I'm sure John Madden will issue a statement.

Indeed I agree with ravens__ will be tough to imagine the Raiders without him.

RIP, Al.

Say day in Oakland. Is it wrong for me to ponder this early whether they'll stop drafting based on measurables?

Wow, that was the last thing I expected to run across when I hit the NFL website. I know he frustrated a lot of people towards the end of his life, but I hope more will remember that he did do some good stuff too.

Wow... this is sad to hear, like many said already he pretty much was the Oakland Raiders team and it will be hard to picture the Raiders with a new owner and it will be very different without him.

Maybe they will but I think it's too soon for Draft Jokes about the Raiders.

Wow, almost makes me feel bad about making fun of the guy for his last year's drafting inadequacies. R.I.P. Al.... we'll miss ya.

Seriously, I wonder if he had a condition like Dementia or something that caused him to go looney in the drafts in his later years?? This is not something to poke fun at, but its a possibility.

NO WAY!

Am I out of the loop or was he ill? Was never really a fan, but I respected what he meant to the game.

Rest in Peace Al Davis.

I wonder who will inherit the team.

Good question, anyone know?

RIP Al Davis.I'm a raven for life but something about the Raiders always made me a fan of them. They are very similar to the ravens.Smash mouth defense, gritty attitude, and always being seen as the outlaws of the league being the opposite of teamslike the pats or colts.
