NFL Fines

10 posts in this topic

With the NFL making some good coin off the Ravens recently I got to wondering,,,
Where does the money go?
It is just straight profit for the NFL ? Is there some sort of allocation for funds obtained from fines?
or worse yet are those funds linked to a budget?

I think for each player, the NFL puts the fine money they've collected from that player into a savings account where it earns interest, and then when that player retires the NFL turns that account over to the player as a thank you for their service to the league

So they make money off their own fines? I'll have two of whatever you're smoking. :)

I agree, after all goodell during the lockout only got paid 1 dollar a month so he has to make up for it somehow and whats the easiest way to do that then fine players.

"Player fine money is used to support retired player programs, as well as other charitable causes as agreed upon between the NFL and NFL Players Association."

This article is a nice read on the topic.
