Ray Rice or Darren Sproles?

Seriously? RR hands down and I think Saints fan would say the same!

Random question.
Sproles is a very good receiving back, but I think the only RBs that are in Rice's tier in terms of receiving ability are Forte & McCoy.

Ray Rice has better hands so that is the answer to your question but Darren Sproles is in a more explosive offense and has more opportunities for big plays.

ray rice hands down. he is the best receiving rb in the nfl in my eyes. also the best running/receiving back. the textbook dualthreat....

Ray rice
mccoy
Matt forte
dmac
foster
[/quote]

I would put Sproles in that list.

Rice
Forte
McCoy
Sproles
McFadden
Foster

Sproles is much like Reggie Bush in that he is not much of a between the tackles runner but is an excellent player in space.

Sproles is a really good receiver but Rice is simply better in my opinion. Not only does he run quality routes, he routinely makes one-handed grabs.

I think the telling throw for me was when Joe put that beautiful over the shoulder pass for a TD in the corner. It has got to be RR

yea it was really hard not to put sproles there but i need to see more touches from him..
Everyone downplays dmac so i dont expect much people to agree with me yet there.
Foster led the league jn receptions and rec. yards for rbs last year so he gets the nod over sproles imo

That's what I mean about the comparison to Bush: he isn't the kind of guy who you would give a lot of touches to. Dmac is (definitely before this season anyway) underrated. He is a top 5 RB IMO. You can't really argue with Foster leading the league with catches from RBs but I would say Sproles would lead the league in RB receptions if he was a starter.

I thought this was going to be a Ray Rice vs. Arian Foster thing, it seems more relevant. But to get back on topic i do think Ray Rice is the best receiving RB in the league hands down.

That was pretty.

But the one across the middle in the jets game was extra great stuff. RR caught that pass in stride and in traffic like a well seasoned WR. And lots of YAC to boot!

Jamaal Charles has some skill catching out of the backfield too.

It is funny that Ray Rice wasn't a receiving running back in college but we turned him into one lol

I would say Ray Rice has the best hands of any RB in the NFL, but Darren Sproles is a better back in space. Ray Rice can break some ankles, but Darren Sproles just has an incredible explosion to his running style, and he is a much more powerful runner than some give him credit for.

Matt Forte would probably be right behind those two, then Chris Johnson and Lesean McCoy.

Receiving yards has nothing to do with ability to catch. Owens has monster yardage but a lot of drops....

That all said rr is compared to mjd due to more than stature...

Okay, Rice is still the better receiving threat hands down, IMO.

i can put him over foster easily. The main thing running backs have going for them when they go out for a route is that they either have one man guarding them or their route cuts or sits under the zone coverage so 9 times out of 10 if the can make one man miss then they can get a good chunk of yards easily. Thus id take sproles. Foster isnt that much harder to tackle than sproles. Sproles speed difference vastly outweighs foster strength advantage
caprende?
