NFL Fines

With the NFL making some good coin off the Ravens recently I got to wondering,,,
Where does the money go?
It is just straight profit for the NFL ? Is there some sort of allocation for funds obtained from fines?
or worse yet are those funds linked to a budget?

I think for each player, the NFL puts the fine money they've collected from that player into a savings account where it earns interest, and then when that player retires the NFL turns that account over to the player as a thank you for their service to the league

no they give it to charity if thats the case why wouldnt youhit as hard as you can

It goes into the Goodell's Christmas account.

I agree, after all goodell during the lockout only got paid 1 dollar a month so he has to make up for it somehow and whats the easiest way to do that then fine players.

The fines go to various charities, generally in the fined player's city.

that is good to know that it's going to a good cause and it may explain why sometimes it is a pretty steep fine besides the obvouis
