Jacksonville Fans Decent?

21 posts in this topic

My 10 y/o son & I will be going down to the Ravens/Jags game & I was wondering what to expect. I know you can always expect some "ribbing" but wasn't sure what experiences others have had & what we should expect.

Thanks for your help!

Just because their team is really bad - is not to say it is not a "friendly" place to visit. That is what I am wondering .

I don't expect high fives but hope the fans are decent - especially with me having my son along.

Thanks.

I'm sure it will be fine. There's gonna be plenty of Ravens fans there to congregate with and Jacksonville is not historically known for crappy fans like Philly or New Jersey.

I am taking my family as well, a 5 and 3 yr. old. I was a little hesitant at first but this thing is going to turn out to be a purple party south style. I just got off of the Jags site and there is still over 6,000 tickets available at very low prices. I also have friends that take there young kids but they aren't really a fan of any team so they aren't really the enemy, but they say it is kosher for a good family experience. I wouldn't take my kids up north to Pitt or Philly but I don't have too much worries about Jacksonville, except that it is a night game but oh well. It will be my wife and I's second game and my two kids' first and we are all super excited! Can't wait to see you all there..Go Ravens!!!

I'll be there as well, a friend of mine lives in jacksonville and is a season ticket holder, so he is giving me one of his seats. I asked him if it was safe to wear my ravens stuff, and he said not to worry..there may be a little ribbing, but he said its all in good sport and not to worry about it.

We will definitely be in Jax again next week, but no big party at Metro park this time. We wil be tailgating with a bunch of Maryland transplants in Lot D. perhaps Jax Landing on Sunday night (if we roll into Jax before the MNF game).

Ravens fans have a block of about 80 parking spaces in the Tailgaters parking. Its on the east side of the stadium with indoor restrooms and a bar and other fun stuff. Looks like most of us are in Rows E and F.

This is going to be awesome to see so much purple in another teams stadium. Florida Ravens fans and anybody close enough to get to Jacksonville need to grab these tickets. According to the Jags' website there are still over 3600 tickets available and they are real cheap compared to any home game you will try to go to. Purple Party on Monday Night Football..let's make it happen!

Sitting in section 203 north end of stadium in the end zone. Heading to Orlando Friday and staying there Saturdy & Sunday and driving to Jacksonville Monday to tailgate. My 17 yr old thinks we are the coolest parents for taking him out of school monday and tuesday. He is in the NHS (national honor society) so he deserves it... gonna be a blast!

My wife and I will be taking our kids 8 & 11 to section 125 and we will proudly wear our Ravens gear. I live in Jax and I don't think there is anything to worry about. The Jags don't have a large fan base because most of the people here are from up north and the Jags haven't been good since Brunnell left. Does anyone know if there will be a chance to meet any of the team when they are here in Jax? My kids want to get some autographs.

Well .... needless to say that the game was absolutely horrific. It should be featured on American Horror Story next week.

We stayed until the Flacco interception and had a heck of time fiquiring out how to get to 95 south.
