How can any1 call flacco a checkdown king or mr.checkdown? If our recievers such as boldin smith Evans dickson pitta Williams doss or reed ain't OPEN n rice is the only person A RECIEVER pending on the playcall is open wich he mostly is because he's a huge mismatch for a LB or most safties is he not suppose to throw it to him n force it into tight coverage or take a sack or just throw it away? It's not joes fault if the WR's ain't open n rice is...plus Joe trusts rice to pick up first downs or yards that would be lost...and there's ALOT of plays that's created for rice in the passing game anyway n he is one of flaccos main reads

Wow don't you think this comes across a tad over-critical and judgmental at best? How would you define "insane" running game, and by what gold standard are you comparing the offense? How can you say the offense struggles when they are winning games? Do you even like the team? I know you keep saying get off Joe's back he isn't the only one struggling. But you only back up the comments by saying everyone on the team is playing terribly.

Personally I wouldn't trade any of our guys for any other player and you can stick that in your delusional fantasy pipe and smoke it.

Yes guy with 515 posts, I do like this team. I've been here a lot longer than you so I would say I do infact love this team. I just don't think they are living up to their potential. The 2008 and 2009 Rushing Attack was better and this year we moved Oher back to RT, got a bruising blocker like Leach and I'm just saying we should be doing A LOT better running the football.

Put please, hide behind your ignorant comments how I "hate this team" because I am trying to divert the blame on flacco to the offense as a whole.

Wow, it is embarrassing to see Baltimore's school system at work here...the guy has repeated many times what the point of the thread is, and a lot of you still cant grasp it.

And @ the guy who responded to my last post, saying that it is absurd to claim Rice was not effective in the Jets game, 2.6 YPC indicates otherwise. No ifs and or buts about it. You guys claim we make excuses for Flacco, so dont make excuses for Rice.

I typically ignore most of the people under a certain amount of posts but a guy like CalvinSmoke breaks that theory because he actually understands what im saying.

The offense as a whole has been inconsistent. Flacco, Rice, Ricky, the receivers, the line, they all have to step it up. There are no excuses for anyone, except that there are a lot of new pieces and there was no offseason (sometimes I think half the people on this forum forgot that) to work them in. I expect the offense to become more consistent as the year goes on.

This is true. And, especially this year, where the Ravens have attempted more downfield passes per game than any other team in the NFL...

Again I know what you say the point of the thread is supposed to be but it doesn't come across that way at all. I don't blame Flacco and the offense for anything because I think they have been playing pretty well. Stats don't always tell the whole story, and the only stat that really matters is winning the game. I don't see any defense in the entirity of the NFL that can flat out, out play us if we execute the way we did week 1 against Pittsburgh.

Furthermore, I asked if you even liked the team because you have nothing nice to say about the Ravens offense in this thread. Obviously I can see how often you have posted, but to say that I am not as big of a fan because my post count isn't exorbitant as yours is total nonsense. I have been posting on this site for 5 years or more, and I am just sick of all the bashing and the constant blame that goes around.

Lastly, the offense doesn't meet your expectations? Are you expectations even reasonable?

What a difference a year makes, right? I don't know... I like the idea of more downfield passes, when they're not ill-advised. But the shift has clearly reduced Flacco's completion percentage. I'm anxious to see what the offense plans on doing this Sunday.

Two things that impress me about Flacco this year: (1) he has better pocket awareness and doesn't get hit as much; (2) he knows how to find the open man after the play breaks down. Who can argue that the pass to Ray Rice wasn't a masterpiece?

Two things that concern me about Flacco this year: (1) other than Ray, he doesn't always seem to hit his other receivers when they are open; (2) he has not scored much in the 2nd half of games over the first quarter of the season. The Ray of Hope is all the success that Rice has had. We only need a few more games like Q in the Steelers game or Torrey in the Rams game.

Flacco's 4th year. Bout to play his 60th game. I would like some more consistency.
Ray Rice should be flourishing behind Leach and Oher back at RT.
We got rid of Heap because we wanted Speed. We got it in Dickson but the target to ratio catch isn't great.
Boldin is having trouble with seperation.
Lee Evans wasn't healthy when we got him.

I never worry about our defense. They show up in the playoffs, it's been our offense getting us the early exit so yeah I think we need to see a little bit more from the offense. I am merely saying it's the offense as a whole struggling and if we can run the ball effectively to begin with then maybe Flacco has a better game versus Titans or Jets.

I like that we are not depending on our running attack as much as in the past. And I also think, when needed, the running attack will be fine. Is our O as a whole under achieving? Yes it is; But I for one expected this to be the case for a while considering all of the new pieces, limited camp, etc.. I hope(and expect!)for this squad to blossom into a formidable force to be accounted for deep into the post season. No reason to think it can't. Patience.......... RR AND Joe will be fine!!!

And I have to comment on your reference to the # of posts of a member. The # of posts does not necessarily = time as a fan or breadth of knowledge about the Team. Some don't have the time to author a lot of posts.
You often make excellent observations and thoughtful posts, but you should try to be a little less condescending. As has been said by others, opinions are like (ear)holes, everybody has one.

I agree and you are right. I was just frustrated because he called out my fanhood and that sets me off.

But I will say, for our offense to flourish, I think we need to run the ball more to take the pressure off Flacco. Would love to see how even better our defense gets when they are rested by a clock management offense!

I agree.

When things get right, this will be the best balanced O ever for the Purple and Black. Watch Out!

Hey no hard feelings broham, I was feeling kind of frustrated as well. I didn't mean to call out your fanhood, but I do get sick of all the negativity. Football is meant to be enjoyed and meant to be entertaining. No-one is perfect, and no-one always plays perfectly. Just keep this in mind, and we can get along just fine.
