Bench Jimmy and Lee this week?

49 posts in this topic

Of course we thought the texans game is when everyone would return but they had minor setbacks...grubbs seemed like he was good to go but had his toe stepped on n put a little pressure back on it....Jimmy is almost there but his ankle hurts a little on a few teqnique moves (spell check) I think...n lee still has a little sorness in his foot/ankle...hopefully they can go vs jags

Doubt we'll need them for the next game. I know the Jags played the Steelworkers close, but we don't lose to teams under .500 often. I don't expect Monday Night to be any different. We'll need them back for the Cardinals, though, I just don't feel right about that game even though we'll be at home. But yeah, let them heal another week and we'll be cool. Ravens should steamroll the Jags.

Torrey smith is getting better every week. No need to rush lee Evans back as he was a stop gap until smith was ready to ball. But smith & lee on da field at da same time should be interesting for boldin & which ever TE is in the game.

Evn though we might not need jimmy next week, we will need him against the steelers 2 weeks later. So he needs to get some game experience now.

Lee and ben can rest up untill then.

We need Grubbs back before Joe ends up in traction. Hopefully he brings back some effectiveness to the line.

Grubbs is the man I want to be back in the line up. Gurode is a guy learning the Left Gaurd position, he's doing fairly well.... BUT he's not even CLOSE to the level of Ben Grubbs. Once we get our true offensive line back into form, we will get MUCH better. I really do believe that. Grubbs is a HUGE piece to keeping Joe on his feet.

Yeah. it would be nice to get these guys back but we won against a very good texans without them. Not so sure we are desperate for anyone right now.

Their time will come and we will wreck the league when we get 'em all back right when it matters towards the end of the season.

After watching the pressure the Texans were able to get what seemed so "easily" yesterday, I'd like to see Grubbs back this next weekend. When you think of the Texans, you don't really think of defense. It seems like they were able to bust through like the O-Line was wet toilet paper.

You're afraid of the Cardinals? Besides Wells nobody is playing well on that team, even Fitzgerald is struggling since his qb is so bad.

You must not be paying attention to them this season, they have one of the better defenses and I think the best red zone defense in the league. Getting to the passer has been their strong point the past few years, it was just their secondary that sucked for so long which is what they put a bunch of money into in the offseason

Grubbs makes McKinney better. I could definitely tell in the first half against the Texans there were several miscommunications between Gurode and McKinney. Grubbs would solve that problem. Him and Yanda are our key parts to that line. If we want Flacco to be elite then we need to give him the best opportunities to do it. Every elite qb has an elite line. With Grubbs, I love our offensive line.

Pretty impressed with our depth to not have these guys and be winning pretty convincingly against some good opponents. If these guys need to miss one more week to get fully healthy I won't be too broken up about it. Would like them back for Cards as a warmup for the Steelers. Probably don't want to leave Carr out of that list of guys too. Props to Danny Gorrer for stepping up big-time!

Rodgers doesn't but hes a very special case. I say the important game to have them back would be the cards. First its a home game so it should build confidence and its an out of conference game to get some pt and rhythm before the big rematch. Also gives then some extra time to heal up. I also wouldn't mind throwing them into the fire against the Steelers for the purpose of having little to no film of them. Guess we will see when the time comes.

Jerry sandusksy tweeted yesterday that jimmy smith was on the field warming up. Said he looks very close. I'd say next week but he won't play much. They will need to work him back into football shape again

Rookie QBs just don't beat us, and the Jags are pretty awful... why rush these guys back with Pittsburgh looming?

Obviously, if they're healthy and ready to play, they should play, but if not, I don't think it's worth it this week.

We should Destroy the Jags. That is a team the steelers let hang around and it almost bit them. Take away MJD and there is little they will be able to do.

The last game just solidified why EVERY pick next year needs to be on OLINEMAN. Maybe a ILB if they drop that far in the first,.

I definitely want to see us get a center and depending on how hardwood & Reid develop... Another tackle (prefer a left) but every pick? Lol, kinda over doing it a bit ya think

regardless of how well or poorly they are playing...i sure hope that our players (unlike some fans) don't sleep on the Jags or the Cardinals for that matter.

Garrard isn't a rookie... Oh wait. lol. Yay for stupid/cheap front offices.

We shouldn't need them for the next 2 games, but I would like them to be ready for the Steelers game. Grubbs should be able to go right as he comes back, but Lee and Jimmy need game experience with this team.

I want them rested yet ready to play the Steelers. No need to rush them back for the Jags, but I also don't want them to be cold vs the Steelers. Hmm, yeah, don't want them in for the Jags. I'm sure Ed Reed will have a say against their rookie QB and no doubt our run D should stop MJD.

I would love to see Grubbs back for Jacksonville and Arizona, while Lee Evans I like to see benched until he is fully healthy, if he can make it for Week 9 against the Steelers, great, that's another deep threat for Pittsburgh to worry about but if not I'll be ok. If we can get Jimmy Smith back this game or at least playing against Arizona it would be great.

So Lee Evans we really don't need since Torrey is doing so well but I would say Grubbs & Jimmy Smith are players we need back ASAP.

Being as Grubbs sounded good to go before he had his toe stood on I think he'll be ready to play vs the Jags. He's the one we need the most as our O-line was awful at times yesterday.

I think Jimmy will be active and will probably see some time against the Jags. We can work him slowly back into the lineup, especially if Carr is also healthy next week.

Being as we know very little about the details of Evans' injury we really can't say when he'll be ready to play. I'm happy for him to sit until he's 100% personally. Our receivers, especially Torrey, have done enough for the team in his absence.

I like Benching our players.

I am going to ASSUME that Lee has been injured for a lot longer than the Bills let on. Although they did not have the talent to really do anything but play him through his injuries. If we can get him back FULLY healthy than we are going to be good to go at receiver for a long while.

And as far as Jimmy goes back the last thing we need is a potential shutdown corner, being injured his whole career because we were to dumb to let him get his rest and now it compounds into something ridiculous

I'm not taking any team likely. Just an example is Cincinnati. Don't they have a rookie QB as well? What's their record?

I always feel bad for rookie QBs when they face our D firing on all cylinders. Has this kid been hit hard yet? Cause he will be.

I saw if they are healthy, let them play. Jimmy needs as much experience as possible, Evans needs to grow with Flacco in gametime situations, and our O Line needs to be together as much as possible or else Flacco is going to die.
