he's no Ozzie. The Bengals are still the absolute worst organization in the league on the whole, and I don't think two first rounders are going to change that as long as Brown is running the show.

So much for thinking the Raiders would get smart with the passing of Al Davis. I wouldn't trade one first-rounder for Palmer let alone two, and the Bengals really are making out on this deal. As much as I dislike them, this deal is ridiculously good for them.

Jermaine Gresham, Carlos Dunlap, Rey Maualuga all say hi. With the exception of Andre Smith, the Bengals have drafted great players and we know he isn't Ozzie but they have added some solid contributors to that team.

They have a very good, well rounded, defense.

They have a good o-line, Green and Gresham. If Dalton pans out they're going to be a major pain for us, particularly now that they'll potentially be picking two elite prospects from each of the next 2 drafts.

The Raiders are complete morons if they go through with this. Palmer's almost 32 (in December), will have no time to learn the play-book and, to be totally honest, sucks. The Raiders are NOT a below average Quarterback away from the Super Bowl and this moronic trade will undo the positive development they've made the past couple of years.

I think Hue Jackson can turn Palmer's career around. Flacco wouldn't be where he is developmentally without Hue's tutelage during his first year.

Hue Jackson was with Palmer during the early stages of his career, wasn't he?

Well, NFL.com confirms it.

The Bengals just took the Raiders behind the bike shed. The Raiders are irrelevant again and the Bengals are going to be a major pain for us.

100% this. Why the Raiders have given up two firsts on Carson Palmer of all people is beyond me.

Things are looking very bright for the Bengals right now. Green will be one of the best in the league some day. Dalton is looking decent and their D is still good. They've drafted a few good players recently as well. Considering they were looking likely to be the division basement before the season they have really surprised me.

Its hard to comprehend why the Raiders would give up so much. Palmer is decent, but he isn't going to take them to the SB. Their ceiling will be a trip to the playoffs with or without him. The conditional first is dependent on them winning a playoff game with Palmer, so that seems unlikely but could certainly happen. Just not a smart football move.
